I'm an RN. I could of graduated CRNA school this year at the ripe age of 26, however I got a job at the VA instead of going straight to the ICU and it opened up my eyes to other possibilities. Sure it would be easier to have my CRNA younger and only 2 years of college but then I wouldn't have known that the Army can pay for my entire CRNA program and I can be potentially debt free...my 2 cents ,✌️

A great idea for a future video. It doesn't sound like you did this because you're PRN it sounds like, but it would be great to get an idea of what sign on bonuses or loan repayment bonuses can be like for new grad CRNAs. I know every company doesn't do them and there is probably a reason why some companies have large bonuses, but it would nice to get an idea of what some companies have offered in the past. Even if you did like an anonymous poll from any CRNA friends of yours would be really nice!

My local ADN program has an accelerated option which is only 1 year because they don’t take summers off. So finding an accelerated program can also cut down the time slightly but like you said - CRNA school is competitive and I’m worried an ICU won’t want a new grad, making the journey even longer.

Im currently on this path I have two years ICU experience just got my CCRN and finishing my BSN in an 9 month program this year. I will take GRE then apply in early 2022. Dont forget about chemistries yall. I was never required to take any chem for my ADN or BSN program so this year I am taking intro chem, chem 1 and 2, and organic chem. The programs im looking at require O chem with at least a B to be competitive. This year sucks for me school wise but at least im getting it done. Also, not to be a debby downer but it is often hard to get into the ICU as a new grad even as a BSN much less with an ADN. I was lucky enough to get in as a new grad with an ADN but im definitely the exception not the rule. It probably depends on location also I'm near the texas medical center with a large amount of magnet facilities that literally won't even look at a new grad unless they are a BSN. If youre in a large metropolitan area you may have a better shot of getting into ICU right away if you have a BSN as a new grad. It's getting hard out there for an ADN lol. But it definately would be the fastest way if it all falls into place for you! I appreciate your videos and motivation Rhianna.

Don’t it take two more years after your ADN? I thought it was a requirement to have a BSN to become a CRNA? Can you explain more please because I will be starting my nursing prerequisites this come January.

Hi Rhianna, thank you for this video. I am a nursing student in my second year in Canada. I am interested in becoming a CRNA but unfortunately, that doesn’t exist in Canada, so only anesthesiologists run the show. I hope to move to the USA immediately I’m done with my program. I have a few questions:
    1. Do you know what the acceptance rate for people coming from Canada is or is it only American citizens they accept?
    2. Do schools accept icu travel nursing experience? I have been browsing through some schools and didn’t see if schools would accept it.

Thank you so much for this video! I’ll be graduating with my BSN in May & start in a Med-surg floor in June. Should I have applied at an ICU floor instead? I’ve heard med-surg is great experience so I wasn’t sure.

Hoping you see this cause I’m really interested all of a sudden in becoming a CRNA as a final step as well.... I’m currently a CR Sterile Processing Technician so my department works directly with the OR. After completing my BSN, is becoming an OR Nurse an option opposed to becoming a ICU/floor nurse? Or is floor nursing a mandated 1st step for all grad nurses? I just figured why not stay within proximity to where CRNAs end up (in ORs) ? Thank you, really appreciate your channel.

Hi Rhiana! My one year in Medical intensive care unit is approaching. I just wanted to ask a few questions. Are CRNA schools picky/prefer specific ICU units over another like they’d choose someone with CVICU over Medical ICU? Additionally, is it possible to be a travel ICU nurse and then apply to CRNA school or would applications standout if one was a staff nurse?

I'm in my 2nd semester in my school's nursing program. I will have my bachelors degree when I'm 40 years old. Do you think there is any prejudice when trying to get into CRNA school based upon age? I think I'll be 41/42 when I would be finished with My bachelors.

I have a BS in engineering degree from a non-US university. My GPA was not great but World Education Services evaluated it as equivalent to a 4-year US degree. I also have a masters in management from a regionally-accredited US university. I would like to take up nursing as a second career (through an accelerated BSN program) and then apply to CRNA school after I get ICU experience. Would it be faster/better to do my studies in Texas or Florida? Your advice would be much appreciated.
