      It's really really good, if you want my opinion! It's great quality for the price, honestly. I paid $75 for mine, and it's awesome! :D Mine is an open back and I love it :)

    Hi Jodie,
    Thanks for your series on the Kmise Banjolele. Just purchased from Ebay and all inclusions received in great condition. Kmise logo is inlayed, not stuck on, fret board is perfect dark and there are no imperfections in the body as you had observed in your video. Being in a local ukelele group, banjoleles are rare and being a musician (keyboards) the sound produced is exactly as I would have expected. Exceptional value for money, as I would have expected to pay AU$300 plus. Looking forward to introducing this instrument to the group post Covid lockdown here in Sydney Aust.

    I'm looking forward to the review and comparison with your other banjolele. I love uke science! (calling it "science" legitimizes my habit of buying more ukes and a multitude of strings for the sake of comparison) ;)

      Jennifer Lehner- uke science. I love it! Having a channel helps me justify buying ukuleles. Whatever we have to tell ourselves, right?

    Hi, Jodi! My Kmise banjolele just arrived today! I have yet to play it, but already I notice mine doesn’t have that nasty foil label on the headstock. Instead of mine has a cream colored plastic inlay. I think it looks much nicer. Thanks for making these videos! I subscribed!

    Very nice Jodie
    The Kmise banjolele I got to play was very nice and well worth the he money ... which should be pointed out is much cheaper than any other make and model out the here.

    You measure, get it close, then compare the harmonic notes at the 12th fret with the fretted note at the 12th.
    Once those match you got it!

    I'm trying to learn mandolin, and I thought it would be neat to have a banjolele tuned GDAE same as the mandolin. There is the Pyle banjo mandolin available in my price range, but I think I want single strings instead of paired strings. For one thing the double number of strings puts more pressure/ tension on everything, making tuning less stable. Another option would be tuning GDAE but one full octave lower than a mandolin, which I think is the "Irish" tuning for a tenor banjo... unfortunately tenor banjos are a bit out of my price range at this point. In any case I wonder if either of these GDAE tunings are possible on a cheap concert-sized banjolele?

  • @Kermoedi77
    @Kermoedi77 5 років тому

    That’s a good deal on a banjolele! I already have an actual 4 string banjo, but I still kinda want a banjolele. I was contemplating the new Outdoor Banjolele because I love my tenor uke from them. But the price on this is very nice.
    When I got my fourth ukulele, I told myself I was done...but now I want a nice soprano and probably a baritone to play too. Ugh! They’re like potato chips! Always wanting more.

    • @girlmeetsuke2980
      @girlmeetsuke2980  5 років тому +1

      Brandon Rout: yep! There’s just so many different sizes and variations. It’s hard to stop at 4. 😂 What kind of soprano are you wanting??

    • @Kermoedi77
      @Kermoedi77 5 років тому

      GirlMeetsUke I’m not sure. I don’t need it to be super fancy, but I want it to be nice. The soprano I already have is. Waterman and the action isn’t great on it at all (as you know). It’s not really a fair representation of the size, given the quality.
      I haven’t had a chance to go to my nearest music shop to try any out.

    • @girlmeetsuke2980
      @girlmeetsuke2980  5 років тому +1

      Brandon Rout That’s definitely the place to start. I really like Ohana’s mahogany soprano. Sopranos are so fun. They can really pack a punch. And the good news is they are the least expensive so you can sometimes afford to get a nicer soprano where a tenor would be too expensive. I’d definitely try to spring for a solid wood one. My Bruce Wei was only $100 and I love it (especially with the new Martin strings on it❤️)

    I bought mine off the eBay about a year ago and it’s a great instrument! Looks like we got the same but the case isn’t as nice and I had no instruction as to where to put the bridge. No strap buttons on mine. You got way more fun extras than I did. I have Fremont Black Lines on mine and it sounds great!

    • @girlmeetsuke2980
      @girlmeetsuke2980  5 років тому +1

      When you bought from eBay was it shipped from China? How’d they do with the packaging? I’m a little scared to buy a Kmise from eBay after my last one. 😬

    • @HaydenMZ79
      @HaydenMZ79 5 років тому +1

      I’ve had nothing but great experiences with buying from Kmise via their warehouses in China. My solid spruce top concert arrived in under two weeks and was in perfect condition. I also buy replacement parts for my builds through them and they are great.

    Same sort of packaging and bits as my Mulucky. I am very pleased with it but I don''t know where to connect the strap at the back? I didn't like the pickup and the cheap tuner. Does the Kmise have a connection at the back for the strap?

      GirlMeetsUke yes straight from China. I only received the inside box you received and it was pretty banged up by the time it was delivered. But the banjo uke itself was fine.

    Hello! I was wondering if you would be able to add a low G string to this? The metal bridge and it being a concert banjolele suggest it should be safe to do so, but I'm also wondering if it might take away from the banjo sound?

  • @johnaustin1825

    You should have a device for undoing the drum screws (Look in the pocket)

    Thank you for the info. I'm currently trying to decide between a regular banjo or the lele. Never played before, and I'm left handed, thinking of just learning to play right hand. Thoughts?

    • @girlmeetsuke2980
      @girlmeetsuke2980  5 років тому

      I know a lot of people who have done that. I also have a left handed student who is learning to play right hand. I say try it. You’ll probably find forming the chords to be somewhat easy and might have to work on strumming a little more. At least that’s the case with my student. Good luck and have fun!
