It's not only hypocritical, but a sign of mental illness. It's almost always a non-artist attacking artists, making lame attacks. As someone who does art, I will only give encouragement and support no matter the skill level. No one doing fan art for the community should ever receive abuse like this.

Every single one of them. It's fine to head canon it, it's fine to see representation you love, but geez it's a headcanon, stop harassing people. Also other sexualities exist. I've seen people harassed over believing a character is bi instead of lesbian too, and thats it's a poor excuse so you can ship them with both genders or hide the fact you think they're straight. I'll never understand why people get so obsessed over fictional characters' sexuality to the point they will wish death on everyone that disagree 😭
Oh definitely. People are already inventing reasons to ship Yelan with Shenhe, a character who has almost no interaction with literally any character in the game prior to her release. Anything except that they just wanna see big titty, thicc thigh, spandex wearing girls with opposite hair colors together.
It goes to the point where, if you're a lesbian, you can simply go to Twitter, say that you think straight art is cute and be labeled phobic against lesbians. They have such a big fetish for demonising people that they go as far as colouring people [of a group] as anti [group], simply because they spread tolerance outside of [group] instead of being elitist snowflakes.

This is why I don't post my art on Twitter. In my experience Discord and Instagram are much more safer places to post your art on and much less drama to deal with and no doxxing campaign to deal with aswell. Stay strong Twitter artists. I would highly recommend other artists to migrate to other less toxic social media platforms just for the peace of mind.

It's just a neverending cycle of toxicity. I'm a multishipper in all the fandoms I've ever been in and the amount of times I saw people screaming and acting worser than five year old kids about a ship made of pixels... there were more than I really want to admit. Your space is your responsibility. If they can't block and mute the content that they dislike, that's on them. It's such a simple solution and yet they go into the tags of another ship in order to look for their next victim.

But there was a time when people were actually afraid of gay people. Homosexuality was associated with communism, there was fear that gay people would spread AIDS just by being near you (it wasn't well understood at the time) and men were also afraid of being s*xually harassed or even assaulted by homosexual men. That fear turned to hate. This was how the word "homophobia" originated.
I'm not sure fear is the motivator here so much as a sense of entitlement. But I could be wrong. They might actually be afraid that straight ships gaining traction may, somehow, reverse the progress that has been made or lead to "gay erasure"

Miko doesn't seem like the kind of person to want to be in a relationship at all, certainly not with Ei. This reminds me of the situation when people didn't vote Xinyan to be one of the prettiest girls in Genshin, and they got mad because apparently that's racist. Xinyan isn't supposed to look pretty and cute, she likes rock'n roll and she dresses up that way because that fits her style. She'd like to be called the coolest girl or something, her personality isn't pretty and cute. But of course all they care about is her skin color. Same with Miko, they don't factor in her personality, the only thing they care about is whether she's a lesbian or not.

Honestly... To me, Yae 'hinting' to be lesbian is just Hoyoverse giving FANSERVICE. None of it is canon and it will never be unless told by the writers themselves. Ningguang and Beidou during one of the lantern rites... Fanservice. Eula's demo where she asks Amber for a dance, fanservice. Yae Miko and Ei bonding or bantering, fanservice.

I come across a lot of YaeYato Ship Content and the people behind it are super innocent and tame, if not super nice. They don't even force the damn idea to others like most LBGTQ Ships, specifically.

Twitter is the reason that i make write-up bios for every character i write (Although it does actually help keep track of stuff as well so generally good anyways).
Im an Amatuer writer with 0 things publized, but personally, the thought of the twitter police telling others and potentially even me, to my face, that any one of my characters are "hinted as" or "covertely" anything is just infuriating.

Yae being shown to have a respectful and healthy interaction with Ayato of all people at the beginning of the Irodori Festival story event.
The kind of respect that even Traveler and Ei has a hard time earning.
The "yae hates men" statement itself is alr been ironic in the 1st place, since nowhere in her voiceline shows her resentment towards male charas. She literally called gorou adorable&pretty, saying itto is entertaining, & call ayato has a warm smile but simply frustrated for not being able to bully him.
And they proceed to simplify that as "she despise him".
Like, my brothers&sisters in christ, i dont think despising someone for not being able to bully&harass him/her like u do to others is a good character trait/representation like u think it is-

Her VO line about Ei is basically her saying "I find my friend's emotional and ideological struggles with herself that came about as a result of all of her friends and family being killed by the powers they trusted, cute." That's not really something that you say about your friend. There's also the general implication that Miko could have at any time tried to talk to Ei because she knows how to enter the Plane of Euthymia and just didn't because she didn't feel like it. Ei is supposed to be Miko's closest friend.
Or how she allowed what is basically a fanfic of her and Ei to be published simply because she knew it would sell well and she likes money. And this isn't something I made up either, the cosplayer during the Irodori event literally says that she told Yae that publishing such a story could be problematic and Yae's response was "Whatever as long as it sells well." And that whole "Yae likes money" thing isn't made up either, one of her character stories, Story 5 or 6, is literally about how she fucked over the Tenryou Commission in order to get a bigger share of the profits from one of their businesses.
But like, almost none of the Genshin cast has shown any sort of romantic attraction to any other characters. It's literally all up to interpretation. This community istg...smh

As an artist I really hate it when people especially since their not even artists themselves call other people's work botched art because firstly they couldn't take the time and effort to make something that generally puts a smile on people's faces and can only go crying about fictional ships and secondly the cause many to quit art thinking they aren't meant for it when the isn't any inherit meant for art or not it just depends on how much you dedicate yourself to improving. Its sad many will quite cause of people like this. Twitter makes me sick

Hearing the stylus part hurt, that part hit way too close to home. I went to a trade school for art, a goal to one day do artwork for a square soft game. Due to some stupid personal relationship issues and drama, family problems and losing my portfolio, I can't even focus on trying to draw anything anymore without having a violent mental and physical breakdown, shaking and becoming nauseous. I hope they're able to recover from that, because it sucks not being able to practice a craft you love dearly.

@@McCaroni_Sup Pretty much, was a big fan the Final Fantasy series and a number of their titles we actually got ported to NA. Wanted to do background visuals, concept designs, I basically just wanted to get into the gaming industry for creative work however I could.

Every artist is bad at drawing when they start, but being able to keep drawing, practicing, gaining experience, trying new things,... It's what makes an artist improve. I started drawing 5 years ago, I'm not super good at drawing but I try my best. When I see the drawings I made the first years I see my improvement and I always think about how I could draw this sshhiit. Drawing is not easy, because it's not only practice, but search for information too because you can't draw something with you're own imagination when you're a newbie. You don't understand the anatomy or the perspective so it's normal that your drawings are bad. But with the years you'll get better for sure because you're gonna search ways to do things better. I think this is something all the people who draw for some years already can relate and it's a process that all artist have lived, drawing bad is just part of the whole experience, with the time everyone that dedicates time and effort will get better.

If you look at an image booru and scroll through an artist page with a lot of art over a long period of time, you'll see just how insane the improvement is, from initially garbage art to utterly god tier. This person isn't criticizing, they're just hating. Like they don't even specify what makes the art look uncanny.

I've been drawing for maybe 15 years but doesn't really improve much, I can't even coloring anything at all 😂 but I keep drawing because sometimes I poured my emotions into drawing, i'm not doing it to get acceptance/praise from other, I just do it for myself. And this is where I say that I think the whole sexuallity argument on fictional characters shouldn't exist. People really do use characters as archors to their sexuallity. I understand if the characters is made for representation and stuff but honestly why do people always make it apart of an argument. Why can't characters be characters and just be enjoyed amongst the community. I don't mind art from time to time but sometimes people really do go to far extents. That's exactly I started to get annoyed by ships because people ruin it or break into arguments.
There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself. It gives a feeling of validation.
But at the same you also can't breach other people's headcanon and demand they cater to _your_ interpretation of it. You're not only one who can like the character. These people don't understand that.

I feel bad for Riz ngl, I keep being told that my art is good and I thought that I was hallucinating daily, and then I see people like Saige bringing other artists down because they messed up on one body part.
I hope that Riz becomes a great artist like I (not really saying that I’m great but we need self-positivity in us time-to-time) and that Saige can be reminded that there was no point to bring someone down because of some flaw the person had, overall Riz’s art is very amazing even though I myself don’t know anything about the Genshin Impact Shipping Drama.
God i absolutely love that style, comes across as big hearted and adorable, love it.

I never trust my art to be good enough so having the balls to post stuff and facing idiots like that is very admirable. My favorite thing about Raiden Mei is they always ignore her lines with the Captain where she's outright coming on to him at higher affection levels and firmly establishes her bisexuality. And as much as they may hate it, the Captain is canon in Honkai lol.
