- Today we are installing a backup camera with hidden wiring onto my 2001 Toyota 4Runner! For this video, I'll be using my own custom made bezel. This makes the install much easier, but the install can be completed without the use of such a bezel. If you would like to use the products shown in this video, check out the links below!

Another SICMOD by snowbound customs! Keep up the good work my dude!
great tip with running the wiring through the tail light
Thanks man! I think I'll check everything out. Read the reviews on the Sony and the 1 stars were brutal! The 5 stars were raving, but, the 1 stars....at $490 something dollars, I'll have to do more research online to figure that out. Positive aspect is that I'm a total Sony guy, Sony headset in my other vehicle, Sony surround sound home system, and more. Sony, Sony, Sony everything else! Thanks again for the video!
I haven’t looked too much into other headunits. The main reason I went with this one is because of the physical buttons! My previous head unit from Panasonic had no physical buttons and it was really annoying to adjust the volume and etc
Thanks for spending nearly 10 minutes telling us how to hard stuff like drilling holes and removing screws and glossing over easy stuff like interior panel removal, dash removal and removing the head unit. 👍
Other than the little rubber angled pieces, how have you found to change the angle of the camera?
Any chance you got the measurements from each hole?
How did you connect the camera to come up with reverse and without reverse?
how much would it be to have it installed on a 2002 toy 4runner?
Hey Casey! I remember an old back up camera I had having to somehow wire into my e-brake for it to work. It doesn't seem like that's the case with this one; is that right and it plugs right into the back of the head unit? I have a very similar head unit that has the rear camera button as well, so I'm hoping it's really this easy! TIA, sir!
@@markrummans1532 many head units like the one I have have a video cable plug on it. This backup camera and many others just plug right into the head unit. There is also a wire coming out of my head unit that connects to the reverse wire on the camera wiring harness so the camera will come on when I put the car in reverse! I’m pretty sure almost all head units with a camera connection should have the same plug
@@SnowboundCustoms Thank you, sir!
Nice 👍🏽
The hatch is going to be full of water with that hole. There's bound to be a better way to rout the cable. Not to mention why would you ever drill a hole in the plate.
I believe I mentioned it in the video, but I recommended bringing the wires in through the grommet at the taillight. The other best option, which is a little advanced for most people so I didn’t mention it but it’s how I have my other camera wired in, is to bring the wires in through the factory wire loom. Also it doesn’t really matter if water gets in. There are drain holes at the bottom of every door panel. They are designed to have water go in them. Water always enters via the window seal and etc. in fact, the factory drain tubes for the sunroof actually dumps out inside of the body panels and the water seals out of the pinch welds
