    About me:
I am a wife, mom and CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist). I went to nursing school to get my ADN, started working and then went back for my BSN. I was a travel nurse for 2 years before starting CRNA school. I loved travel nursing so much but I also love anesthesia so I went back to school to become a CRNA. Fitness is a huge part of my life. I've competed in powerlifting and Crossfit. We are vegan because we are both huge animal lovers. We are also foster parents (awaiting the adoption of our daughter)!

I'm an RN. I could of graduated CRNA school this year at the ripe age of 26, however I got a job at the VA instead of going straight to the ICU and it opened up my eyes to other possibilities. Sure it would be easier to have my CRNA younger and only 2 years of college but then I wouldn't have known that the Army can pay for my entire CRNA program and I can be potentially debt free...my 2 cents ,✌️

Hi Rhianna, thank you for this video. I am a nursing student in my second year in Canada. I am interested in becoming a CRNA but unfortunately, that doesn’t exist in Canada, so only anesthesiologists run the show. I hope to move to the USA immediately I’m done with my program. 1. Do you know what the acceptance rate for people coming from Canada is or is it only American citizens they accept?

This is exactly plans, with the exception that I'm expecting to take more time between bsn and starting crna. I'm using that time to build up more money and likely take a couple of the required crna gens and lower my workload for when I'm actually in crna school

Im currently on this path I have two years ICU experience just got my CCRN and finishing my BSN in an 9 month program this year. I will take GRE then apply in early 2022. Dont forget about chemistries yall. I was never required to take any chem for my ADN or BSN program so this year I am taking intro chem, chem 1 and 2, and organic chem. The programs im looking at require O chem with at least a B to be competitive. This year sucks for me school wise but at least im getting it done. Also, not to be a debby downer but it is often hard to get into the ICU as a new grad even as a BSN much less with an ADN. I was lucky enough to get in as a new grad with an ADN but im definitely the exception not the rule. It probably depends on location also I'm near the texas medical center with a large amount of magnet facilities that literally won't even look at a new grad unless they are a BSN. If youre in a large metropolitan area you may have a better shot of getting into ICU right away if you have a BSN as a new grad. It's getting hard out there for an ADN lol. But it definately would be the fastest way if it all falls into place for you! I appreciate your videos and motivation Rhianna.

Hi John, wow! Your comment is helpful especially since Texas is where I was hoping to move to. What if for example you did a preceptorship in an icu for a final semester before graduating, would they still consider that even as a new grad?

@@adacanada I think something like that would help it would give you more face time with the manager and nurses on the unit. I wasn't trying to say its impossible to get into ICU as a new grad its definitely not, people start there all the time! Just not always a guarantee

That’s like another big city and I’ve been told to look into smaller cities but I don’t know... if it’s a favourable market I’m reconsidering Houston and changing to DFW and surrounding areas. I just don’t want to move to Texas and spend too much time jobless as a new grad nurse

A great idea for a future video. It doesn't sound like you did this because you're PRN it sounds like, but it would be great to get an idea of what sign on bonuses or loan repayment bonuses can be like for new grad CRNAs. I know every company doesn't do them and there is probably a reason why some companies have large bonuses, but it would nice to get an idea of what some companies have offered in the past. Even if you did like an anonymous poll from any CRNA friends of yours would be really nice!
