- There where really other issues and broken parts in this old Leica M2, much more than I expect. there where missing 5 teeth in the small gear wheel, that connect from the film advance gear to film drive gear.
I was a sad old camera...
Hi Kenneth (or Mike?),
i would like to say thank you very much for that great Tutorial!
I got the Clamps from China and with your Help i could seperate the M2 Topplate
very easy.
I repaired: A big Bump in the Topplate, the Plate below the Bump, Fog in the Fiewfinder and the Shutter speed.
Your Tutorials are very good and helpful, thanks a lot! 👍👍👍
WOW, I am really happy to know that :-)
Cheers
Kenneth (my name)
Thank you for the informative video.
Can you do a repair rangefinder for a certo six camera from the 50's?
So is that camera available for spare parts for l could use the film gather spool.?
Sorry, but no.
Do you have any of those extra film advancers still around? I’m looking for one for my M3
Sorry but but I do not have any spare parts for Leica.
I have an M3 with a film advance that has recently started to become very tight, progressively toward the end of the roll. Then rewind became even tighter until it jammed altogether.
Thinking of the broken teeth on the M2 you have here, I wonder if the user was experiencing the same, but instead of stopping, he forced it, overloading the gears until they broke off.
That's probably why. I mean in the end of the roll you can't advance anymore because the film is at limit. You need to rewind, not advance.
They are called sync contacts.
Shame 😔
Poor M2 :(
You send in your M for a lube and adjustment and they steal/switch your parts....
That's why I use FED2's. Nobody wants the parts. :)
