@@Ol_Dirty_Brasky oh, thank you SO much! If there is any other content you are looking for or would like to help you on your Lorcana journey, please let us know!
Thanks for the overview, though if I can make one request - I always like it when starter deck overviews like this include some quick notes/grades for how interesting decks like these are for people more experienced with other TCGs. I understand videos like these are geared towards total novices but there's always a good chunk of people hopping over from other games, and they're the ones who know to look for videos like these to jump in quickly, so a quick rundown at the end can help a lot - and is also nice for total beginners who know they're on a tight budget and want something they can keep playing for a long time without feeling repetitive. Regardless I still think I got what I was looking for and will refer to this in the future, so thanks!
I missed the Decks from Luminare quests and the Gateway. In the End that are starters too and the Ruby/Saphire from Gateway seems pretty Fun and strong
Great video! I haven't watched too many Lorcana videos, to be honest, as I'm newer to the play portion of the game. I've been collecting the cards since the beginning, though only on a small scale. My purchases have been limited to a Trove and the Starter decks for each set, and occasionally a handful of extra packs. (Have only missed Ruby/Emerald from First Chapter and Inklands Trove.) I have yet to pull an Enchanted card, and my Legendary collection is quite small. I only started actually playing when my daughter came back from college for the summer, and we found a TCG group at the library to learn the game. But with all of that, we have been loving it. I've been playing Magic almost since its inception (1994), and I am big on theory-crafting decks. My daughter fell in love with the Merlin-Mim deck, and we've upgraded it quite extensively now (though not with any of the "money" cards - anything $10+). I have played a different deck almost every week at our LGS. I tried the Madrigal starter (barely modified), an Anna & Elsa deck I designed for my younger daughter (10 yrs old), Brooms, and finally a Pirate deck. I want to make Seven Dwarfs, Puppies, and Evil Under the Sea (Flotsam/Jetsam/Ursula). My biggest problem is acquiring the "money" cards, when I haven't pulled anything more expensive than a Maui to trade with, and so I wind up with budget versions that aren't as competitive. But I am enjoying the experience (though with my daughter back at college across the country, it has slowed down). Can't wait to see what is next!
I play a Starter Deck for each League. I add and develop the deck as the League progresses. I am currently playing a Madrigal Deck. By playing the Starter Deck I have an opportunity to get the extra point and bonus point for League. I enjoyed all the decks but must say my favorite was Merlin and Mim Bounce.
Love the video, thx! and i started with the dalmatians deck and i love that defender pluto, and we are at the moment playing structure decks torunaments on tuesday, on the local store.
Dwarfs will always be number 1 in my book. It was my first glimpse at tribal in Lorcana. But Madrigals is a close 2nd because they went so hard into the theme.
Hi new to your channel, would love to learn how to play Lorcana. Do you have a video of yours that you recommend I can watch to help me learn how to play the Lorcana TCG? Thank you 😜
@@Feanor2024 Glad I'm not the only one, I had a set I hadn't opened yet for Ursula's Return and I see it right there on the back. now I feel like I must have been blind in not seeing it.

As for someone who has never played a card building game, I watched your video for where to start. But you used a lot of terms I didn’t understand. Like “top decking”. No idea what that is. Just some feedback! Thanks for the info.
Top decking is a literal term where you are trying to get the card you want but you are limited to just drawing a card on your turn. I can understand the frustration though but sometimes just looking up the term helps as well like bouncing, which is slang for an effect that puts cards back into the opponent or your hand.
Understandable. We thought about it, but, the challenge is that this really dates the video. Prices change so frequently based on the meta, atm, that this metric could be out of date very quickly. So, as a proxy for that, we used cards that are played in the meta (our bonus criteria) and you’ll notice that throughout we highlighted when decks included meta relevant cards. And this sort of tracks as Lorcana cards derive most of their value from rarity and playability. If you are interested, the deck that wins that category is Might and Magic with a (currently) $5 Fox and $2 Rabbit.
@@xavierroyer5044 the overall list/rankings will be, yes. But market value of the decks could change much more rapidly. For example, tomorrow, someone could build an insane hero deck with Phil as a staple. He could go to $6 and immediately the pricing metric is out of whack. Prices are fickle… Now, we COULD do a separate list on the most valuable starter decks. But that would be different. With this video, it was more geared towards which deck is the best for a new player to buy to maximize learning and enjoyment. But for collectors, I understand that the value list may be more interesting! What other metrics would you use to rank decks in a video like that?
My deck is heavily built around Anna/Hercules, and I thankfully removed some of the worse elements for better ones(easily hand buildup and quick ink fodder)
@@garethm9523 it is…sort of. I mean - it is whimsical! It refers to the turn by turn plan for the deck culminating in the win condition. There are pro players who describe decks in TCGs this way. @@Jake-ve9bd no, it is a great deck. It just requires a bit of skill and experience to pilot properly. Hence, why it’s lower on the list. Probably not the best deck for a newer player, but, great overall!
