Just a heads up. While the starter pokemon will never disobey you, other pokemon you catch in the wild will if you over level.
Thank you. I was pissed for his misinformation. Now people believe this.
Extra info, I recall you can overlevel your captured pokemon pre-gen 6, never tried overlevelling my pokemon past gen 5 so I hope someone can clarify me on this.
Exactly. I don't know why he thought that was true
@@CrowitzerTheHoloFan My pokemon are always overleveled and I can confirm that until Gen7/UltraSunMoon you can overlevel to your hearts content. You make a good point. Itd be interesting to see a Hop that crushes you in every rival battle up until Bede ends his winning streak, making him hit the ground even harder and then you lose to him every battle up until the final match in the champion tourney where you end his streak against you and make him question if you were just going easy on him until now. I definitely remember having my Charizard start to disobey me in Blue version way back in the day. Personally I think it’s a creative way to keep players from just land a one-hit KO on every gym leader. I’m not sure why they changed it.
from what i saw on the other comments only your starter always obey's you, it seems he was misinformed
@@theredhunter4997 no he wasnt misinformed you can with any pokemon you catch my friend had a lvl 100 pangoro before gym 4
@Stephen O'Brien this only applies to traded Pokémon or Pokémon there were not originally yours , just like in the anime how ash’s charizard didn’t obey was because it wasn’t originally his. I thought the same thing but I just I tried for my self and sure enough it’s correct. Pokémon sun and moon is the exception
But if you train a pokemom that high you kinda deserve the ohko
Oh ya I definitely had a charizard disobey me too....... I think there was a 30% off this happening in pokemon red...... Funny enough. No other pokemon has ever given me trouble
I doubt the self destruct move was specifically accounted for. Seems more like the game was just programmed to fail any aggressive move, even if that move would cause damage to the attacking Pokemon everything is canceled as no HP loss is allowed.
Arianna Fowler If you look at a certain video made by someone ( I forgot who it was ) They used their abamosnow and it’s special ability ( which is Snow Warning) Made it hail. None of the moves worked but the hail actually did damage!

One time i got a full team of legendary/mythical pokemon, from the crown tundra. They obeyed all moves. Only traded pokemon will do this. Its probably the way the game says. *0:13* There seems to be a lot of people believing the disobedience mechanic applies to *all* Pokémon regardless of ID number, even though it's only *ever* applied to *"outsiders"* (those without your ID number.) Unless Game Freak changed the game mechanic somewhere along the line and I wasn’t aware, Pokémon, since the early days of Gen I will *always* obey the original trainer that caught it, starter or not and no matter the level. To be fair, the games do a poor job of properly explaining the obedience mechanic; Misty says something like "The Cascade Badge makes *all* Pokémon up to level 30 obey, that includes *even* outsiders." Implying that even your own Pokémon could disobey if overleveled. For an example, if your Trainer ID number is *000123* and your Pikachu’s Original Trainer (OT) number is *012458,* you *will* need badges to control that Pikachu (because it's an considered an "outsider") but you *will not* need badges for any Pokémon with the ID *000123.* Earning badges is essentially the way trainers "earn the respect" of Pokémon they didn't catch or hatch, as stated way back in Red & Blue by a random NPC in Pewter City, *“Our Pokémon's an outsider, so it’s hard to handle. An outsider is a Pokémon that you get in a trade. It grows fast but it may ignore an unskilled trainer in battle. If only we had some badges…”* All in all, obedience is essentially a fail-safe designed to prevent the player from trading over their best Pokémon from a completed save file and utterly dominating with overleveled Pokémon. *2022 edit:* it seems like the open world games (Legends Arceus & Scarlet/Violet) changed the obedience mechanic so that if you catch Pokémon *above* the obedience level, they may not obey you (even if you caught them in your own game.) Apparently, if you catch them *under* the cap and level them over your current cap, they will still obey you (but I'm still waiting on more information.) I sort of understand this change in an open world environment since there’s practically nothing stopping you from going to a high-level area, catching Pokémon, and wrecking low-level areas, however it doesn’t *really* make sense because nothing *ever* stopped you from over-levelling your Pokémon (or trading to completed game, over levelling them and trading back) *in the past.*
There are a few things I would like to clear up.
First off, to give more context, any pokemon will obey you no matter what badges you have as long as that pokemon's TID, SID, and OT are your own. You can use third party software such as PKHeX to make pokemon with your TID SID and OT, trade them to yourself using a sysbot or direct injection, and they WILL obey you.
Secondly, using PKHeX (the software this dude used in the video), or any other injection software to Gen mons will NOT get you banned and is just a scare tactic. If you want to Gen mons, while being "safe" just use a sysbot, its not that hard
That is all, this will probably get buried but I hope I cleared a few things up.
Edit: Reworded start of comment from "A lot of things are wrong in this video" to "There are a few things I would like to clear up."
I didnt even know pkhex existed before now lol
"First off, any pokemon will obey you no matter what badges you have as long as that pokemon's TID, SID, and OT are your own." yes, that is exactly what I said, I don't see how I got that wrong when that was exactly my point, I got literally 1000s of comments saying it wasn't true and I wanted to dispel it once and for all
@@PDWinnall then i didn't understand what you said exactly in the video, which is my bad, and I should have watched the video more carefully. The latter of my points is still true though, as I haven't heard any instance of someone getting banned for genning, and TO get banned for genning, you have to do some really stupid stuff with the software to get online play revoked.
You should try to use the bike without the key item
It's possible, it's actually a glitch on a bridge
1) Try catching Zacian in the Weald as you dont have balls yet
2) Does hop say something different if you win the first match but win the 2nd? He isnt undefeated in this case
3) Can you encounter Zacian with no pokemon?
I saw somewhere that someone got their pokemon to faint and it legit just kept the story going. I think it actually makes more sense because its says your character blacked out if you lose a battle and what to we see after we battle the legendary pokemon in the slumbering weild? That our character blacked out. Oh and that person also got Zacian to faint by using some combination of moves and hail and the game just continued as normal.

Love these experiments. Thanks! 😊 👍
Try going into the fight poisioned instead against Zamazenta and look if your pokemon is able to faint from that

When you said no matter what level a pokemon you caught is that it will always obey you is false. Only the starter will obey you always, don't assume, my dude.
It has always been that your Pokemon aren’t affected by gym badges and only traded Pokemon are, so I would presume there is no worry. Also, the text when receiving the badges reveal it is also on what Pokemon you can catch(or the level they can be caught at). They tend to tell you when you get the badge
I have actually done research, and what PD says is correct. The game recognises only outsider pokemon to disobey. The scenario may be ingame traded pokemon, as they count as outsider pokemon.

Poke-busters sounds like a final smash name
PokeMyths!
MYTH: Can you change the legendary at the start of the game to another pokemon on remove the fog/invincibly thing so that you can kill it after you do kill it what happens
Man, that’s for the first thing I had no idea, I always thought if my Pokémon got to over leveled they would stop obeying me...
You can damage Zacian or Zamazenta in the Slumbering Weald by using the stuff like hail etc
*Myth: What if you use Destiny Bond in a raid battle? Will it insta-kill the boss?*
Cant
doesnt let you, unfortunately
You know I thought about the same thing but with using “perish song”… It just didn’t work 😪
Can yu fish without a fishing rod?
Next myth buster(if there is one)
Shadow Tag not working doesn't surprise me in the slightest, because if you pay attention to what's happening, these are scripted scenes in the battle that makes the battle just...end after three turns. It's not considered a flee, and thus it doesn't trigger Shadow Tag's effect. I noticed that battles in these games are more heavily integrated into the overworld scenes and gameplay. Not too often do story related battles actually have a transition animation. The scene just...leads into them seamlessly. And certain actions in battles trigger certain dialogue from the opponent, like supereffective or critical hits landing, taking out a pokemon or losing yours, or changing the weather, etc. Or dialogue just plays through each turn. Scenes themselves blend into battles more. So I'm really not surprised Shadow Tag just doesn't work because the battle is considered a SCENE more than it is a battle. And Shadow Tag doesn't really stop scenes from playing through.
Heads up: While Self-destructing doesn’t work, if you give a Shedinja something that damages it (such as a flame orb) it WILL die. This (I believe) softlocks the player after sending them to the first Pokecenter, as it thinks they have already gotten to the point where you have everything you need for the main part of the game.
Can you struggle yourself to death at the first zacian/zamazenta fight?
Imagine your Pokémon committing suicide in front of a legendary Pokémon
I like that they got rid of the non-obeying aspects of pokemon and over leveling. its much more difficult to not over level with exp share being default now.
I think the slumbering weald encounter in the beginning is an interactive movie and does not trigger any battle mechanics thats the likeliest probability given the results of your experiments
What if zacian/zamazenta weren't immune to attacks at the beginning?
Nope it was like that in let’s go the gym leaders even said
_"Feel free to dislike if you didn't enjoy."_
This man has earned my respect and admiration. Alas, I have no choice but to sub.
For the sake of challenging myself on my journey, I do do breed and trade new Pokemon in order to get that experience of having to earn the badges, otherwise they might not listen if their levels exceed what I can raise. Still, I wish the game would actually work that way. I know it would be annoying to many but that would give real significance to the badges and the league system as a whole. I believe they were in the right step with requiring you to have certain badges in order to catch higher level Pokemon in the wild area. Otherwise it would have just been easy enough to catch something at level 50 right off the bat for your first gym battles. But really, just extend the same treated of traded Pokemon to the ones you can naturally catch in the game.
Can someone explain for the first one please? In my playthrough, I used candies and my Tranquill ( I caught pidove) got too level 26 before milo. Then whenever I battled, It said ‘Tranquill pretended not too hear’

The poster of the video is wrong. The starter will never disobey you, but others can.
