      Whatever Tsiah IV is doing.
I am WARNING this fellow Fate fan that do not make a what if or analysis on this subject.
FGO and Shirou never works well.
As someone who read the context and watch the anime.
Shirou is a reckless main character that would blatantly ignore the advice from others for the sake of saving someone. The Lostbelt arc would break him and end the story before it begun.
So Tsiah IV, if you read this, stop this nonsense and moved on to another topics.

And breaking him doesnt mean he cant win. EMIYA Alter, Mos Shirou, og EMIYA. They all won even if they killed people they should have saved.

He is still reckless no matter how much you put words and info regarding about him from FSN routes. It's the boy nature from his survivor guilt and following his father's dream to do what's right even if it will lead him to ruins.
Shirou is best suited as a Servant than a master in FGO. He is not Ritsuka that whether good or evil, they'll bond to the master. Shirou will have conflicted issue to some of the Servants inherent ideals and their nature.

@@rogueascendant6611 You mean when Herc almost killed Saber and they would be next if he didnt do that? Or ,for saying UBW, when he wanted to save Taiga, who he considers family?
Meanwhile Ritsuka attacking Kingu for no reason....
Shirou was able to ally with Kirei and Rider, in the latter's case even after seeing her attacking and feeding on innocent people.
He was willing to let Kuzuki live but Kuzuki didnt want to, he was willing to let Shinji live even after almost killing everyone at school and also right after almost killing Shinji.
Shirou has no issues moving past someone being an "enemy" or evil.
      He even admits liking Kirei.
I dont know what FSN you read.
Guess what Shirou IS; a Servant in FGO, Muramasa is for all intends and purposes an older Shirou, and he had no issues with the idea of destroying LBs, allying with enemies and even allying with the Alien God in the first place.

People point to Shirou's bad ends saying he's likely to die, but they don't notice that these bad ends often result from making choices that Shirou wouldn't. Shirou as he is shows to be a very capable survivor. He thinks on his feet like crazy to maximize his chances for survival. Given a dangerous environment, he grows and adapts like crazy. Not saying the singularites would be a cakewalk for him, but he's very much able to get through them.

He does die though, several times, by his own self-destructive choices. He is kept alive purely by the power of the Avalon sheath which made him able to survive even a stab to the heart (the only reason Rin finds him alive after his encounter with Lancer is because of the remnants of mana in the Avalon sheath stuck inside his body).
Basically, a normal Shirou, in the same situation as Ritsuka, would need insane amounts of luck to survive if he took the same cavalier attitude he does in all of his adventures in Fate media. He would not hide behind servants and that would just get him killed eventually.
Also, let’s remember Shirou would not even be placed in the list of Master candidates. Not even the sub list (the one Ritsuka was taken from). Chaldea only took highly compatible individuals with the FATE system of summoning, which innately means they need to have a good ability to supply their servant with a link to the world. Shirou’s whole deal in Stay Night was he was the worst Master in the War, Shinji aside because Shinji was not even a real Master. Forget summoning a collection of servants, he’d be lucky to summon Saber again.

I think it would be interesting because Shirou’s whole thing is an unhealthy hero complex and or survivors guilt. Having him interact with so many actual heroes would be cool because there conversations could be so interesting(that goes for villains/antagonist to). They could discus things like why people become heroes, do they even consider themself, a hero how do they feel about the way that they are remembered in history, ect. I also wonder if other servants cold identify and even feel comradery with his sacrificial nature and try to stare him down a less self destructive path.

You mean the themes already discussed in the original work?
Like we know Siegfried has a similar mindset to Shirou though depending on how you look at it it is even more crazy since, spoilers for Traum I guess cause it's coming out soon:
Siegfried in Fate planned to die to spare people which caused Krim to commit her own revenge on a brother who she thought betrayed her and her husband when in fact her husband and brother were working together to orchestra his death. He willingly pulls out his own heart to save Sieg which objectively is way more insane then anything Shirou actually did unless we count Heavens Feel as in terms of values as when we see what EMIYA did to become a Counter Force Guardian and why, his at least showed a value difference on one sacrifice vs the many at the time (not including the amount of people he would go on to kill to not even know if he was saving lives) or his Alter timeline where he became even more obsessed then EMIYA yet somehow he didn't try and commit suicide as EMIYA Alter and simply accepted his role as the Worlds hired gun and not try and do a paradox kill on his younger self but work with in the system to try and save others in this new way.
Honestly it just doesn't sound all that interesting in that way since this was already explored in the original work and conversely, Hollow Ataraxia. You would just get more of that and more OC feeling then you think but wouldn't care because you already think what you stated is correct.

Honestly, Kama would be someone more difficult for Shirou to stomach then say Carmilla. Least Carmilla shows the ability to reflect. Him dealing with Kiyohime would also be interesting since she's not actually a typical yandere as she doesn't want liars. Her making Shirou admit to things like not trying to hide behind "your a girl" like he did with Artoria would be interesting.

Still think Ritsuka is best suited for FGO setting.
-Sure, Shirou is stronger in combat and in facing threats.
-But, unlike FSN, FGO setting is very different.
-Shirou has very strong personality and ideals which might face head on with his servants.( mostly Evil or Chaotic ones ).
-Ritsuka lacking these things, makes him very much versatile in situations like negotiations with enemies, or heeding advises of more knowledgeable individuals like Shion or Da vinci. Or using lesser evil to destroy greater one.
-On the other hand, Shirou will ignore every advice to save someone.
-And there is LB problem. Our Glorious Hero will have absolutely worse than Ritsuka.
-I dare say that LB are designed specifically for Ritsuka. Maybe Hakuno but not for Shiro.
-The common thing in FGO, is lots of enemies look down on Ritsuka a lot, after that they are either dead or join Chaldea.
-In the End, Even Gods, Beasts and Aliens tremble before the power of Charisma and Common sense.
-I am glazing Ritsuka too much. But here is a note, Ritsuka is never main character in FGO story, he is just support character in every chapter.
-FGO part 1 is for Mashu.
-Part 2 has many main characters in each LBs. Gudao is more like a driving force for every LB. He needs others to win the day ( power of friendship, I suppose ). But without him everything will fall apart.
-FGO never needs a powerful protagonist nor idealistic protagonist , it just need a guy who do what needs to be done with a heavy heart.

Not just Shirou, all other MCs in Fate media, even Sieg came face to face with Servants that disliked, hated them. Everyone that at some point join Ritsuka HAS to like them.
If they are a Servant, even an enemy, will at some point, recognize Ritsuka as capable, even tho the only thing they do is being a battery and being a Yes Man whenever a smart Servant proposes a plan; and ofc the story will imply that Ritsuka was thinking of the same thing.

Story wise im thinking that FGO would be a lot more brutal.
Ristuka being a mediocre master is often forced to think outside the box and ally himself with others to fufill his goals.
Shirou? Especially post FSN? Would be more self sufficient. Hes going to be more straight foward in his approach to solving the missions. I don't see certain events getting out of hand as they did in canon FGO due to his power.
However...... I also see him not making allies as easily as ristuka did. Especially when their morals clash with his.
Then on characters he's met a version of before.......ohhhh boy.
It would be hilarious seeing him work with Gilgamesh.
I think the lostbelts would be very different.
Either shirou breaks down and becomes kirisugu jr.....basically becoming a terrorist and assassinating folks in the lostbelts as "it's either my timeline ir theirs" or i could see shirou going rogue to seek out a different solution.

I think Shirou as the lead of FGO would wind up to be a wild ride. I actually would feel sorry for Mash and the rest of the cast because being close to Emiya Shirou isn't easy. He is reckless, he is self sacrificing, he has real mental problems and those are going to be pushed to the forefront. I do see Mash initially getting along with Shirou but even this older and more powerful Shirou would be a handful. Also I see him summoning Artoria early on and this maybe leading to some tension between her and Mash if she develops romantic feelings for Shirou which is entirely possible.

Whoops. Forgot about that since it's been a bit since I read it.
I'd argue part of that is because of the lostbelt when he has unlimited mana to play with barriers and such. One of those barriers could tank rhongomyniad. And not going to argue the fact that he can react to servants. If he couldn't then we wouldn't even be arguing. Too bad we really don't have any other feats of Wodime outside of the Lostbelt.
And I agree. Current Shirou would lose. I was debating the theoretical Shirou that the video is based on and closer to EMIYA. The one who would have gone and grown throughout this story to at least reach this lostbelt. My bad, should have made that more clear. His battery should be less of an issue and Wodime should be much more limited without his Astrology magecraft.
Edit: On a side note, the reason why I even thought he had a chance to pull off UBW is that their chants take a similar amount of time. Based on Shirou's chant in ubw anime vs Wodime's in the game. With how close they are, it'd probably come down to who started first.

    Ah! Very interesting analysis.
I actually ran the first arc of FGO as a tabletop game some years back with players who were (mostly) unfamiliar with FGO but Fate fans otherwise. One of the players chose to play Shiro Emiya, and I slotted him in as the 'protagonist' character.
To fit him in, I made the following changes:
I had Kiritsugu be the master during the Fuyuki grail war. Shiro witnessed it, but was not an active participant. After the war, Marisbury Animusphere sought out Shiro and paid for him to attend Clocktower in London claiming that it was a favor to his father. Shiro went to London, learned mage craft, and then got a job at Chaldea - as part of the medical staff working for Romani (which is why he wasn't with the teams what got exploded).
As for Olga Marie, I just cut the whole getting sucked into a sun thing and said that her body died in the explosion so she was effectively just a ghost - when the singularity ended, she sparkled away like a Servant. Shiro was sad, but there wasn't much he could do about it.
Oh, and if you're wondering who the other PCs were - Mash was a PC, as was Jeanne d'Arc (I started the game in Orleans and handled Fuyuki as flash backs). There was also a PC who kept getting bored and switching characters - they mostly played Mordred, Nero, and a few others.
Edit: Oh, since you mentioned meeting Psudo servants. Another thing I put in Shiro's backstory was the Sakura death scene from Vow in Snow (modified for a normal grail war) - so when he meets Parvati (the only Sakura face in arc 1), he had to deal with seeing Sakura back from the dead... but she doesn't remember him. The RPer went hard - it was an amazing session.

@@amari7782 It's more of a thought experiment really, how far could an ordinary mage go to implement their magecraft into technology? Mystic codes can do what the maker needs it to. Maybe with the tech aspect, they use the hardware for a 'base' function with the software for more flexibility in other functions? Not to the point where they could use the mystic code for everything, but maybe for more streamlining certain aspects of their magecraft? It could even help them blend into the modern day more easily, since nowadays just about everyone has a smartphone. Take out your smartphone that's really your mystic code out of your pocket and people would just think you're checking your messages or looking up something on the internet when you're actually looking at what's up with the leylines, or something along those lines. The tech used in FGO just got me thinking just how far you could take this idea. Chaldea was able to devise a form of time travel by using magecraft and technology together, but even then, they needed tech assistance from Atlas and a LOT of extra money from the United Nations. How far could a mage without that sort of help go with the concept? Especially since you would need to know how something like a smartphone or a computer (probably a laptop), including how coding works, to even attempt something like this. And that's not even accounting the problem with trying to make your own homebrew smartphone in the first place. Because I think you would get in a lot of legal trouble for doing so. Probably safer to make a mystic code computer and find a way to connect your regular smartphone to that rather than make a mystic code smartphone. Hopefully I wrote this well enough to get my thought process across, I'm pretty bad a that.

You seem to forget the reason Shirou couldn't supply Saber enough mana was because his magic circuits hadn't been opened because due to Kiritsugu purposely botching teaching Shirou about Magecraft, Shirou believed you had to make Magic Circuits for using Magecraft.
Due to that, Shirou's Magic Circuits are like muscles he's not used for years. Had he not gotten screwed over by Kiritsugu, Shirou's Magic Circuits would like be in peak condition and able to supply Saber with more mana. (Granted not as much as Rin because of her Magic Crest and Rin being a juggernaut when it comes to having magical energy in her, but I digress. Shinji had a similar problem, I believe.)
Given FGO happens a decade after the 5th HGW, that'd be a decade of Shirou properly taking care of his Magic Circuits to better support a Servant's prana needs. (This is all ignoring it's Chaldea doing the work of supplying mana to the Servants Ritsuka commands.)

      Same as in Hollow Ataraxia.
Same as Heavens Feel or Hell, again, Hollow Ataraxia.
Why do you think that matters when were not in a city a majority of the time with no people and were busting out high powered NP's on the daily in a fight? Also why wouldn't Rin or the like be there? Shirou would also be teaching Mashu. He would see her similar to Artoria. Cu Caster would also talk to Shirou on letting Mashu really come into her own. Hell, the original concept for Mashu was a Stray Servant in F/SN that was scraped and recontextualized for FGO.
Why would he ignore Da Vinci and Romani? He's actually more likely to listen to them then Ritsuka who ignored them to save lives that wouldn't matter. Hell it takes Gilgamesh during Babylonian telling us the people who died stay dead. Just how they die change. We never actually see Shirou or Hell, EMIYA save people. We more see EMIYA Alter and EMIYA killing people trying to help others but not even knowing if he is. The only version we see do so is Fate/Extra version and the CCC ending with him helping people out during the fucked situation that is Fate/Extra.
How does that last point even remotely matter? Shirou had no problem killing Servants. Hell, he had no problem using Cu, or fighting alongside of Medusa. Herc he kills with Artoria easy when they worked together.

yeah see the problem with that is that shirou is a good servant but he is most definitely not a good master his reserves are already on the low side but he also already uses the small reserves he has to fight a masters most important duty is not to engage in battle if not directly nececarry both to feed the servant mana so they do not weaken and so not to endanger themselves since the master of the 2 is always the weak link and the FGO protagonist doesn't just have 1 servant but multiple to combat the multiple servant in other singularies/lostbelts. Even if we consider his abilities shirou as a teen is not all that strong his only real accomplishment was beating gilgamesh when he wasn't taking shirou seriously and only did so around the end but at that point shirou was too close. the difference between shirou and a full powered servant is simply too great.

I dont think Mash and Shirou would get on too well (I know this might cause rage) but Mash and Fujimaru get along well (and most of his Servants too) is because he is Human and feels and emotes similarly to a Human. Ritsuka hates making the shitty choice. They will throw themselves headlong into danger because of the fact they have no choice, not for some magical dream. and all they want to do is live and go home. Shirou on the other hand especially the Prime Version of him might honestly be closer in principle to Archer and chases the idea of Utopia insanely, if this Utopia Shirou was given the choice to stand with Goetia they honestly might as a way to achieve the future that he so desperately wants.
I also expect that his Journey would be similar to Wodimes where the Team A/B constantly gets killed and he has to live with that. Depends on the Shirou, but while the Lost Belts are gonna be iffy, part 1 he's clearing far better than Ritsuka. Everyone when this topic comes up always brings up the aspect of Ritsuka's charisma and recruiting allies, but to be honest, he isn't really all that charismatic and most of the allies he gets, Shirou would too, if not do better in some cases.
And they're overlooking one massive facet. As a master of Chaldea, Shirou is getting mana straight from Chaldea itself. He'd be like Miyu-verse Shirou with the abundance of mana. Add that with the mystic code outfits and him being capable of spamming UBW and it's a clear. This isn't just a Shirou that would have to use his weapons himself, but a Shirou that could be literally handing out Broken Phantasms and shit to other servants like Mash to blast everything in their path.
Most of the bad ends people whine about come from choices Shirou wouldn't actually make in those situations, so have no baring either.

Great video but one aspect that I was curious about is how would Shirou's potential to contract with servants influence the story compared to Ritsuka? Because Ritsuka's accepting nature allows him to contract with so many servants and I just dont feel Shirou's hardened principles would allow him to do the same. I do think some element of the counterforce and many of FGO servants' own will to protect/preserve humanity would kick in to allow Shirou to contract with more servants more than his base Stay/Night self would, but we are very likely looking at a smaller Chaldea servant wise with him. Then again, the video explains why this buffed up Shirou wouldn't exactly need to lean on servants as much as Ritsuka does lol

I honestly don't think he makes it past Part 1. Goeita was expecting a hero, someone who believed he was out there to save everyone. The whole reason he failed was he couldn't fathom why Ritsuka was going so far, because Ritsuka wasn't a hero. Instead he wanted to just live to see tomorrow. That simple selfish disconnect in mentality is why Goeita lost among the help Ritsuka received. If Shirou fought Goeita his power wouldn't mean much, because in the end it be just what the Demon God had been expecting the whole time. Something within his level of reason and within his means to defeat.

    • @RavenCloak13
      @RavenCloak13 6 місяців тому

Well that and he didn't even consider them a threat.
Like Kirei brings up to Muramasa: "Do you expect a rock you walked over on a path to jump up and hit you?".
He actually wasn't expecting any resistance at all. To live was simply Ritsuka's reason. A completely normal and human reason. Same as Shirou's reason to just get everything back. Shirou's too bullheaded to actually care what reason Goeita would give is the problem. Same with his talks with Gilgamesh.
This also ignores the actual power that helped was Servants fighting every other part of Goeita, splitting up the focus and just keep coming back to fight. We already know Shirou would push himself to fight and over come. The mirror image mentality Goeita had while speaking to the different Servants like Hans or Mordred didn't really apply here when he became his own person. It just be the slugfest we see between him and Kirei. He wouldn't survive not because he was some hero or something dumb like that, but because he just dies. Well, maybe since he doesn't have Archers arm turning him into that and deteriorating his body.
The actual crux of this is does Shirou have enough Servants come to his aid during Solomon chapter to fight? If not, everything fucked, if so he might very well just live easy since it be far more justifiable that he physically can survive then a normal human. Like it takes the movie adding in stuff to explain why Ritsuka did when he picked up Mashu's shield. Gilgamesh granting him power, Servants helping him survive, boosting ampoles, Command Seals used on himself and so on.
I don't actually see how some hero themeing bullshit matters when it was literally the power of bonds that won.

    • @silverethereal2715
      @silverethereal2715 6 місяців тому

@@RavenCloak13 Well I wouldn't say so, the movie plays in more on the bond element however, in the end. Goeita could have planned for the Servants, hell Nega summon has far more relevance in the game fight as it explains why Ritsuka had to slug Goeita down in the end.
Ritsuka won because he was overestimated, which is exactly how Goetia says. He planned completely for one thing and got the exact opposite.
Yes the servants assisted, but it devalue the only reason they are there is because Ritsuka is the person that they are. It all relies upon the one person and their mentality. Its why that mentality is what is challenge going into the Lostbelts and is declared the right one in Lostbelt 5.
To say otherwise goes against the very narrative set up, the movie is its own continuity and wouldn't rewrite what has been already set up. Ritsuka didn't need that extra assistance in the main continuity. Mentality is far more the big issue as thats what sets up which of the Crypters could actually go the distance and why a lot actually fail.

Long story short: Shirou is not mentally prepared to handle the events of FGO. Think of all the worse events that Ritsuka witnessed and put shirou in them. His mind would break sooner or later if his body didn't.

    Babylonia

Meanwhile the real question we have to ask if this story even could happen is if we can honestly believe Shirou gets tired during the lecture, gets kicked out and doesn't get blown up like Ritsuka did.
You going to have to change stuff based on what version of Shirou we using just for this one point alone.
Lev already had a plan in motion. Like this one fact is the main krux beyond anything else.
Shirou's being put on ice like the rest or we have to write around the explosion with say he used Rho Aias or something to that effect on instict depending on the Shirou we using.

Giving that the main reason Shirou survives the first night of FSN is because of Avalon, without it he would have died due to his self sacrifice
I mean, canonically speaking Ritsuka Fujimaru is the only master capable of solving the Incineration of Human History and the Lostbelts, so Shirou would inevitably die eventually

That... is just false, both Wodime and Daybit are literally CONFIRMED to be able to do everything Ritsuka did, but even BETTER, since they did it without the help of Chaldea and Daybit(To avoid spoilers I'll be vague) did it with an even more impressive restriction.

  • @OrionoftheStar
    @OrionoftheStar 5 місяців тому +1

I don't think Shirou would be able to get through the Singularities simply because he's not really a "people person" like Ritsuka is. Ritsuka can understand and accept anyone. I'm pretty sure Shirou's "Hero of Justice" schtick would put a wedge in between him and some of the servants he'd otherwise need to rely on.
