jajaja how was it? im in BSN now and im already looking for this information LOL and I'm not even an A's Plus student or nothing like that my GPA at the moment is 2.89 I'm average but I have high standards and big dreams BUT I nee to finish my Nusring I'm in my fifth year.. its been so hard for me but I have dreams... I hope you are about to finish your nursing school. Blessings good luck
Gonna do the job until age 55 then I'm done, done, DONE!!! Nothing but jet setting around the world, coconut lined beaches and plenty of rum. CRNA is def the best job in the world, and I would definitely not be able to say that were it not for the monetary benefits the job offers. However unfortunately we are bound by mortality and must take a step back and look at what can we do to help ourselves after helping the many you all will encounter. Bottom line, life is very short, enjoy this career, be good to it and it most assuredly will be great to you!
I really think you should go for it but keep in mind after you accomplish that you need the next thing for example a medical salesman or a employer just remember that that isn't the limit you could find a passion in something else after. Reach that goal then reach the next one
So right now focus on doing well in high school. Maybe volunteer with a hospital or ambulance corp to get some good experience and show interest in the field. If you’re still wanting to do this career towards the end of your high school career, you need to apply to a nursing program, preferably a bachelors of science in nursing (BSN) program. Many colleges offer nursing. You also need to do well in college. After you graduate college and pass your nursing boards, you need at least 1- sometimes 2- years of ICU (intensive care unit) experience. You can then apply to CRNA school. Most CRNA schools are becoming doctorate-level, so that will take you about another 3 years. After passing boards you’ll officially be a CRNA. It’s a long road, best of luck!
Don't worry about what classes you need in college. The college and your advisor will let you know. Focus on high school right now. Study for your tests and complete *all* your assignments to make good grades (A's and B's). Then after you graduate HS, apply to college as a Nursing major. You can either choose a 4-year university or a 2-year community college then transfer to a 4-year uni. Upon completion of a 2-year CC nursing program, you will take the NCLEX to become an RN. Then you can go to a university to complete your BSN or stay at the CC if they have a BSN program (save yourself thousands!). Upon completion of a BSN you can then apply to a DNP program for CRNA.

Anesthesiologist assistants are not nurses, they can not work in all 50 states and they can not work independently. CRNA's are nurses before going back to get their Masters or Doctorate in nurse anesthesia. CRNA's are able to work independent of physician anesthesiologists in many states and settings.
How did she get right into crna school without ICU experience? My understanding is that you need at least 1 year (more often 2) of ICU experience before you're eligible to apply
Also if you are in nursing school and you decide to have your preceptorahip in the ICU and they allow it, the clinical hours there can translate to one year. Most schools dont allow preceptorship as ICU but some do.
My understanding is she had an associate's degree in nursing first since she worked for 5 years as a Peds ICU RN, but got accepted into the program months after getting her bachelor's degree.
What’s motivating me on this path is that someone told me that by the time you are 30 years old, you will be 30 years old regardless of how much education you got. The difference is that you can either put in the time and the grind and have a very fulfilling career making enough money to support your family and desires, or be stuck wishing you would have done it. Just make sure to keep the flame alive and have plenty of fun along the way!
That process is very unlikely but it is possible. It would take a lot of time and effort and some patience. You might be classified as a non traditional candidate if you applied to Med school as a BSN holder. You would have to apply to medical school having done the prerequisites required for medical school and you would have to take the MCAT and have an undergraduate gpa of 3.8 or higher. After medical school you would have to specialize in an anesthesiology residency if you wanted to become an anesthesiologist.
This just made me even more excited. I gotta get through nursing school first though 😅
Ps: thank you Nurse Blake and Kathy!

how do you begin the career? I'm 15 yrs old and I have no idea where to begin. I don't know what classes and schools to go to, all this is so hard

Does nurse Kathy recommend getting MedSurg / or floor experience first before applying to the ICU
Currently in CRNA school. About to graduate in a few months. Go straight to the ICU out of school.
It’s so inspiring to see everyone else in the comments also saying that crna is their dream career, because same!!
Hi , difference between anesthesiologist assistant and crna please ?
Anesthesiologist assistants are not nurses, they can not work in all 50 states and they can not work independently. CRNA's are nurses before going back to get their Masters or Doctorate in nurse anesthesia. CRNA's are able to work independent of physician anesthesiologists in many states and settings.
What school/program did she go to? :)

At 02:01 she says peds ICU.
Also if you are in nursing school and you decide to have your preceptorahip in the ICU and they allow it, the clinical hours there can translate to one year. Most schools dont allow preceptorship as ICU but some do.
I believe she said that peds ICU was her specialty.
My understanding is she had an associate's degree in nursing first since she worked for 5 years as a Peds ICU RN, but got accepted into the program months after getting her bachelor's degree.
@@benjamincarson5536 I have never heard of a school allowing preceptorship as an ICU. Which schools allow this?
How many years of college/school straight out of high school do u have to do to be a CRNA
7-8 years

Can you go from a CRNA to an anesthesiologist?
No, unless you go to med school and complete an Anesthesia residency
That process is very unlikely but it is possible. It would take a lot of time and effort and some patience. It would not be an efficient path AT ALL
In my own opinion, nurses are taking over in anesthesiology, soon there would be less work them.
@@olubunmiolukunle3399 What do you mean by less work? Less work to who?Is that good or bad?

I wanna become crna so bad!
