For the plushies, they might be using a hitbox equivalent for a very small prop, like a hula girl, a knife, etc., so where the killbox(hit to remove health) and hitbox(general area to cause blood) does not mesh too well.
However, this is an assumption of how the hitboxes work, since I do not know them.
