    Thanks for the unboxing! I'm glad they made this similar to a regular board game, especially with the quality of the box and the board. Very nice and probably more what people were hoping for with the Illumineer's Quest (although I enjoyed upgrading it on my own anyway).

    I would say the non inclusion of boosters is to keep collectors from buying up gateways for shots at enchanted cards. If they included first chapter boosters the resale market would be going crazy with these.

      @@brandong4063 definitely think you’re right. They’ve left zero reason for established players to buy the game, except to teach folks how to play. And there is no reason to purchase multiple.

    Would have thought the packs would have been opened as well.

      That’s fair. We’re just always sensitive to spoiling things for products with unlock-able components. I know we could have added a spoiler warning. However, we chose to gear the video to people considering whether to purchase the game and didn’t think the pack components would matter.
      But! If most viewers would prefer we examine every component in videos like these, we’ll take that into consideration next time. Thanks for the feedback!

      @Illumiteers I understand where you're coming from, but as someone who sees a "Should you buy it?" It's hard to come to a conclusion without seeing everything included. We can't really use the unboxing thumbnail when we don't actually open everything.
      I appreciate the partial opening.

    I've preordered this in the UK and I'm so excited to finally learn how to play it as someone who's new to Lorcana and trading card games! I've started collecting some boosters. One question, if the board acts as a playmat do you think you'd need to buy a separate one or could you use the board each time? I like your Moana one.

    • @Illumiteers
      @Illumiteers  2 місяці тому +1

      Great question! So...for the purposes of playing gateway, the board acts as a playmat. So, you don't need one yet. But, once you're ready to venture beyond gateway to play other decks, I would recommend purchasing a playmat for ease of travel.
      You can always use the board as a two player playmat. However, it is difficult to travel with, if that makes sense.
      Keep us posted on your Lorcana journey!
