A great beginner workout. Not easy by any means but not so difficult you quit
This is the first beginner Pilates training I’ve seen that ACTUALLY seems aimed at beginners. So many are really hard workouts. I’ve been trying to get back in shape after some surgeries and illness for a few years and usually I overwork myself in 10 minutes because the “beginner” stuff is like middle school gym - no one explains anything. Thank you so much for this, I’m definitely going to check out your other beginner stuff.
Finally someone who knows what “beginner” means!! as in “I literally have no clue what any of this is, please talk to me like I’m 5 and walk me through this” and “if you try to make me workout too much I am going to get burnt out on one routine and never do this again.” This was PERFECT and I love the way you talk. I’m always that person who holds my breath when I workout and can never get the breaths in time with the instructor, I finally got them on this one thanks to your pace and instructions. Thank you!!!!

Great job! Nice early morning work-out. At first some of these exxercises look way too easy, but when I listen and do them the right way, I can literally feel my body loosening up and tightening up!

I'm so happy to have discovered Jessica's videos. I have had a prolapse for almost seven years now and it has been quite a journey. Knowing that Jessica has experienced this herself, plus the fact that she is a PT AND is a Pilates instructor, gives me confidence that she knows what I am going through and that she is doing exercises that are safe for me. She also talks and educates as she is doing the workouts which is sooooo much better than the counting down that so many others do as it takes my mind off of the work that I am doing. Kudos to Jessica and KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Dont know if your still reading these comments seeing how video is a year old but THANK YOU. especially the communicating, the form and posture and what these positions work on. Good old regular crunches were extremely pain full on lower back, these were great.

this was THE BEST beginner's workout video I've ever watched! usually, it's just copy the person, and they can do moves that are either too complicated to replicate (esp fastly!) or use too much strength. I've started working out a few months ago and i wish i had this when i started! i finally get crunches!! I'm proud to say i shook a little at the end, but mostly i barely felt it whereas before i prolly would have had a harder time. thank you so much!!!!!

This is exactly what I have been needing: a real full-core exercise set, verbal instructions so I'm not constantly craning my neck to look, a reasonable pace, and prompts to maintain good form, all without the constant window-rattling background music which overruns so many fitness videos

Appreciate the clear explanations. Sometimes when I do pilates or yoga I get a painful cramp in a foot or toe. It just happened while I was doing this video during the tabletop + leg and opposite arm movements. I'm in very good shape, 61 yo and workout and stretch regularly, but am perplexed by this! Thank you!

Hi Jessica. I love your pilates videos! Thank you for your detailed and calm explanations. I am having trouble with the "semi-side plank". I am not sure why this is so difficult to me, is it my abs, is it my arms or even legs? Do you have any tips how to strengthen my self to work towards getting this done? Thank you in advance!

I’m very grateful for the way you explain the what/how/why of these exercises. I developed my core in an inefficient way in my formative years and have been spending the last couple decades trying to figure out how to undo the old development and redevelop things properly. I’ve made a great deal of progress, but I notice I still have so much difficulty with roll-ups and similar exercises. My feet always lift up and can’t seem to stay grounded. Even in the final exercise of this video, when lifting my arms, my legs raise up and I lose the pose. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

First time doing one of your workouts. I just turned 69 and found this video easy to do. I look forward to working out with you again. I have had two c- sections and at least four other abdominal surgeries. I hate my pooch. I love working out and will add your channel to my list of favorites.

1. I'm happy with the talking you do. It's good to hear instruction as a complete newbie.
2. The exercise sat down and you stretch forward towards your toes, I can bearly move forward. How can I encourage flexibility or will it come with practice? X
