I've watched so many reactions to this album, but none has paid as much attention and gave such thoughtful analysis as you have. Such an awesome reaction to one of my fav albums of the year and decade so far!
I think that this and the brad taste’s ones are the two best reactions. By watching both you can see an analysis (here) and a total stream of feelings (brad’s one)
2:11 She Looked Like Me 7:36 Killing Time 13:03 True Blue Interlude 16:38 Image 21:20 Death & Romance 26:56 Fear, Sex 30:06 Vampire in the Corner 33:10 Watching T.V. 37:40 Tunnel Vision 43:00 Love Is Everywhere 47:49 Feeling Diskinserted? 49:35 That's My Floor 54:06 Cry for Me 59:20 Angel on a Satellite 1:05:20 The Ballad of Matt & Mica
also a little tidbit about death & romance linking into fear, sex, i believe matt & mica said that they initially made fear, sex first and then realized they needed a precursor to that. and thus death & romance was born ! so in a way they were made as though they were one song
48:10 I love how he had the whole point of the album in less than 30 seconds but said like "yeah it's cool" and moved on, lol. His analysis on the story is so refreshening too, like he gets the point in such a different way that gives so much better light to what the experience of the story entails, talking about love and loneliness as an analog to being okay/not okay with oneself and seeking renovation, it's so amazing how it connects and it's so genuine.
I like how you mentioned the theme of the album is like a software disk being inserted but there's a glitch because the start of the album sounds like a CD being loaded 🤯 and the Hello is the bootup sound and the cut sample sounds is the software loading and taking in all the new information
Have listened to this a lot and watched a bunch of reactions but you really brought a new take and perspective on it I hadnt ever considered so thank you for that. Love this album even more now :)
Thank you for taking the time to edit and uploading here! I know YT can be fussy and a pain 😓 But spot on reaction and interpretation as always and you were right on the money with Cry For Me sounding like ABBA!
No filler, just killer track after track, after track, after track, after… I am obsessed with this album and I’m an old grunge head 40 something who is quite the grump with a lot of modern music. I enjoyed Clairo this year too, very organic, lounge singing, beautifully subtle and layered, but this album blows my mind. Could be, no it is in my all time top ten. This is how I’d place it; 1. Soundgarden- Superunknown 2. Fiona Apple- When the Pawn… 3. Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk 4. Fiona Apple- Fetch the Boltcutters 5. David Bowie- Low 6. Jellyfish- Spilt Milk 7. Jeff Buckley- Grace 8. Otoboke Beaver- Itekoma Hits 9. The Strokes- Angles 10. Carpenter Brut- Leather Teeth Yeah, pretty happy with that, as you can see there are some modern albums in there.
Loved this reaction, really thoughtful and you clearly know your stuff about music. Makes is a much more enjoyable experience than the ususal head bopping and "ah yeah that was good" at the end of each song.
Really enjoyed the reaction and the detail you paid to the production and the meaning of the lyrics. Highly recommend reacting to the videos for the songs in this album as they really tell a cohesive story and could give you more context clues for the meaning they are trying to convey. don’t piss me off, so mad it didn’t even get nominated
@ the Grammys mean nothing to me at this point since they only care about the most popular stuff as opposed to the best
Album of the decade so far
@@mmumambientsounds-timers honestly such a fair take, it's definitely up there for me with Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and Census Designated
One of my fav albums ever ..too soon ?

Saw them live earlier this week. They played the album front to back with some hits in between. Transformative and affirming. What a record.
Have listened to this a lot and watched a bunch of reactions but you really brought a new take and perspective on it I hadnt ever considered so thank you for that. Love this album even more now :)
I dreamed of this happening I can’t believe you actually are reacting to this!
