Shounen is absolute garbage, fact. Shounen fans are complete losers that don't care about the quality of a series, they just care about how many power ups and fights there are. Real anime/manga fans such as myself realize seinen is vastly superior, imagine liking shounen lmao that could never be me. Seinen > Shounen.

When I turned 18 I couldn't stomach Shounen anymore. I dropped and started to dislike shounens I used to like before I reached that age like 7 Deadly Sins and MHA. When you read and watch other medias and fiction you notice too many tropes, so most Shounen just don't do it for me anymore.
all of this is so true, before I got into anime and manga i used to think Japan was full of smart people but after learning that one piece is the best selling manga of all time my perception changed massively, it sucks because not just in Japan but all over the world shonen will always have the attention
Over the years Shounen manga has definitely gone downhill with very few gems in the mix. Seinen and Shoujo can be hit or miss but collectively are more interesting than the Shounen nowadays as well as the Josei genre. However, American audiences tend to go towards media in the action/adventure genre
Agree with everything but your sports manga/anime comments. If you ever played sports especially in High School they are the most relatable manga/animes as long as they don't have super powers and magically abilities like Kuroko. Nobody is going to tell me something like Slam Dunk isn't amazing and Karasuno doesn't win every match in fact they never won a Championship in all three years of High School.

The stories are the same and there’s a huge lack of depth or character development for any of the characters outside the protagonist (and that’s saying if the protagonist outside a power up gets any real development).
