I don't like the serenity mechanic. Trash mobs don't last long enough for it to matter and bosses have so many invulnerable phases that you end up wasting it. Current game design just doesn't mesh with a burst phase build. Good idea, actually executed well, Hades 2 just doesn't cater to it. My idea would be to preserve charge through rooms and have serenity not pop a timer for turbo regen but instead give you x number of omega casts for free.

Very similar to the Thanatos aspect, so definitely a plausible fix for them to make.
as someone who has been using the Aspect of Circe a bunch, I like this idea. I don't HATE current serenity but your idea makes a lot more sense as it would be similar to the way Aspect of Thanatos works. Additionally, I think the Aspect of Circe just needs to be a bit stronger to rationalize using it over the other 2 very strong Descura Aspects.
Maybe Serenity should make next 3 or 2 Omega move cost 0 magick instead of restore magick and left 5 second, so player won't feel waste it.
And Player can use some crazy build like the duo from Apollo and Zeus or Apollo legendary when they are actually 0 magick.
I'm sorry to say this but hades 2 is a direct downgrade to the first game. I was so hyped for this game and I really wanted to like it but I'm afraid it has fallen short of my expectations. It looked so promising with its beautiful art style, stunning character designs, phenomenal voice acting and fluid gameplay but I'm afraid it has one critical flaw holding it back: YOU. CAN'T. PET. THE. DOG. Literally unplayable 0/10

I actually like Cross Cataclysm with Momos though, since putting up the cross fire, the orb turret and the omega cast makes me feel like an unfair boss fight that fills the entire arena with hitboxes!
In honor of that clutch Wolf Howl at the end; I had a Than run the other day with Psychic Whirlwind hammer and had Wolf Howl. The whirlwind rises with you. I did take a Path of Stars so i did damage with it, which could have been why, but boy was it wild jumping around being a shredder. I think you'd enjoy that.

I wonder if it's possible to rig echo's "boon from last night" to trigger a hammer instead by getting a hammer in the first room, dying, then immediately doing a new run and getting to her with rerolls to spare.

She gives two things: boon boon boon which runs a boon from last night, and reward reward reward which gives whatever you just got in the last major, wether a boon or a hammer. When you get a hammer previously riiiight before her, you can get that. Then the anvil takes one away and gives two more, giving 4. I did this on an axe run before the most recent update.

Once I had a run with 5 hammers. Got one right at the start, the second one was in the fields, and right after that I got echo room and with that I got that option that gives you the last thing you took (another hammer). Passing through Cerberus I took Icarus keepsake and at that point I already had 4 hammers, then in the last shop I got the buyable hammer that makes you sacrifice one of your hammers to get 2. With all that said, was a terrible run cause I wanted to do a momo special run and got 4 attack/omega attack hammers 😢😢

if you slow down the vid the 2256 dmg at the end wasnt charged during serenity so maybe the visual cooldown is faster than the actual effect? strange though
I was trying to make Circe work, and it just seems like shit tbh... it just gives you burst, whereas new Momus just gives you constant high damage.
Its a solid aspect. The annoying thing is if you arent paying attention, you can run out of magic and not be able to engage Serenity at ALL. Serenity activation in my experience requires you to cast an omega move, which if you dont have magic regen and are sitting at 0, you have no way of doing.
Obviously this gets patched over once you get some form of magic regen boon, but before that point, be careful. Can get caught out and suddenly you're just a basic staff with regular attacks.
Honestly for a last keepsake, I wonder if droplet is the play here? If Fleece's bonus adds onto Aphro, I would seriously consider the benefit of getting more omega moves into a serenity window.
i really wish this keepsake in particular didn't have a time limit. i hope they buff time limit or make remove time limit.

how do you get your aiming while casting to not be jerky, i find while i play with a controller it feels really jerky trying to aim the cast even on the lowest setting

Designwise it's an interesting choice not to make things uniform in function. If all of your other charged aspects carry over between rooms, why doesn't this one? If you want to design your aspects so that each one of them has its own set of rules and bend things a little, then why don't really lean into it? like an aspect of midas where you'd use money instead of mana to cast omega moves and it'd make damage (both base and omega) scale off of your collected money, then you'd get rid of the same (often skipped, a junk-build choice) hammer and put something more meaningful there.. aspects could/should be more wacky that alter the way you play by A LOT in my opinion, not just "oh, now my cast speed is 0.3 faster" or "now I can spam everything in the game indefinitely like a true god for about a second!"

dagger, take Sureflurry hammer and take Poseidon's special. Max Poseidon's special. If you get slippery+crashing waves, it unlocks Poseidon's legendary which 1.5x the Poseidon's splash. The build hold dagger throw from extremely far away from chronos. Other good hammers are hook shot which got nerfed or faster channel special by 40% which also got nerfed. even though it got nerfed, dagger throw spam probably still easiest weapon to clear the game with.
why was the video hidden?
This aspect seems sooo bad! In normal rooms, you barely ever have serenity charge, and during bosses, it kinda sucks because it lasts so little, that usually you begin using serenity and the boss uses their armor for when they're changing phases
Hestias fire damage gauge is hard to understand. I can't tell if the white part is the end or the yellow part is the beginning?
yellow part is burn. if the health bar is all white, then enemy will die after burn is expired.
I love going 4 hammers hahaha (2 from the run, 1 from experimental hammer/Icarus, and 1 from Echo) maybe I’ll try 5 hammers with anvil next time
The reason why dark side was nerfed is cause if you fully upgrade it is an instant win w poseidon cast and they wanted to upgrade the keepsake .
That is my pov of the situation at least.
I kind of wonder how this aspect made it into the game in the first place. You can tell just by reading the description how weak it is compared to the others. I know it's EA but they're usually so on point with balance it seems odd. Also with the nearly useless haephestus boons.
Speaking of a four god pool, i like the change because scorch being underpowered and core hephie being underwhelming (if we aren't talking his cast, that extra damage gets added to omega attack power he legit has the second strongest omega cast, strongest with the moon), and demeter having low percentages means what usually are excellent third/fourth gods because they have a ton of nice QOL never got time to shine, but that said i dont like hestia and hephie's situation right now. If scorch was excluded hestia probably has some of the best boons in the game, but scorch is just so underwhelming to build around that they need to do something about it (maybe make fire extinguisher part of base scorch and set it to 200, with legendary changes?) and hephie imo was designed as a second god to be used on a lesser used button, but with the aspect changes only aspects of mel really work that way where you dont use a button, so even doubling hephie's times and giving him a tiny %buff too would be cool.
Im really excited about the upcoming boon changes and apart from circe being incredibly underwhelming i think this patch was actually incredible for the bakance of the game
They should add an endless mode
Aspect of Circe is basically new tank staff build. you pick Keen insight and go for Hera's legendary Boon. Serenity is not really good for its dps, it is good for its infinity mana and guess what uses infinity mana super well? Hera's legendary. You get free -50% damage reduction by blocking damage with mana and Circe's Serenity fills the mana up. Don't take Born gain else you'll risk priming mana for no reason.
Hera’s legendary isn’t worth a whole aspect. If you need to tank, I would take demeter’s infusion and take another aspect instead
the whole point is that you stack hera's legendary, Demester;s infusion and Phoenix skin from Appolo+Hestia duo. You'll be walking tank practically face-tanks the game. I picked Extended Wall-hop to just mash attack the entire game and ran Total eclipse as my hex. Half the fight, i was invulnerable and If you do take a hit, it probably doesn't matter since Phoenix Skin will just heal you.

I think Hestia is in a really weird spot rn. You almost never want to do a scorch build, by far her best boons are burning coal and controlled burn, which is REALLY cool, but odd since she has so many boons for scorch, her Legendary does barely anything, but that's not too big of an issue tbh. and she has no ways of giving you bonus damage on scorch besides her legendary, wich again, is not very good at that job, Like I adore her, but I feel like her legendary should specifically multiply damage, scorch should be better if it is higher because of some random bonus effect, or she should have another secondary boon that wants you to get a big scorch number. Obviously fire extinguisher like, kinda? fulfils that role, because it lets you make use of the Idle scorch stacks you build, but its kind of funny that the perfect stacking DOT design doesn't want you to make a big number, right?
also, if you want to do a really strong hestia build this patch, get the cast and (maybe) the attack, (not the special, preferably), get burning coal or controlled burn, and get fire extinguisher. the perfect 3 would be a decent rarity scorch applier, a pommed fireball, and a heroic fire extinguisher with a pom on it. hestias legendary is mainly bad because it doesnt work super well with fire extinguisher, wich is the main way you can actually use those 200 scorch stacks that aren't ticking down, ideally, they would buff her legendary or smthn to make scorch deal more damage the more stacks you have (wich would make big number AND fire extinguisher truly functional), but for now the only good hestia build is all in on fire extinguisher.
it is kinda hard to say. Fire extinguisher turns your burn into Zeus''s primary attack where you need deal 300 burn to get burn proc. in most build, splashing burn is much better than focusing on it with her Cast or zeus duo boon
Legendary boon is for demester where you need to get a fire attack/special with an Ice special. Fire extinguisher limits your burn stacks to 300 where Duo ice+Fire boon is all about scaling your burn stacks to 1000-2000+. The damage isn't crazy but it is respectable offence.
I really wanted to see a 4 hammer run. My day is ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable. I now demand a run with 5 hammers for damages and compensation.

What fear level could you reliably beat.
I think a run with purely foe stat boosting build would be good, so your foes are as broken as ever, but foes are as tough, fast and numerous as they will ever be
No doubt that right now, it's not a question of will I win or not, moreso just how well we can win while we're still testing out many different combinations.
Upping the Fear typically means making the runs longer in some way, which is not something everyone is interested in seeing. Having said that, more high Fear runs will be coming eventually.

I find this staff is the best right now. Focus on attack and omegattack, Apollo is good with chance to hit twice + hammer that hit twice you are just constantly under serenity. And you hit hard. Take Demeter for the +50% damage on omegattack and hestia. Take infusions. Golden.
But between momus and circe, melinoe aspect has no purpose anymore…

i think the goal of the aspect is be a sort of magick on/magick off build while being able to ignore any sort of magick regen boons and have more flexibility when going for damage. there is definitely potential
you do unfortunately need to have something that can replenish your magick at least for 10-20 points so you can cast 1 omega strike to activate serenity. I tried it with vow of panic and it just didn't work at all.
What I've found with this aspect is, it's a worse Momus if you put heavy focus on omega. But Circe distinguishes itself when you build toward normals while dishing out decent omega inbetween.
Well, it may not look like there's a ton of sense using Serenity with Poseidon... But isn't that bonus from serenity additive, and it doesn't really matter what you have on top of it?
Granted, Poseidon isn't great with slow and big-base attacks anyway, so...

I have a build suggestion:
Skull with aspect +60% dmg for attack and special
Dd hammer - omega attack upon picking up skulls, others for more attack power
Aphrodite for attack boon
Apollo for x2 omega legendary
Demeter for +% for omega attack
Smth for survivability is nice to
With this it has great burst potential
We should get a hammer weapon!

Spear and shield are classically Greek but they seem to be avoiding any Zagreus weapons.
Honestly I do think circe has some potential, it just needs some quality of life changes and then it will really pop off. The idea of an omega spam build also just seems very fun and fitting
