Alan Shore (James Spader) is amazingly awesome as an actor😮😮😮 As someone else said “to learn and memorize all the pages of dialogue” is a feat in itself! If only lawyers would stand up more and argue their cause...He is just as good in “The Blacklist”! He is just an amazing actor in anything he does😊

It's one of my all-time favorites. One part is that it's extremely political, so it turns off conservative audiences. I don't give a shit about them, but that is a lot of people that will not watch it. It also got its time slot eaten up. After its wildly successful first season, Gray's Anatomy's first season got Boston Legal's time slot the following season. Changing air time can kill a show. The third season premiered in a new time slot as well, because the third season it lost its time slot to Desperate Housewives. After multiple time slot shuffles...hard for a show to survive.
@Kujakuseki01 Lol. What are you talking about? it was popular with Conservative audiences. Danny Ceane and Alan shore were Republican heroes as well. Anyway. Those who remember those days will remember that Boston Legal was the best legal series during its time. There was no social media to hype it up. So, yes, it was famous. Its just been forgotten.
If it became more famous, the showed would be canceled because of Denny and Alan with how they treated women. Yet other crap gets through. I guess you really can pick and choose what's right and wrong on TV.
This might make for good TV. However, Justice Thomas is one our finest and most constitutionally driven judges. He consistently votes as as the constitution is written and hold the court accountable when it inevitably overreaching. I mean it's as if this show just came out! I enjoyed it back then & I'm really enjoying it now because of the extraordinary writing & multiple A list casting & subject matter! Respect for the Court (in bearing, if not in one's heart) is kind of a prerequisite for a civilized trial. This clip makes great TV, but if a lawyer said that shit to *any* judge (let alone the Supreme Court) they'd be thrown in jail for contempt and potentially face sanctions from the Bar.
@@tehcoolemu Yea this clip started out pretty good, but the random personal attacks on the justices were ludicrous and would of course never be permitted nor would any sane lawyer go that route. A shame they couldn't keep it somewhat "realistic".
If child rape was punishable by death it would be more than likely that the offender would kill their victim's so they couldn't report. What would they have to lose? Murder and rape would both be death penalty crimes. Why not murder to keep them quiet
Yep. The death penalty isn't a deterrent at all, it just does what you said. Encourages more drastic actions in order to get away with crimes. No-one can report the crime, if there's nobody TO report the crime. A horrific sentiment but... Prison is a far greater and scarier punishment for child rapists and sexual predators in general. Prisons are infamously dangerous and scary for sexual predators, they tend to have quite the hellish time. It's, frankly, pretty excellent. Give them life without parole in a medium security prison, where there are more likely to be dark corners tucked out of the way.

Such a moving little speech he gave to the Court. Pure emotion, absolutely nothing to do with the law, and not even remotely close to what a SCOTUS argument looks and sounds like. Legally a sham, but great acting though. Good TV show.

If Death penalty is a norm for child rape - then the guy raping will kill the kid, to save himself.
