As a car guy. I’d have to say. Thank you for making this series. One of a kind and us guys need this as content to educate ourselves and pass the time.
This summed up my high school and early 20s (early 2000s). My first swap was a red top RB20 into a s13 coupe. My second swap was a silver top RB20 into a s13 hatch. My third swap was an SR20 blacktop into an S14. But, I took out the SR20 and swapped in a RB25 Neo into the S14. I loved the straight 6 turbo scream. RB engines always sounded better to me than 2JZ. This was before UA-cam, so only a select crowd knew about S-chassis and Skylines or anything Japanese other than Hondas. So, the builds were dirt cheap compared to now. Good old days.
Bro, ever since you shifted the channels direction to this style of video, I’m sure you’ve seen how incredibly successful it’s all become. The busa video brought me in but I’m staying because of these explained format videos. Absolute masterworks, keep at this plz. You’re killing it now.
Take the cat off your turbo car, thats all i gotta say, i could go on forever but in short emission regulations have 100% impacted performance on vehicles, cats are just one of the things that will restrict power
The mixture of the ambient music and engine/turbo noises are so damn good. The audio quality of these videos bring a tear to my eyes. Beautiful work man, not to mention the awesome visuals. 👍
Stumbled on this in my recommended feed and clicked bc I never really followed gtr’s and their specs and this has got to be one of the best videos I’ve seen. Keep up the good work!!
These videos are beyond theraputic, the backing tones remind me of an old last gen racing game like forza motorsport 4, and i just adore the video style and formatting, thank you so much for making these videos, i could use these as something to fall asleep too
BRAVO!! This is the first of your videos I have seen and I must say, this is absolutely phenomenal. The attention to detail and the way you lay out information makes it very easy to absorb and understand. I feel as though I've seen the majority of the RB video's on youtube (probably not, actually), but this is one of the most informative of those out there. Definitely keep up the good work man. I'm sitting at my desk in my garage, and my RB25 swapped 240sx is right behind me. It's going to be a good day 😆 Thank you for all your thorough research and hard work!
The presentation man, just WOW!!! Using 3D grapgix and infographix animations ... this is the kind of videos i would follow and watch till the end.. Just keep it up!
Since August I have been lucky enough to be the owner of an RB powered vehicle. While it's an RB25DET & not a RB26DETT it's still very fun. I was able to pick up a 1996 Stagea RS-Four V. Was quite a bit but it's paperwork was already translated & it had a US title so it was definitely worth it. I've only had it out a few times because I currently have too many projects at home but it never fails to turn heads.
You're correct. RB25DET's are fun. My first Skyline was a 1996 R33 GTS-T. Over the years I did a few modifications, including a Race pace Motorsport built engine, upgraded Garrett turbo, Manifold, Wastegate (+screamer pipe), engine management system (Apexi Power FC), fuel system/injectors, coilpack, exhaust system, intercooler & piping, brakes, wheels/Tyres etc... I ended up with 310 rwkw and definitely was worth the money. I later bought a Midnight Purple 1997 Skyline R33 GTR V-Spec and also got it built/modified by RacePace Motorsport to suit the track and the road. This one had 400rwkw and was very responsive and fun to drive at the track as GTR's (RB26DETT) are AWD, not RWD like the RB25DET's.
@@existenz1974 The last two weeks I've been driving it everyday to work & back home & out n about & I'm really getting used to the RHD. I'm lucky enough to have gotten a RS-Four V Stagea which has a R33's ATTESSA-ETS AWD system but only the RB25DET. The 26 was reserved for the Autech 260RS Stagea. It's stock other than some select HKS components installed before it was shipped including coilovers, intake & exhaust, SSQ2 BOV, boost controller & turbo timer, simple bolt ons. But even still it is super fun to drive something so big yet so responsive. Ive built quite a few rotary powered MX-5's, a few rotary powered kit cars, a few AE86's and a Datsun 510 so I'm used to small, light, shorter wheelbase cars. Probably why I find this car to be so enjoyable.
fantastic editing and great run down of the RB series, i absolutly love the sound of these engines on gate. Raw, meaty, angry and violent :D you should of mentioned some the RBs flaws because there are MANY.
Such an awesome presentation! However I noticed no mention of the Nissan Stagea, a station wagon/estate that was available with either a rwd NEO RB25det or a 4wd RB26dett. There is also an R31 Skyline named the Passage GT which had either a non turbo RB30e or the turbo RB30et. I am not sure if the Passage was an Australasian exclusive model or not but I live in New Zealand and that was how the R31's arrived here. Autech also produced a 1 off S15 convertible named the Varietta which had a non turbo RB26de that was super rare. 1 last thing I thought would have been worth a mention is just how bulletproof the RB rwd gearboxes are. Because of this video alone, you just gained another subscriber so keep up the great content.
For you to mention Holdens best engine the RB30 LOL being in a Holden, shows how much effort and research you put into these videos. not many non Aussies will know that. This combination of car and engine, injvented the term dosing, to dose LOL. if you dont know what that means UA-cam "VL dosing" Is it just me or does the RB20 doesnt make sense, I think Nissan realized this, and made the SR20.
It happened because Holden didn't have a 6 cylinder engine that could run on unleaded ready to use. It's also why the V8 VL didn't come until a bit later. Also, the RB20 and SR20 are quite different. One's a lower displacement inline 6 and the other's an inline 4. The RB20 was likely just made redundant with the SR20 and RB25 rather than some sense thing.
You continue with your method of presentation and delivery with your UA-cam videos, you will very well become one of the best informative car UA-cam channels in the world
Yo @337speed , you should make a video about 1990s Nissan in general. 90s Nissan was on some of that GOOOOOD stuff back then, with their sports car line up. The Stagea, Silvia, Bluebird, Skyline, Pulsar (and that's all off of memory, there were so many more!)
Absolutely phenomenal vid, bro. I've been an obsessive JDM fanboy since the early PS1 days because of games like Tokyo Highway Battle and the original Gran Turismo. This vid was like music for my soul.
Preciate you and the hard work you put into the videos sharing knowledge! Could you perhaps make a video on the SR-20 motors from the Silvias and the legendary Mazda rotary engines?
How am I only finding your channel now?! 🙌 Smasheddd that sub button! Great content, very informative, without all that fluff other cannels throw in 👌👌
Tbh i learn so much about engines without even had the knowledge at one time. I thank you many much how easy and clear you make these videos about engines big up 337 speed❤💥
As some one who not only owned a 32 GTR and tuned a few others, these motors where built to move, sounded amazing. Miss my car so much. The power you feel when the boost hits and your pushed in the seat, un matched. Watching the tach needle snap up into redline almost faster then you can shift into the next gear. Tuned a 33, it scared me to the point when I finished with it I didn’t want to drive it. It would light up all 4 at 70 mph without batting an eye
I'd love to see a "decoding engine names" video. I know not every manufacturer has a clear scheme(looking at you LS series) but nissan clearly does here
can we get a soundtrack list lol the background music is so nostalgic for me reminds me of old forza menu music or other documentary shows. peaceful! the video quality and information is outstanding. love the series!

Emissions have only gotten more strict and new cars have only gotten faster.
