Thank you, Miss Catherine. I'm a single male. I love home cooking but like it quick. So I adapt your recipes to my Instant Pot. The ground beef stroganoff was beyond belief. Next I'm doing your tuna noodle casserole since I've learned the pasta to liquid ratio in the IP. Then, I'm going to try these potatoes. Thank you for all the fun, and for the wonderful deliciousness. 🙂
Au Graten is my best side dish, goes well with chicken, fish and meat balls. Thank you for sharing. You droped in my my mind and going to my kitchen now.
Okay, I'm making this one tonight for hubby. I had some left over Cheese from Mac and Cheese I made last week so I looked you up for this recipe. We both love scalloped potato's and who doesn't love them with cheese. This and a meatloaf using your Salisbury steak recipe another one we love.
I love homemade au gratin potatoes. When I was first married we could not afford a lot so I put hamburger and either au gratin or scalped potatoes together as a meal. And we had so much left overs for lunch on the weekend, or weeknight that was always fun to make. And I use to make this upside down Barry cake that was so easy and cheep. We had a mulberry tree in the backyard. So I'd pick them for an hour and my husband loved my cooking. Good food we can't go wrong on at all with our family. And it was so much better the exspenceve fast food. God bless you all and I sure enjoyed this ❤️. Can't wait to see the next episode.

Catherine everytime I think you couldn't possibly do any better you always come back with another one, you are awesome thank you so much for all the amazing recipes.
I love this recipe! And I'm glad to see someone who calls it augratin instead of scalloped potatoes. I always thought scalloped was without cheese. ?????
Oh my gosh, just when I feel like it's not even possible to drool anymore over your cooking skills, Catherine, you put out another recipe and here I go again! Thank you as always! 🥰
Making these now- exactly how you instructed. I will make these with our Christmas ham. I always try first so I know it came out good. Thanks so very much. I subscribed and love your channel. Was I suppose to put Captain Crunch on top. Haha- your husband is very funny.
Great ideas! With hot water presoak! And making rue on stove top never seen that before. And cutting potatoes so thin also I need to get that cutting board slicer. And heavy cream pour. And spray oil on foil to prevent cheese sticking that's GREAT! It looks great and must taste delicious too!! AWESOME job! Great for luncheon or dinners .on a cold day! Piping hot!!!
Recipes like Catherine’s have been on southern tables for years and are our comfort foods. I enjoy watching Catherine for several reasons: She always has a smile when she greets her audience, unlike some YT cooks she doesn’t scream. She always uses a calm voice while showing the viewers how to make the dish, her recipes are not complicated and do not require exotic foods or spices, she presents herself on camera as though she has trained professionally (perhaps she has), she gives options for foods in the recipe that her family does not like, and she includes her husband in tasting the food. I could go on and on-can you tell that I enjoy her show?
Made your baked potatoes salad today. Totally super fantastic. So this will be made very soon in my house. Thank you for sharing. Never thought about making the sauce by itself. Fantastic idea.
Just found your channel and my mouth is drooling !!!!!! I have seen a few more of your dishes before this one and I am going to make everything I have seen so far ( or try to ) LOL God Bless !!!!!!!!!!

One of my favorite recipes my mom never made it with the onions either we never liked it that way. Will definitely be making this soon. I love your trick of parboiling the potatoes I use it in so many applications now.
One of my favorite also but my mother never made it at all. I first tasted it when my new neighbours moved to ontario from PEI I would go next door and I smelled the mom making this incredible dish then she gave me some being 🇯🇲 in 🇨🇦 this blew me away begged mom to make it and she'd say that is for white people 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 well I told my mom I'm white on Thursdays from now on 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. As a young bride many years ago, I bought a Betty Crocker Cooking for Two cookbook. As I prepared dishes, my husband would tell me liked it ,but if I added this or that or omitted something, he would like it better. For almost sixty years, I developed family favorites by listening to suggestions. BTW, when Emeril was first introduced on the Food Network, I would try some of his dishes, which my husband did NOT like. I like your recipe but making the roux I make by whisking the flour and the butter until golden color, this way the flour is cooked out and no raw flour taste, same with adding the cheese a little at a time and its very smooth and creamy :)

Then she would pour milk (2% is always what she bought) until the casserole dish was full, cover it with foil, and bake. I make it the same way…my husband and step-son don’t care for it because the flour and the cheese sort of glom up in separate sections…to me, it tastes just like its supposed to, lol.
