Plug-in hybrid powertrains fix the refinement problem you had. Super smooth and powerful.

Would appreciate a review of the recharge ultimate T8 with the air suspension, bigger wheels and massage seats. Also curious on how useable the electric range is and how good/bad the real-world charging is.

the 'bright' designation is just the chrome trim
the dark is the black trim which also comes in the B6 engine 220kw 420nm torque

Fantastic car, I own one, super reliable and almost bulletproof, steering feel
is a little dull but they are not meant to be sporty.
    Timeless design.

9.5L per 100km on highway! We average 6.5L per 100km with some urban mixed in and driving normally.

Not sure why so many haters for the Volvo are out there 😀 I have a 2020 T6 R Design and the only issue is that it steers to the left a bit which is annoying. Been told it is a safety design to steer the car away from oncoming traffic? Other than that been really happy with it.

thats standard modern production car wheels alignment to keep you away from oncoming traffic.

Because they're german cars fanboys. Nothing is cool but BMW, Audi, Mercedes.... I love Volvo because I gave it a chance, and it never gave me a reason not to love it. My S60 D3 2012 is still going strong, but I'm upgrading to CX60 2022 as my family's grown. :)

Ya I have an 2019 xc60 T6. Great car. Only issue, as you said, you feel uneven roads.

I remember when Volvo decided to use the seat belt as part of their grille's design language. I wished they'd move on.

@@aussie8114most of the range is made in China now for Australia

    • @ElusiveTy

They are both Chinese owned and made. Most of Australia's cars are made in China but there's only a handful that are actually supporting China's regime, Volvo being one of them since their acquisition by Geely. MG and LDV are particularly bad because they're owned by SAIC, which is actually government owned so they're not even supporting China's regime through taxes and the economy, they're doing it directly.
So yes, Chinese owned and made. The latter isn't as concerning as the former. Better a car that's not Chinese owned but made in China than one that's Chinese owned and made elsewhere.

@@ElusiveTy it really doesn't matter either way all chinese companies are owned 51% or more by the CCP even the factories contract manufacturing for western brands
in the last 5 years i've cut out buying as many chinese made goods as possible there will never be a chinese made vehicle sitting in my driveway

For European market they are still made in Europe: Belgium or Sweden. I have an XC40 and it's definitely from one of those plants, don't remember which exactly though

They really need to buy engines from another manufacturer. Such a weakness to a good product.

JD Power 2024 reliability ratings. (Problems per 100 vehicles). Volvo is near the bottom in reliability. I like the classic design of the car and the safety track record. But maybe the car is safe because it is in the garage most of the time.

What masochist would buy a brand new Volvo given their extensive systemic issues?
They were great (but boring) in 70s and 80s and they were cool (but less reliable) in the 90s and early 00s. Now, they look great but sweet baby jeebus are they are nightmare.

This is a 2017 vehicle, no amount of face lift language will change that. They need a new proper design.

Toyota change shape every 10 years. Often not major. It helps with efficiency and tooling costs. If it works don’t change it. They have a whole new full electric range if you want. Which are market leading.
