Not sure why I never thought of doing this but it's a great tip. Would feel like I was shooting blind sometimes and I'll end up taking the same shot at a couple different exposures just in case. Also got my recipe dialed in to how I like it when viewed on my phone but didn't realise how different it actually looked on the camera screen, so I adjusted the colour balance quite a bit as well. Surprising how much better the screen can look on the GR.
@@PraveenKumar-fs6of In bright sunlight I change the Outdoor View Setting anyway and what you're changing in this video doesn't affect the brightness levels when using anything that's not the default setting in the Outdoor View Setting. -2 on OVS is the same as setting the Brightness in LCD Setting all the way to -7 and +2 is the same as +7 and these values don't change. You can actually make the default OVS darker than -1 or just as dark as -2 etc.
I did this exact thing with all my Fujis, and tweaked the colour too. Good thing with using a Mac is the screens are calibrated pretty good out of the box (after turning off all the True Tone night shift stuff), so I just tried to match it across my MacBook Pro and iPhone
I shoot raw + jpeg on Fuji, as when I'm on the go I do use the xapp to transfer images to my phone for casual sharing with friends and family, etc. Though I also do a quick edit of the photos in LR mobile lol. This was a great video and tip though, as I edit my raws I never really considered EVF/LCD brightness as that important a factor for the final image, as I usually pump it up a bit for usability, but for sooc jpeg it makes a lot of sense to calibrate it!

I don’t bother with the color tweaking but I hear you on the screen difference
But then you can't see The Display in Bright light !

I started with JPEG but now shoot raw and edit after. Find it kinda relax when editing.
Waiting for an XT50 review from you 😸
Send one my way
Good info.
Will surely try this one. Looks very obvious but never learned this.
I don’t think this is actually a common practice tbh
Do you shoot with JPEG film sims or edit raws after the fact?
