Should Battlefield Be More Realistic..?

- A surprising number of people seem to want the Battlefield franchise to go in a more realistic direction like having bullets 1-shot you. Let's have a chat about why that would be a terrible idea 😅
The only realism i lean towards in BF franchise is the graphics, sounds, effects and maybe gore, like partial dismemberment
And gun animations/models.
...and destruction, which has been lacking the past few titles.
@@HeyManNiceShotxBF1 and BF5 had good destruction, just BF2042 that dropped the ball on that.
@@rataide99 BF5 was ok, and I honestly don't remember any destruction in BF1, Aside from blowing out craters, but I could be wrong. I want Bad Company style destruction back. Not just set pieces going off.
i've always thought battlefield could be a little more violent. really get your mileage out of the rating. it's not like it's totally necessary but it would be kinda cool to see.
The one feature i do absolutely want in the next Battlefield is to be able to drag downed teamates to cover. Maybe support types can carry them away on thier backs.
I'm not looking for a mil-sim game, but I do want immersion. The environment should feel like a real world, not a plastic world like the current game.
I want it to feel real , to feel at war ( BF1 did this so well) BF should be boots on the ground and be grittier than 2042. But 2042 is a tad too arcady. I think BF would be better off without the jump- slide-cancel and bunny hoping mechanics. Return to the roots... the perfect mix between arcade and milsim. Right there in the middle with over the top action scenes and amazing graphics. For me BF needs to be super immersive and cinematic. BF has no direct competitor. They should just double down on what makes them special and try to follow to many trends.
Short answer bring back hard core mode like we had in BF4 for those who want closer to realism.
i still dont understand why they got rid of this or made it dumbed down versions of "hardcore" that we had in bf4.
@@JoshuaDay0550 Miss ya there bud maybe one day we can get back on but til then we have hell let loose atleast.
+1
yes PLEASE
I play in Portal with mild HC it way better game that way! 99% of my gameplay is in Portal
@@JoshuaDay0550 also i think both of our pics on here are from one of the BGW atlants trips lmao
Bf 2 and Bf V were a little more realistic but they were great. If done correctly - why not
Bf2 was more harcore and yet still had some arcade feeling to it.
@@thomasromer5369 100%
@@thomasromer5369 True but slower paced and more 'tactical' than today's BF games which is a sugar rush slop fest.
How tf is BFV realistic.
you die faster in this game than you do in real life if you were shot at.
people who want these things for Battlefield are just too scared to admit that they can't comprehend ARMA and its gameplay
The most realistic game : *dies* gets instantly banned from server with a message that writes “YOLO”
The only realism I kind of want in the game and I know a lot of people are going to completely froze and disagree with me is that headshot kills should be treated as melee kills chills that you can't revive people from you have to respond
I would love mil-sim Battlefield. The realism of people dying in one shot while I spend the whole match controlling a Reaper drone in Texas, calling for a precision airstrike. Supercool gameplay.
Great content, Ghost. I definitely agree with you about BF being an arcade game, but if you consider that realism in games can be a relative and broad term. I think that a great idea for a video would be a sort of categorization of the realism that we should see in BF and what we shouldn’t see. For example, realism in graphics, weapons, player movement, or even environmental realism that includes destruction (levolution 😅). Cheers
To be fair some of the .50s in game do require up to 7 rounds to get a kill. Such as roof mounted MGs on tanks and other vehicles, those are .50 but do similar damage to an assault rifle.
I have to agree with Enders, there shouldn't be any possibility of creating Milsim servers in Portar, There should only be the possibility of playing normal and the Hardcore version but of the battlefield itself.I hope that in the next battlefield it returns to normal, this problem divides the community. The other thing I would like to have in the next battlefield was the ability to search for servers and change teams like in BF4, In Portal It's also not possible for admins to change teams during the game, that's make no sense at all.
My only issue with killing anything in BF2042 is that flares on choppers regen way too quickly; well that and Nightbirds are able to tank too much dmg
Rage bait lmao
Clear did you fly heli one time?
I love the BF4 hardcore. That was the GOAT Battlefield for me. It has the perfect balance of time to kill. 3 or 4 bullets for rifles, 1 or 2 bullets for snipers, Limit number of snipers, no auto health regeneration, and no mini map. The tanks were also kinda balance because whilst they are deadly. They can't rely on auto regeneration.
100% milsim, no. But there were some official modes run in Portal (usually with BF3 stuff) where the damage was a bit higher, and it had no killcam.
Not all BF3 servers, find BADBOYS SERVER , it is exactly what you wrote. playing there for 3000 hours.
try it
Aesthetically it should be realistic. With its skins, maps, and lore. Gameplay should be arcadey
I think people are getting realism and immersion confused. This is what I feel the next game should have, in no particular order:
1. Suppression similar to BF4
2. Keep all cosmetics, maps, guns, ect all military, nothing goofy or out of place
3. Realistic weapon sounds to make the guns sound more meatier
4. Visual recoil, because guns are supposed to bounce around to an extent when firing your weapon.
5. Advanced destruction
6. Very gritty
7. Lean mechanic, similar to WW3, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege
8. Interesting maps. Give us maps in a downtown city like areas that are destroyed and debris everywhere. A map like a huge indoor shopping mall or large grocery store. Dense Jungle Maps. Just some ideas.
9. Soldier movement mechanics from or similar to BFV. Bring reloading while ADS from 2042.
10. Basic Class System from older games. No operators with unique abilities. Battlefield never was a hero shooter. Give us different options to customize our soldier for each class and faction. Keep it military!
It's really not that complicated to make a great Battlefield game. Take what BF3/BF4 had, add extra mechanics that BFV had, make the game gorgeous looking and well as sound beautiful.
P.S - We do not need a fast time to die like 2042 has. A lot of times I get lazerbeamed and killed instantly. Never had that problem in BF4, was always able to reverse the outcome of a gunfight.
As a sniper and a heli pilot since bfbc2 I can understand why people say they want it more realistic. (Not saying that I agree with the post but I got few other points of view to consider)
-Vehicles in previous games felt much more balanced with higher risk/reward, one AA missile to attack heli and you're almost disabled unless you have auto repair or must land to repair manually. Every 'Fly By' was quick and calculated (in and out), there was no option to just charge your heli into battle and tank so much damage in the middle of the map like you're a flying Abrams Tank. And btw tanks didn't feel like they were made of marshmallow where one jet run wipes them, with the stupidly inaccurate HMG on top, they were actually tanking and destroying everything in their path BUT still could be disabled from one RPG to the rear (Hope you see the intricate balance and realism I felt back in the day on Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3)
-The weapons\movement animation in BF3 was the best in the series IMO (no sliding or gliding or grappling) paired with amazing destruction ("No door? Let's make one" mentality)
-I remember playing the stationary AA in the middle of the Heavy Metal map (BC2) or the AA in the bases of Operation Firestorm (BF3) shooting everyone who tries to baserape, it seems to be like a long distant memory now that people feel comfortable camping the other teams base sometimes killing people right as they spawn, which we can all agree, is a dick move. (the thought that stationary AA in the spawn base will be unnecessary in a game where each team got 2 Jets and 3-4 Helis each is kinda retarded, at least we got one on the smallest map almost w\o aircrafts LOL, talking about Haven)
-FOR FOCK SAKE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL METRO MAP FROM BF3 (with an option to "no explosives" mode) Still remember the day the Beta of BF3 released with this map, was buggy&laggy but fucking amazing
-Weapons were much more balanced and unique in previous games (LMGs were usable! I remember running and gunning with the M240B on metro and then switching to the M60 and actually hitting people with it even tho it kicked back like a truck) every weapon was unique and build variety was immense, today I see people use the same 5 guns in rotation almost every round. Correct me if I'm wrong but every season EA released new guns for BF2042 that were OP on release (so people who 'buy' the guns enjoy the overpowered-ness) and by the time non-paying players unlock these guns, suddenly they are patched and nerfed, making players that pay OP for paying like a P2W game until everyone else who didn't pay unlocked the gun, like with the RM-68 and VHX (Maybe it's my conspiracy theorist brain talking but EA was always known for grabbing players by the wallets which seems didn't change much so making a weapon extra strong behind a paywall don't sound that crazy for them)
-Normal classes were the best. (even tho it's unprofitable for EA because they will have less skins to sell us LOL, no weapon restriction is still nice tho)
-Remember when pressing the spot button on a friendly would shout out automatically 'need ammo\medic' depending on the friendly's class instead of searching a menu of messages?
-Net code was much better than today which obviously makes the game more realistic AND immersive (seeing your bullet make contact but no damage taken is very unrealistic😂)
Sorry for the long post, I'm just an OG who misses all the goodness and realism we had back then, Please feel free to add more points like this, this takes me down memory lane, plus maybe we can spam Ghost so he can spam EA for us so the next game WILL be realistically realistic like previous titles😏
I completely agree to your argumentation. As an old guy I am playing BF since 1942. Playing BF for me is to have a good time to have some fun! You can easily step in, play an hour and the you can have a good time with your family. When you are playing a MIL SIM for me it is too serious. I would have to think too much and probably I would have much less fun because I would be too often angry with myself or with my co-players because the wrong decisions were made within the match.
These are the people that watch me fight 4 enemies on Redacted and won't shoot a single rd into enemy.
Next Battlefield game could be more potential realistic. Where it should have "dismemberment" which of you shot a sniper on forehead the amount of blood, spewed out and create peephole. That can easily see the brain
BF4/MoHW aesthetics, gameplay of BF4 (with the smooth feeling from BFV), better graphics, sound design and destruction. Instant buy for me.
Add proximity chat, it is such a booster for teamplay + it adds to immersion so much better
but mainly, battlefield should always be primarily an arcade shooter. Focus mainly on graphics and immersion
The only realism BF should have is visual realism. Like animations, graphics, weather effects, blood, etc.
I miss the more taticak gameplay of battlefield 2
Just bring back Hardcore mode by stopping the stupid Specialist system. Team A vs Team B, not Michael using a butcher apron with a grappling hook...
It’s a discussion that will never end. Hardcore servers exist. You’d think they’d play that or another game.
The only realism I would like implemented is CHAT to work and Lis missiles not going underground.
I think what we see here is a reaction to helicopter players going 80-0 and it's virtually impossible to take a single nightbird down
The only thing re. Gameplay that I personally would really like to see changed is the twitch, max damage, twitch movement. To me it feels like it’s nipping on the heels of other fast paced arcade shooters which I find to sweaty.
They have got it spot on in past titles and I’d really like to see that on ‘bf2025’. 👍
Nothing against the bullet balance, apart from the one shot headshot nerfs at zero range with anything other than a sniper rifle.
I believe the reason people like the Milsims on portal is because they're constantly spotted. For me that's the biggest problem on BF. We're in a situation where sometimes were afraid to shoot someone because we don't want the whole team to know where we are.
If they jets 30 mm damage system and add splash damage that would be awesome imo.
Lol 😆 The second biggest comment is "Aerial vehicles have infinite flairs" 🙈 Not to insult or demean anyone, but we all know why these comments are made.
The one thing that shouldn't be realistic is damage. Other than that, everything should feel real. Physics mostly, but also aesthetics.
❤ Yes battlefield need's to be more hardcore / realistic & it's hard to argue other wise when i'm killing infantry with tank's, rocket's & attack helicopters.

I just want sniper lens flair to be realistic and maybe no revival on a headshot
A 100% with you. If they do this nonsense, they should modify the use os suppresors, they add a little velocity to the bullet. The solution is if you like 1 shot 1 kill, go play hardcore servers and everybody would be happy or play a milsim game
The Apache's / Jets are too hard to shoot down sometimes. A good pilot can literally ruin a match for a team on certain maps. The Viper / apache really shouldn't be allowed on some maps. As far as the guns go, I agree, it would be nice if the guns were a little more damaging. I miss the Hardcore servers. The new battlefield really lost a lot of the things I loved through the server browser / match making system they have now.
it depends on what is exactly is meant by "more realistic", and weather or not its actually done in a way that is both beneficial to the overall game design, and is consistent.
If your going to go for realism then fine, go for it. but you can't do a half and half system like we had in bfv because that was terrible and no one enjoyed it.
❤ If you suspend disbelief the game actually is somewhat depicting what fighting solider's wearing body armor would be like.. I like to think of it like 50% armor +25 extra.. if you are playing as Assault class using IBA Armor plates.. & 50% health & i do believe the 12.7mm x 108 & 20mm utilized by both light infantry & armored infantry are a one shot kill directly on light infantry & can kill multiple light infantry if lined up front to back & or side by side for example.. also some of the bolt action rifles can one hit kill on torso if configured... How ever head shots from weapon's chambered in rifle caliber's should be 1 to 2 bullet's Depending on the weapons max mid range if it's .22 caliber & 1 Bullet if it's .30 caliber & up.. once again depending on were the weapon's max mid range is set.

I respectfully disagree,
BF 1, 5, and 2042 were too arcady compared to BF 2, 3, and 4. I played nothing but hardcore on those games and I had way more fun than playing on normal. I felt I actually had to really think about strategy while running in those games. Actions had rewards as well as conswequences. While there does need to be a balance, 2042 just felt like CoD no matter what mode I played. I still play it but man gets real tedious and boring sometimes. Don't get me wrong, 1 and 5 were awesome but I prefer 3, 4. Hopefully the next game will have a proper and balanced hardcore mode so people can enjoy it right.
It needs to feel grounded and epic; gameplay needs to be fun, that's all.
I also feel that everything needs to be slowed down. Maybe slower movement or ttk?
There are some points I agree with those people.
Bullet example:
- Jet 25mm gun does 40 damage per hit. 3 hits for a kill. Nice and balanced.
- Jet 30mm does 11!!!(Yes ELEVEN) damage. Why in Kevin Jhonson's name do I have to hit someone 10 times with a 30mm jet cannon that has terrible accuracy and range in order to kill an infantry? Why can't it be 2 hits? or even keep it at 40 damage per hit. That won't turn the game into a mil sim.
Another point would be UI and general feel of the game. Things such as
- Military radio chatter during loading and while in a vehicle
- More realistic infantry and even more importantly vehicle UI based closer to the real world vehicles. You know....something that we had in previous games aka BF2, Bad Company, BF3 and BF4? 2042 UI is too flashy, too bright, has too much unnecessary clutter and overall is unpleasant to look at. Remove YOU'RE BEING LOCKED ON, PRESS X NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!"
- More realistic SOUNDS for weapons and UI like Stinger lock ons buzzing sounds instead of continues "beep"
Battlefield should be fun and if its in the style of BF3/4 it would not hurt either for the playerbase
When we talk about realism in Battlefield, we actually mean the audiovisual experience/atmosphere that the previous games used to have. THAT'S what has to return for the next game. We don't want another soulless and generic shooter like 2042
Yes, it should.
It should shift a bit and have its place between current Battlefields and games like Hell let Loose in terms pf depth.
Now it plays like call of duty with blobs of mindless chickens running from one objective to another and back to one.
Many people are tired of it really.
I agree in general with not wanting too real of a sim. But there are still ways to improve to separate from spray fest COD. Make weapon weight more real, like running with a heavy weapon. Balance the vehicle and anti vehicle systems. Really good helo pilots are impossible to kill solo. Recoil should be more of a thing, especially while moving. Every gun should feel different. Tank rounds should have way more impact. Still a ways to go.
I dont need ARMA, but BF4 was a nice balance of options. What i dont want is an instakill with a throwing knife, but shrug off heavy mg or rocket fire....its just stupid.
Realism.... how much realism. When i ask myself the tyoe of realism i want ,
I think about really good visuals and destruction, i think of outfits maps and characters design that actually look believable and not like a hero shooter but something more grounded albeit in the future. Bullet drop and ground deformation. Animations and subtle animation details, sounds of breathing amd clothing/equipment moving about. Vehicles and aircrafts designs with sound that booms and echoes destinctly through each emvironment. The rest of the game just needs to be fun and be teamworl oriented. Give the vehicle driving some weight like every modern BF game before 2042.
Maybe the having the game menus be in game things like pulling out a tablet for your map , scoreboard and other ingame tasks .
Bullet realism would be interesting like having things ricochet distinctly on different surfaces or if you get shot ik your legs or arms it alters the gameplay as you are injured and have to limp or get dragged out of combat situations.
This sort of mechanic would makes Battlefield feel so much more realistic but i could see it being a hardcore mode mechanism.
But i think for hardcore player Battlefield would become more milsim. I kind of want that iif im being honest. It would be cool as there arent many milsims on console at the moment.
Unless consider one if the br and survival type if games milsim?
If they make it more realistic I think I would be done playing Battlefield.
what people really want is authenticity and nor realism, most cant tell the difference between the two. BF3 and BF1 are extremely AUTHENTIC but not realistic in the slightest. Authentisity brings immersion which is what everyone seems to crave.
Mixed feelings, I do think that a .50 cal round or 40MM grenade to the chest...SHOULD...at the very least, do more damage than a throwing knife to the foot...but it is what it is. BF tends to reward things that require more skill. Blasting away with an HMG or 40MM grenades don't require as much skill, as flying around in a wingsuit, hitting people with throwing knives at 100 meters, thus don't do as much damage.
I agree with your opinion mostly, but: Hardcore mode in bf4 was really good, so maybe they could bring that up in the next bf as an option again. I would be content if they just removed the overly large indicators for incoming grenades.
I see BF as an arcade shooter too, but I really hope Dice leaves the path they are taking now, meaning that it seems they are turning bf into a second call of duty.
I dont get why people want some fancy skins or even weapon charms in a military shooter. And some of the skins you get during the seasons are just ridiculous. I don't want this in a bf game, it's just silly.
Personally I also dont enjoy battle royal much, but as long as I'm not forced to play it that's fine with me.
What I really hope for is a better way to join games, I hate matchmaking, but if they want to keep it maybe they can enable some selection-interface where you can define what maps you wanna play etc.
And they should encourage teamplay even more, just yesterday I played a round where some guy in my squad had like 60 kills but just didn't revive his teammates.... frustrating.
Other than that, I will definitely not buy the new bf on the first day, maybe not even within the first month.
Edit: keep in mind that bf has thousands of players, 200 people who think it should be more realistic are not really relevant
Battlefield just needs more Battlefield…
No there isn't a shortage of milsim-type games, but there isn't a shortage of casual shooters either. I think that makes the argument that people should play those milsiim-type games a mute point.
There is a shortage of games in between though.
It's either to much arcade or too much hardcore. Battlefield could easily fill that void, but devs are too busy copying cod.
@@alexander3025 EXACTLY, something like BF2/2142 but with AAA PRoduction values and QoL stuff done since then could be really interesting.
100 percent should be more realistic. Needs HC mode! Needs to be the perfect balance between realistic and arcade
Couldn't agree more. However, this is EA and if Greyzone does well, they'll probably tell Dice to just remake that.
Well they could make the nightbirds to have limited ammo for once instead of the overheat mechanic with unlimited ammo. I'm pretty sure pilots would be more careful with their spray and pray.
Well, finite ammo, health stretches too far in the milsim genre. Same as One-Hit-Kill.
I'm all for reload mechanics. If we had long reload times but you could also replenish vehicle ammo faster in the base it would be the sweet spot because you could still have powerful vehicles and be cautious with their use on the Battlefield. Having to go to the base all the time breaks immersion, so I'd rather have something in between BF4 and BFV.
Oh god no, dont bring back that god awful resupply system from bfv.
Add a really long regen to the ammo where it takes a minute or two, but forcing a pilot (or just any vehicle driver) to go the a specific point on the map to resupply was a terrible system.
interestingly you can actually dump 500, 1000, 2000+ rounds out of a minigun and it will not ( well, is not supposed to ) fail from heat. I have seen guys turn minigun barrels red almost getting into yellow colors of visual heat and the gun just kept going in destructive test runs.
in fact, a perfect example of this - FPS Russia's Video ua-cam.com/video/d84r8gMGxFQ/v-deo.html
So yeah, take away the overheat and make it finite ammo, minigun fires roughly 50 rounds a second, so yeah, little bird typically carries a 2500 round box per gun. let em learn how to use the ammo and then conserve it to stay on the battlefield longer
and all vehicles should go back time to time refuel ..and that friendly fire should be full on
There’s already the NTW that one shots at certains distances and yet there a gun classes of guns that can do that the SVK is two to three shots
They just have to get better at aiming and at the game in general
Your criticisms are a bit extreme. There is a big difference by one-shot vs. just fewer bullets for a kill. Helicopters have infinite ammo, flares and can be repaired in-flight. The only way they get shot down today by infantry is if they camp so openly for so long that someone finally gets a kill shot.
I've never played Battlefield Hardcore, but I have played insurgency sandstorm, and my god, i would lose faith in dice if they tried making battlefield into insurgency. As fun as it is,it's the game where you literally need to use your eyes and ears. Combine that with battlefields vehicles and it'll be a nightmare
Mil Sims are big on Portal and I think there fun.
Realism no, immersion yes
I don't think the ttk should be completely realistic, I just dont think it would make for a fun game though there are exceptions. insurgency sandstorm has a good balance between ttk being kinda realistic and the game being fun while surprisingly being somewhat balanced.
Why not have a HC mode , like seriously,,, thats why i create in portal,,, but then they messed up the portal system,,, just sad in imo
as a player who preferred the hardcore modes of bf3 and bf4 I think the mode is way to frustrating in 2042..one shot one kill is a bit ridiculous...
OMG! EA needs to stop taking game advice from people who don't play the damn game! The TTK for BF has always worked for BF! Now, needing 4 or 5 RPGs to take out a tank is just stupid, same as needing 3 anti-air missiles to take out a jet. One of the reasons BF2042 is not a fan favorite, is because EA/Dice went away from historic BF gameplay! I hope what they are saying is true and they are going to go back to the basics w/ the next game. Because if they try to "re-invent" the wheel again, I'm probably just going to pass on the next one.
To a certain extent there are PLENTY of variables that absolutely DO need to be changed to be more realistic without ruining the fast action arcade aspect. the biggest one................. DOZERS SHIELD!!!! How is it we can kill Irish's Ballistic Shield, but not Dozer's shield, they are the same thing, one is just static, the other is just handheld. it being completely impervious is beyond wild. it should be able to be destroyed and then you have to wait a small amount of time before you can deploy it again.
Every specialist special item can be destroyed or has a limited time effect, EXCEPT DOZER.
Im sorry, but no, i get that Dozer can still be killed, but come on, a 100% impervious shield that stops a TANK ROUND and does only so much damage to the player? You should be pink mist at that point.
One thing imo DICE could do is make lock on missiles behave more realistically. They shouldn't be able to make 180 degree turns when tracking aircraft/helicopter. Idk maybe i'm just a shitty pilot lol
they also do not track through solid objects like sky scrapers and hills, or giant walls for that matter.
Prior BF versions got this right, they fly as straight a path for a intercept course, if the lock is broken, they either self destruct or just fly off a random direction.
If they don't fix the netcode for the next game realism will be the least of their problems. If your behind the netcode as I am 2042 has become a casual shooting not worth more than 10 quid. Why spend money on extras if it just doesn't work.
Some people love one shot toe-shots, and will fight to the death of a game for it. It takes very little ability to instantly kill targets by shooting at the feet and legs, or choosing the highest rate of fire weapon in the game for insta-kills - it becomes first see, first kill. The reason ZERO time to kill is in Call of Duty is because it's being made to be accessible to anyone playing. This is not Battlefield, nor would I ever want it to be. I want to have to aim, locational damage that matters, and maintain accuracy, allowing for return fire and out matching my opponent with better reflexes/accuracy/strategy.
I'm okay with Hardcore mode, but it's such a small niche that's up to Dice, and there are PLENTY of mil-sims out there where people sit 1,000 meters away prone in a bush or poking through a crack in the wall from their spawn one shotting players. IMHO, "realistic" doesn't work in games because real life war isn't fair, you can get ended from shrapnel and virtually anything on the battlefield instantly, a child could be buried in the sand and shoot you when you walk by - this is impossible to balance in a game and it's not fun on the receiving end having some chip eating mouth breather in the corner of the map shooting at peoples toes climbing the scoreboard.
there seems to be a very small but loud community that wants realistic games. But realism never equals fun. Im all for immersion in games even in cod and battlefield, but realistic gameplay features just equal in skillless gameplay. Games like Squad, hell let loose and insugency are the best proof for that. 90% of your death are completely random. you just get killed by one of the million angles you have to worry about. I understand the appeal for their audience, but that stuff has nothing to do with BF or COD
My man 100% on your side with this.
They should go and play Rainbow Six Seige and leave us alone !
Or you should go play call of duty and leave people who wants more grounded battlefield alone. It could work both ways.
@@alexander3025 wdym a "grounded bf?
I don't think it needs to be realistic, but it's definitely become far too arcadey. The movement has become a joke, same with gunplay.
I dived into Battlefield 2042 about 3 weeks ago. So I'm fairly new to the game. Dipped a bit in Battlefield V and did the Campain. Was nice too. Other than that, I don't have too much experience with the franchise or First Person Shooters in general. I'm aware that the majority of players hate Bots but for me, they are good sparring partners, to learn the maps and find my setup without bothering advanced players to much with my Noob Sh*** 🙃
Got a question for the more battle-hardened out there. Not sure if it is different when you play against real players just did mess around with the AI Conquest Mode. We were on the Stranded Map (the one with the huge Containership in the desert). You may remember there are some Containers scattered around the Shipwreck on the ground. More at the rear end, there is a locked-up blue container. I was taking cover behind it about at the center, and an enemy guy just killed me through the whole container approaching from a little distance towards my position. Is it meant to be like that? Is that High Velocity Ammo THAT strong? If I remember it right, he came for me with a marksman rifle SVS or something.
And to the "too many bullets to kill" - isn't that the point of wearing a helmet and a ballistic vest to protect you a little bit?
About your question: last I checked there is basically no bullet penetration in 2042 apart from vehicle windows and some wooden map props. I think it was probably a planned (but ultimately cut) feature for 2042 since it was in BFV and the Armor Piercing rounds are claimed to penetrate light materials.
The death might've just been some jankiness. One thing to bear in mind is the solo/co-op servers don't have great performance.
@@favclassisspy9478 Thanks 🤗
Oh boy, there are so many realistic/hardcore/milsim games out there, why does every milsim fan want every fps game to be realistic/hardcore.
Nice video youngbuck👍🏻
Lot of people love hardcore in BF. It's not mil sim, but slightly more tactical and realistic than the standard arcade shooter. Your opinion is what it is, and that's fine, but other opinions hold weight as well and a ton of the community love the hardcore experience. Maybe not helicopter mains. But I also think most of us just want hardcore to be a mode in the game like it has been in the past, not the only option. Again, not talking about the extreme realism that the guy who spurred this video is talking about, but you just kind of shit on hardcore mode as a whole and that just means you're not quite as plugged into the community at large as you think. Different opinion is fine. But don't shit on a mode that so many in the community love just because it's not your preference
BF1 had all the magic of realism and Battlefield went away from that and drifted towards COD.
Battlefield should keep it to real world weapons, vehicles. Really wish they would get rid of the mk2, vehicle drops, and give ground player more of a fighting chance. Everyones experience on 2042 is different i get it. But when you join a game and theres vehicle campers who are 70-0 in conquest you should be able to destroy the damn thing to make it a more fair fight. Before anyone pulls the " skill issue" shit think about it. If they would also add proximity team chat it would help with managing everyone. Whats the point of buying a headset with a mic if your not going to be using it.
Battlefield cannot be a sim. It just won't work. Sims work well in inf only games but when you introduce vehicles the balance is impossible to achieve.
I think the mixture of realism and arcade is what makes Battlefield so special. At it was beautifully mastered in Battlefield 4. So I do hope they will go back to that more than the newer titles...like they have bit by bit with 2042.
One thing I'd like more realism though is to the weapons. They should all be "real" weapons not just make belief weapons based on real weapons. But that's all. Keep it arcady!
past bf games i could 2 shot kill a tanks and i had 7 rockets to carry.
Do we need milsim of realism? No.
But definetely to a point where it helps Battlefield become more grounded, believable and immersive...
Immersive/grounded gameplay >> simulation
I miss Socom too
Totally agree with you - please no mil-sim Bf.
So they basically want hell let loose 😂
Imagine if it where milsim there you have apaches with 30mm explosive rounds which hovers 1km away 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really don't get it why people want BF to be a milsim/hardcore shooter. Like i play Battlefield just because its an arcade fps and if i wanna play a more realistic game, i will go and play Isonzo or the other 2 games of the WW1 game series. There really are so many realistic games out there and Battlefield dont have to be one of them.
I am not that much in the Battlefield series but isn't Battlefield exactly know for it's destruction and the infantry and vehicle combination in its gameplay? So just imagine if an RPG would 1 shot a tank, there would just be none, right? For me Battlefield is about the graphics, the sound and the gunplay. But definetly not the realism of a bullet or an RPG just being able to one shot.
Cause they don't. It's a strawman. They want it to become less arcade because other elements that battlefield was famous for such as teamplay for example suffer in the latest iterations.
Battlefield have become too chaotic, cod-like shooter where you just constantly run and gun from one objective to another and back.
People enjoy battlefield afghanistan mode in portal a lot. And guess what? It is still not a mill sim, just less stupid things.
Yeah have snipers camping everywhere, or machine guns, one shot killing you. If you wait to play that, there is hell let loose and similar games. It's fun, but a completely different experience. I want battlefield from battlefield. Not cod, not battle royal, not escape or extraction.
Only realism that can be viable for bf is destruction, even the visual recoil is garbage move.
Your terms are acceptable
If i want more realistic shooter i go for Arma 3. Battlefield should stay how it is now
I wouldn't give these paid DICE trolls on Reddit any time of day. They get paid to post stupid shit and determine the traction.
Why is it so complicated? They just have to look at Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 3 to make a good Battlefield thats it haha
Battlefield is an arcade-y shooter compared to realistic ones such as Squad, Arma, Tarkov etc. I don't want Battlefield to become a 'realistic' shooter at all, we would lose the flow of a Battlefield game if it became realistic.
I just miss suppression.
Gave a reason for LMG’s to exist other than being an ar with extended mags
