Reminder Assassin Emiya never got together with Iri or had Illya or raised Shirou so probably never met Taiga. Everyone is literally strangers to him and they're treating him like the Kiritsugu they know. Archer is being the most professional in this situation.

@@gummi4977 I think it's more that she is the embodiment of the holy grail. As the grail has many legends surrounding it, that makes it classify as a holy spirit. Then as irisviel sorta became one with it in zero and alternate universes, she became the divine spirit of the grail. If I've got anything wrong please correct me
Jo Ji he did say in fgo but the timeline in this game is very different than fate/zero. Many people like emiya or illya does not know who kiritsugu is in fgo
The person standing in front of Iris is the one who doesn't care about anything other than completing assigned missions (a man with a "steel" heart) ^^
If anyone thinks this is a little depressing, there's a Summer event mission where Iri, Ilya, and Kuro/Chloe are on a bit of a shopping spree or something and Kiritsugu is tailing them to keep them safe. I saw it in the JP version so I don't know the exact context but that's what it looked like to me seeing as Kerry was the support servant for that particular mission.
We now know that kerry still didn't "know" them, but does feel a bond with them (kuro, illya, and iri), and after several other servants started approaching to hit on them all (if i recall, it was tristain and blackbeard) he went assasin murder mode and bodied them before his "family" even realized they were there.
this is the kiritsugu emiya that never contracted with the einzberns for the fourth war. he proceeded his life as a hired hand before contracting himself as a counter guardian with Alaya. Ironic how his fate is parallel to that of Archer Emiya... But yes, this kiritsugu never met Irisviel, never became a master to Saber Artoria, never had Illya and never adopted Taiga or Shirou... The only 3 women important to this kiritsugu were Shirley, Natalia and Maiya, and i dont think he even remembers them anymore... It is sad to see Iris standing infront of the man that is not her husband. She has memories of being together with him, but this kiritsugu is not her kiritsugu.

It seems some people, even the uploader don't quite understand this scene. So then, many people have already done it in the comments, but, here I go. To explain better, Assassin EMIYA is not the Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero. He's from a different timeline, one where the Einzberns never hired him to participate in the 4th Holy Grail War. As such, he never met Iri, never conceived Illya and never met Taiga and Shirou. He spent his entire life being just the Magus Killer and towards the end of his life (ironically mirroring EMIYA Archer) he made a pact with Alaya and became a Counter Guardian. Thus his different appearence. Now, opposite to that, Caster Iri _IS_ somehow our dear Irisviel from Fate/Zero, or at least she has all her memories and experiences. Which is why it feels so hard for her to interact with both Assassin EMIYA and Prisma Illya, she naturally feels a connection to them but must always remember that those are not her family. That's not her Kiritsugu and that's not her Illya, which pains her a lot. Nevertheless, Iri just couldn't help but worry about EMIYA being lonely, even though that's what he actually prefers. (bad boy! >:x) So she went out of her way to see if he was doing alright. And Jaguar Warrior, being Taiga, tagged along! XD Being an Assassin, however, EMIYA quickly realized those two were trailing him and also deduced *why* they were trailing him, so he started to fake that he was getting along with other Servants, to see if that would make those two stop following him. I find it deliciously ironic that he went for the people that the Fate/Zero version of Kiritsugu ended up meeting at one point in his life! XD First it was Archer EMIYA, Kiritsugu's adopted son Shirou. Then it was Artoria, the Saber Servant whom Kiritsugu did not get along with. Then Diarmuid, the Lancer Servant whose horrible demise was orchestrated by him. Then El-Melloi II, prieviously another Master in the 4th HG War just like Kiritsugu (also someone he talked to through a phone). It's like the messed up timelines were throwing a few of Fate/Zero Kiritsugu's "records" into this Counter Guardian version due to them both "being the same person" (similar deal between Archer and Shirou), but it's so subconcious that even EMIYA doesn't seem to notice. XP (or if he does, he masks it really well) I'm honestly just glad that EMIYA was cordial enough with Iri, as best as he could. He could've been cruel, outright angry given his annoyance, but you can see his expressions shift and him calm down. For a second, he almost seemed at a loss for what to really say. Guess deep down he doesn't want to hurt Iri that much, even when he thinks telling her the harsh truth is the best way. "Please get out... A day may come when the two of us speak... but it is not today, Irisviel von Einzbern." Unlike everyone else in the comments, I think this Interlude ends with a pretty hopeful tone. It is sad, but it also has a chance of growing into something else in the future. Notice how the usually stoic or emotionless EMIYA is pretty much smiling at the end of this Interlude. Makes me wonder what exactly he meant by "one formidable opponent". ;)
@@MrGksarathy She _does come_ from the Accel Zero Order event, but she's not that world's Irisviel. She manifests after the Grail is destroyed, because there were still vestigues of it that needed to be taken care of. So I guess you could say the Grail searched through space and time and found this Irisviel to act as a terminal and guide. If you talk to her in My Room, it becomes pretty clear she has Fate/Zero Iri's memories, specially whenever she speaks fondly of "that girl... and that man..." (obviously talking about Illya and Kiritsugu respectively)

That's actually a hell of a lot more optimistic an ending to this interaction than I was expecting. Yeah, it ends with Iri leaving in tears and Kiritsugu still in his self-imposed isolation, but this is a version of him that never got hired by the Einzberns and thus has absolutely no connection to her, Illya, Taiga, or Shirou/EMIYA. The first step in establishing _any_ kind of connection with this Kiritsugu pretty much had to be accepting that he is not _their_ Kiritsugu, and that was bound to be painful for people who had such a personal connection to him. And I know he's a hell of a lot more set in his ways than F/Z!Kiritsugu because of a life of isolation and subsequent career as a Counter Guardian, but F/Z!Kiritsugu was still in full 'Magus Killer' mode when he fell in love with Irisviel, and that was knowing full-well that he'd be facilitating her death in pursuit of his dream. But, the same cursed existence as a Counter Guardian is probably the thing that holds the most hope for something resembling a happy ending. The reason why CGs are so inherently tragic is because no matter how far separated they are from their mortal lives, they can't completely shed their humanity. In other words, there's an Irisviel-shaped crack somewhere in this Kiritsugu's armor. It's obstructed by 'Magus Killer raised by a factor of Counter Guardian' levels of blockage, but that's just an extra-strength version of F/Z!Kiritsugu's barriers. So hey, who knows? This family's internal dynamics are already completely insane, and sometimes the good things in life can sneak up on you.
I absolutely agree with you! In order to build a good relationship with Kirit, Iris needs to accept who he is, that he is not the one she used to love ... and miracles always exist as long as they don't give up all hope ^^
electricbayonet2 yes, that is the way... she needs to accept that his kiritsugu is gone and the kiritsugu in this chaldea is not her husband. But its gonna very hard for iri... Just rmmbr that ilya was ~8 years old when the fourth war started and they had to separate. Kerry and iri probably met atleast a year or 2 before that. For iri, it was probably the best 10+ years of her life. He was responsible in making her experience life, the feeling of being loved and also loving another soul in their child. She even developed a strong sisterly bond with saber artoria, eventhough it was very brief. All that thanks to her kiritsugu. If u rmmbr that little chat in FZ about how kerry met iri, well it was only talked out in a dialogue. But they made a beautiful montage of it for the Ending song. “Soraha takaku kaze wa utau”. Thats the title of the song. Its basically a love letter from iri to kerry. One of the line for that song was: “You did not believe the world's kindness Therefore you were kinder than anyone else”

One of friends was called Emiya (because of a joke mostly) and i ended up just calling him like that and when i saw fate i always remember him, he really looks like Emiya when he is in the school because he helps alot but then hsi personality would be like a carnival phantasm gil, i hope he is not in the Emiya family oficially because thats some deep hell

I mean, as sad as this all is, there is a small bit of hope that despite not being the Kiritsugu we know and love, I'm pretty sure in his source material or bond lines it's mentioned that he still feels drawn to the EMIYA family inexplicably and feels thems complicated emotions, so if there's ever a further interlude ( can magecraft become magus killer with 3 turn class advantage against casters pls DW) maybe they can all not be angsty

When I saw that Emiya(Assassin) calls the other Servants as mass murderers, I couldn't help but to note at how hypocrite he sounded when in reality he's also one of those 'mass murderers' as he comes up with the lame excuse of killing some to save more
Mental Forge this was one kerry’s gripe with saber, in FZ atleast. He accused her of using terms like “honor” and “chivalry” to greenlight murder. To him, murder is just what it is: taking a life. He accepted that murder (by whatever means) is a bitter method to pursue his goals and is unavoidable. He doesnt want to do it, but he has to do it. Saber n kerry. That debate they had after taking out diarmuid n el melloi in FZ.. both of em werent wrong, but u cant call it right either...

@@pauloazuela8488 the issue is this Kiritsugu became a Counter Guardian (like Archer Emiya) so he can be summoned as a Servant, while F/Z Kiritsugu did not. Though there might be theoretical instances in which we can summon Kiritsugu as a pseudo Servant (like Shiki Ryougi), which might never be implemented soon :((

@@Event_Horizonn Well both Shiki and Fujino are hella WEIRD as far as *Pseudo Servants* go. You're supposed to be the vessel of a Heroic or Divine Spirit, like Waver is to Zhuge Liang, Reines is to Sima Yi, Shirou is to Muramasa and so on. Shiki and Fujino both have no one, though! They're literally just themselves, but amped up with Servant stats! I honestly think their case was "pure fanservice", because even Iri and "Kiritsugu" got a in-lore explanation as to why they are Servants. (with Kiritsugu being a Counter GUardian while Irisviel is miraculously the embodiment of the Grail) So, since the writing has become much more complex compared to FGO's earlier days, I don't think they're gonna go and do something like this again. If our Kiritsugu gets to be a Pseudo Servant, he'll most likely come fused with somebody and then he'll mostly have that person's abilities. (mixed with his own, of course) So, technically speaking, it still won't be the Fate/Zero Kiritsugu we're so familiar with. That's what I think, anyway.

I think Jaguar Man acquired and used Taiga Fujimura's body as a vessel (she's an English teacher at Shirou's school). Both Jaguar and Taiga also have the same V.A - Itō Miki, so that's it^^

That sounds fun ^^. Luckily, my Kerry is much more stronger now (NP2); so when the summer event come, I'll make him complete all those missions alone.

That's...huh. That's actually a hell of a lot more optimistic an ending to this interaction than I was expecting. Yeah, it ends with Iri leaving in tears and Kiritsugu still in his self-imposed isolation, but this is a version of him that never got hired by the Einzberns and thus has absolutely no connection to her, Illya, Taiga, or Shirou/EMIYA.
The first step in establishing _any_ kind of connection with this Kiritsugu pretty much had to be accepting that he is not _their_ Kiritsugu, and that was bound to be painful for people who had such a personal connection to him.
And I know he's a hell of a lot more set in his ways than F/Z!Kiritsugu because of a life of isolation and subsequent career as a Counter Guardian, but F/Z!Kiritsugu was still in full 'Magus Killer' mode when he fell in love with Irisviel, and that was knowing full-well that he'd be facilitating her death in pursuit of his dream. But, the same cursed existence as a Counter Guardian is probably the thing that holds the most hope for something resembling a happy ending. The reason why CGs are so inherently tragic is because no matter how far separated they are from their mortal lives, they can't completely shed their humanity.
In other words, there's an Irisviel-shaped crack somewhere in this Kiritsugu's armor. It's obstructed by 'Magus Killer raised by a factor of Counter Guardian' levels of blockage, but that's just an extra-strength version of F/Z!Kiritsugu's barriers.
So hey, who knows? This family's internal dynamics are already completely insane, and sometimes the good things in life can sneak up on you.
I absolutely agree with you! In order to build a good relationship with Kirit, Iris needs to accept who he is, that he is not the one she used to love ... and miracles always exist as long as they don't give up all hope ^^

Just rmmbr that ilya was ~8 years old when the fourth war started and they had to separate. Kerry and iri probably met atleast a year or 2 before that. For iri, it was probably the best 10+ years of her life. He was responsible in making her experience life, the feeling of being loved and also loving another soul in their child. She even developed a strong sisterly bond with saber artoria, eventhough it was very brief.
All that thanks to her kiritsugu.
If u rmmbr that little chat in FZ about how kerry met iri, well it was only talked out in a dialogue. But they made a beautiful montage of it for the Ending song. “Soraha takaku kaze wa utau”. Thats the title of the song. Its basically a love letter from iri to kerry. One of the line for that song was:
“You did not believe the world's kindness
Therefore you were kinder than anyone else”

- Iris,chloe,illya continue have fun in festival without knowing Kiritsugu secretly bodyguard

I mean, as sad as this all is, there is a small bit of hope that despite not being the Kiritsugu we know and love, I'm pretty sure in his source material or bond lines it's mentioned that he still feels drawn to the EMIYA family inexplicably and feels thems complicated emotions, so if there's ever a further interlude ( can magecraft become magus killer with 3 turn class advantage against casters pls DW) maybe they can all not be angsty

Mental Forge this was one kerry’s gripe with saber, in FZ atleast. He accused her of using terms like “honor” and “chivalry” to greenlight murder. To him, murder is just what it is: taking a life. He accepted that murder (by whatever means) is a bitter method to pursue his goals and is unavoidable. He doesnt want to do it, but he has to do it.

Nope, he is from an alternate timeline where einzbern did not use him as a master therefore he hasn't met iri or become her husband.

@@pauloazuela8488 the issue is this Kiritsugu became a Counter Guardian (like Archer Emiya) so he can be summoned as a Servant, while F/Z Kiritsugu did not. Though there might be theoretical instances in which we can summon Kiritsugu as a pseudo Servant (like Shiki Ryougi), which might never be implemented soon :((

@@Event_Horizonn Well both Shiki and Fujino are hella WEIRD as far as *Pseudo Servants* go. You're supposed to be the vessel of a Heroic or Divine Spirit, like Waver is to Zhuge Liang, Reines is to Sima Yi, Shirou is to Muramasa and so on. Shiki and Fujino both have no one, though! They're literally just themselves, but amped up with Servant stats!
I honestly think their case was "pure fanservice", because even Iri and "Kiritsugu" got a in-lore explanation as to why they are Servants. (with Kiritsugu being a Counter GUardian while Irisviel is miraculously the embodiment of the Grail)
So, since the writing has become much more complex compared to FGO's earlier days, I don't think they're gonna go and do something like this again. If our Kiritsugu gets to be a Pseudo Servant, he'll most likely come fused with somebody and then he'll mostly have that person's abilities. (mixed with his own, of course) So, technically speaking, it still won't be the Fate/Zero Kiritsugu we're so familiar with. That's what I think, anyway.
