- Hey gang
I needed a slightly more chill endeavour this week, so... I here present - wait for it - my first, and last, unscripted video :D I kid, I kid (I don’t), but it’s certainly been an educational exercise...
Hopefully you find it somewhat atmospheric and cozy :)

WTF is this, why are you whispering at me?!
#ASMR is an acronym commonly used to describe the 'tingly' sensation associated with certain audio stimulae - often whispering/soft-spoken voice, and other quiet triggers. It's a similar feeling to 'Frisson' - the shivers that run up your spine when watching an incredible scene in a film, or really /feeling/ amazing music.
ASMR now also refers to a genre of content whereby creators/'ASMRtists' intend to invoke these 'tingles' in others. Even if you don't experience ASMR - many don't - you might still find this content calming, relaxing, or useful for getting to sleep. Heck, even entertaining, god forbid.
Fellow quiet carriage companions, ‘Man On Train, 1890’ is now available to listen to on Spotify and Apple Music!

@@ksm1le SAME, WTF HAPPENS IN THIS VIDEO?
I'M AT 10:28 AND IT SEEMS PERFECTLY NORMAL
Nevermind, just got to 11:44 and burst out laughing
HE DOES WHAT
Are we the Specter of Death? I mean we kind of appeared out of nowhere. His story doesn’t match up, he said he came in here whilst we were here but it seems like we were the ones who entered, as he glances at us as if if we came in.
Also he was reading the newspaper as the video started, which may suggest he’s been here for a moment. Also the fact he talks to us first suggest the same. Basically he was shot probably in the fight he was talking about, then sat down in a carriage to hide, and as he bled more and more he saw us, the Specter of Death.
So what you are saying is. We are the grim reaper speaking to him before his stop "The afterlife" and everything he says are memories, he once had a conversation like this with someone right before the match and bullet wound, this is his strongest memory he could think of also "I don't want to forget this moment" as he is in the abandoned train cart he found the photo and rethink to this moment, also why he barely feels the wound because he has lost way too much blood already.
@@Milkshake908 Just because it's an ASMR video doesn't mean the creator had no intention of artistic ideas like this. This makes sense tbh. The "I just got shot" comment he makes seems random and just for comedic effect until you consider that maybe there's more to the story than is evident at first.
Personally I think he got shot in 1890, and years later he’s talking to the modern person who is the POV as a ghost. And he’s now doing his parting. I mean come on, no one survives that long with blood gushing out of him, he’s definitely a ghost
that puts the story about the little ghost child unable to find peace after death until someone helped them in a whole new light. we're helping him by giving him company until he dies, and we shut our eyes at the end as if falling asleep to the story, which gives him some peace, either that he's helped someone relax and rest easy, or that he won't be seen actually dying. it could be us making sure he's put to rest so he won't want/need to linger
Honestly rewatching the video put a new view of who he is talking to🤔

Not to swiftly fall in love with Grant Worthington only to have my heart just as switfly _shattered_ over his mortally wounded state.

his voice is making me feel different-
I know I may be reading too far into this, but it's fun to make theories, so hear me out: This man is a time traveler. Allow me to explain. He says at 8:29 that he had a fight between himself and a "fellow that looked rather similar" to him. this could be him from a different time fighting him for one reason or another. As well as that, he asks about the influenza virus (9:26). Yes, the influenza virus existed before 1895, but it only hit the United Kingdom and surrounding areas in the early 1910s, about 20 years or so after this interaction. Another thing that caught my eye was how he reacted to having been shot (11:42). He seems very calm. A bit too calm for being shot in the abdomen. Usually, one would seek help of some kind. It's almost as if he's been waiting for this or at least understanding of his mortality. Considering how the man never went to get medical attention or help of any kind, one can only assume that he wanted to die. With these things in mind, I have 2 theories:
1: He is a time traveler who, for whatever reason, tried to stop himself in this time by getting into a fight, as previously mentioned. When that fails, a version of himself from a different point in time shoots him in the abdomen in an attempt to ultimately stop whatever wrongdoing the man who we see has committed. The attempt was a success and the man dies. This video is his final moments.
2: This man has had the ability to travel through time for a while. It has become more of a curse than a blessing. For one reason or another (maybe the loss of a loved one or depression or what have you), he decided it's time for him to leave this mortal plane. Before doing so, He travels to the roman era and fights with himself in the coliseum for the hell of it. He even said it himself at 8:51 that "sometimes you just need a good fight", hinting that he just did it for fun and fun alone. He also said at 8:34 that "Thousands of people watched", stating that there was a large crowd. One that a coliseum fight would bring. On the train, his future self, knowing his past self's intention to die, shoots him in the abdomen. The man sits down here and slowly dies of blood loss. That is why he never asked for help. He was ready and willing to die.
Now, these are merely theories and have no bearing in the video whatsoever nor do they serve as backstory. This was just a fun experiment that I thought some of you may enjoy. Cheers!
These seem pretty cool and also kind of funny that this is all for an asmr video that is about a man on a train talking to the viewer
Also in my opinion, I kind of like the second one more and hope it is that, also there is so much more that could be used for more kind of theories which is kind of crazy lul
I say also a lot
The fight that he mentioned was a reference to his previous video
First time the word "virus" was used for a sickness was in 1892. Yes, he's a time traveller!

I almost cried, well done ;-;

POV: the man is a time traveler and got shot before traveling back to 1890. He sits with a youthful, young woman. The whole time, they have a conversation about life and stuff. By the end of it as she is drifting off to sleep and he is bleeding out. He states that he was glad to see her again and glad he had a photo of her when she was younger. When she wakes up, the man is gone, however not only does the picture that he took that night of her remain, but she sees several other photos of what looks like her in different time lines. She try’s to process how this could be. On the back of every picture it says her name and a date. On the last picture that was dated, it says her name with the word “wife” next to it.
(Basically I’m saying that the man had lost his wife and decided to time travel to the different timelines with her in it. When he reaches the timeline where they were supposed to meet, he gets shot. He does not fear death though. He knew it would come after him and what better time than the moment he actually met her. He has one last conversation with her and decides to take her picture to remember the moment he saw her again, then he dies, however he is happy he got to see her one last time.)

Yes, it should be like:

when he started to read, I felt a little sad, the train's ambiance changes a little too and everything turns a blue hue. I wish I could have helped him 🥺💔
Newspapers were so chaotic back in the day. Imagine trying to read something and losing your spot.
It was a nightmare genuinely trying to read one
Not exactly. You see, back in the late 19th century these types of paragraphs were normal for newspapers and books. Smaller lettering was necessary for local newspaper companies such as the * Manchester Guardian* since there was only such a scarce amount of material for printing them
I prefer the broad pages. You just fold them.
This sounds a lot like a short story ive written for my school’s short story compilation book.
This video is genuinely so good ! The script, the cinematic and environment. So unreal and charming, i love it ! It filled some sort of satisfaction in me because this is exactly how i visualised the short story i wrote even though the storyline is different yet the concept is similar. What a coincidence for this video to be recommended on my page !
I burst out laughing at 7:10 when he said Shakespeare is very meta then looked up to refer to his own video link. This is quality subtle humour that doesn't take away from the relaxed overall vibe. Well done, Atlas.
I skipped ahead and found this man vehemently singing in Italian and didn’t know what to think
Idk how I skipped into the video and ran into the exact part you are talking about right after reading your comment
I just let the video play and found this man vehemently singing in Italian and didn’t know what to think

I’ve been scrolling for a hot minute now trying to find a comment mentioning it but I haven’t so I MUST BE THE ONE
Is no one going to mention how he says that Shakespeare mentions his own plays within this play and how it’s very meta and then HE LOOKS UP AT THE BAR THAT POPS UP SUGGESTING ONE OF HIS VIDEOS AND SMILES LIKE HE KNOWS THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE
Yeah I saw this too, 🐐
I saw that too, I’ve seen this multiple times but I just noticed it 😅
Rumor has it that this man is still on the train now
I forgot that this is a regular asmr video.. literally a genre of video where most often they just touch things near the microphone or eat, BUT THIS GUY MADE A FILM.
I'm not into reading books or playing games, so I never felt "immersed" in a story, but this ordinary video immersed me so much that I forgot about reality.
The acting, the atmosphere,story... it's so much the best that I cried at the end, I became so attached to this character that I see in the ASMR VIDEO.
I'm embarrassed to even call this just an ASMR video, it's like I was just in a book.
1890 and a full beard? "Excuse me, Conductor? There is a vagabond in my coach, and he has taken hold of my newspaper."
LMAO! 😂
But sorry, I don't want to ruin the joke because it was funny, but may i add, that during the 19th Century, men having full on beards was not surprising. almost every male men back then actually had facial hair. From my common knowledge, The Prime minister of the UK at that time had a full on beard. Robert Glascoyne Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury.

And also the King of England Edward VII also had a full beard. He died in 1910.

*Grant:* "In my opinion, Midsummer Night's Dream is Shakespeare's best work."
*Me, getting my English Literature brain on:* I don't know about that. Hamlet was really good. The representation on what makes a hero tragic was really intriguing to read. Plus, Julius Caesar and Macbeth are also very good commentaries on both Shakespeare's and our political climates-
*Grant:* "Oh no, I know people say Hamlet. I know people say Macbeth. Absolute posh, if you ask me."
*Me:* Yes, of course. Midsummer Night's Dream is his best. I cannot believe I thought otherwise.
How can I sleep after falling in love with a stranger in a train and then he dies like no.

Personally I feel like the story was alluding to something: personally my belief is you aren't actually watching him die, this is his ghost, he died alone in a train car, this train car, when he actually died he died alone after being shot, he, like the child in the story was not able to move on from the grief of dying alone, his only wish was to die around someone else. Finally after a long time someone finally can see him, and it is in the story, he finally is able to fulfill his wish, as the video gets dark you fall asleep and he is finally able to move on

@@Rayne1bow you could almost conduct a mood or body language interpretation experiment with this video, wonder what percentage of people see sex appeal and what percentage of people see awkwardness / or something else 🤯💀
This is true art, and a beautiful monologue. I appreciate how the story he read at the end tied everything together with a nice little bow. I'm not sure if this is what was intended, but what I understood is that he realized his life was about to end, and instead of lying restless in his grave because he did not "give away the proverbial stolen farthings", he choses to give all the love he has left to the stranger he meets on the train, the unwitting stranger who shares his last moments. This video truly touched me, and made me think about how people I will never meet again might remember me for how I make them feel in that moment. This is a truly, truly beautiful work of art, and I am grateful that you put it on youtube for us all to enjoy free of charge.
