6:38 Thank you for the hint, I spent all day trying to get the clip out, I thought it was a screw and try to get behind it, and then I watched your video I found the only function for the clip is for one person to install the mechanism, I have a diamond cutter that looks like a pipe, with the diamond around the tip of it, I just cut fingers off and railing was released. Nobody talks about it, they say it is hard to remove but it took 15 seconds to get rid of it.
Nice video. I want to run a test to confirm if my switch is bad or not, but the connectors are not separating. I feel like I’m gonna break something. Any suggestions?
If you are squeezing the little catch in the middle of the connector all the way it should come out pretty easy, but if its stuck you can use a small flatblade screw driver and gently use a twisting motion between the two halves of the connector working back and forth on both sides of the catch.
Thanks for the video! If the motor is already reinstalled without recalibrating, does it need to be removed? Is there any way to calibrate with everything installed?
If you didn't make the motor turn with it not installed, it should still be fine. Otherwise you will need to drop the motor far enough out of the frame for it to run without engaging the cables.
when press the open button, I hear a clicking sound from the motor, but it doesn't open. The clicking sound is there everytime I press it. Do you think I have a motor issue? or your issue with the cable? how would one diagnose?
That's what mine did too. Before I removed the sunroof I pulled the motor off the frame and it operated in both directions. That's why I had to go through aligning the motor to the sunroof at the end. You might be able to take out the bolts you can see and drop the motor down enough to get it out of the cables and operate it.
Does toyota part # 63221-35010 Casing, Sliding Roof Cable Guide come with the cables and stainless steel tubing? my whole worn drive is seized up and I need a whole new unit.

That part number is just the copper looking pipes. Mine was all seized in the pipes as well. Thats why I had to cut the cables out.
I’m sealing mine. Looks like a nightmare. I won’t spend any more time or money.
It’s bad enough dealing with window regulators
