- Yemen’s bloody civil war has killed nearly a quarter of million people, with Houthi fighters backed by Iran locked in conflict with the country’s Saudi-supported government. The war has left half the country without reliable access to food. And children are paying the heaviest price.

Well you live in a place not filled with these people, they can't run much and fail, so of course all their sh*t is fucked up. I don't see how that's the world's issue. @@Handsoffblackgirls Reporters are often told not to get involved. In some situations if they intervene they can get in trouble for it especially if they're not in their own country. There are occasions that have been captured on video or via photo of reporters helping people when they were in need. There are a handful of them but the only one that I can think of off of my head is the picture of Andrew Cooper rescuing a young man

It’s like what’s happening in Tigray, people are starving, their leaders attacking regions the gov trying to stop them because they are a threat to the whole country.
To get to the Tigray people, the tplf need to allow aid workers to go safely without harm. However they don’t care because their sim is to just cause distraction and take power no matter the cost.
It’s a sad situation because innocent people who suffer and rebel groups don’t care, they gave no sympathy for the children.

Because people from countries like that don't treat human life the same way we do. This is normal for places like that. They want what they want at any cost. A human life means nothing to them. I feel sorry for the innocent people and children having to endure a life like this. We are so lucky for what we have, yet people still complain about being called names 🙄 it's truly disturbing.

I totally agree. I can't imagine how hopeless and soul crushing that job must be. To go into a field specifically to help people, children and essentially all you can do is watch them slowly deteriorate until they pass on because there is literally nothing else you can do. I truly do not understand why these sorts of things are being allowed to happen in this day and age, when there are billionaires either hoarding their money and spending it on useless crap. This world is truly fucked up and I can only pray that we will be able to make a change in the future. I have nothing but absolute respect and honour for these types of people, on the front lines fighting the good fight, despite the circumstances being completely against them.

When most people are given the option to work for their money or stay home all day and the government will send you a check, people chose to stay home. We are seeing a major job shortage now. With companies not being able to run fully staffed, products will becomes less available to purchase. This country depends on every type of job to be done. We need cars to be built, we need people to make the batteries to run the cars, we need truck drivers, we need electricians, so on and so forth. What is the point in busting your butt to do these jobs when everyone will be getting what they need to live regardless if you work or not. The place where I work, we have some jobs that get a flat rate, no matter what they produce. We also have jobs that have a piece rate...the more you produce, the more you make. The piece rate jobs, people are busting their butt to keep machines running. The flat rate jobs, people are goofing around, talking, walking away from machine, and don't care if the machine runs at all. Unfortunately, you need to dangle a carrot in front of people to get them to work. The idea that everyone will get what they need to live regardless if they work or not, is the beginning of the end of the world we know. Companies will close left and right. Noone will want to do anything but stay home and be lazy.
She’s crying without sound…..and she died 2 days later. That shattered my heart. She was so weak and lethargic. My daughter is 2 and I swear, from the moment she was born, my heart has been living outside my body. I cannot imagine being in these parents’ position. It’s literally a lottery based on where you’re born. I’m blessed to have been born in the US. These people have all of my sympathy. When I pray, I can’t even get through everything I want to pray for because there’s so much suffering in the world. Lord, bless these people and those like them ❤

The point of this message isn’t for people to feel bad. It’s to open our eyes, to change. Instagram and all of these aesthetically pleasing platforms literally are a distraction from what is happening in real time. Children have been starving, it’s heartbreaking to see everywhere. It’s even more sad to have an update that babies did shortly after being filmed. I’m thankful for documentaries. I’m thankful everyday. Everyday. And this is a reminder to be more giving, daily.

@@zoesolanki961 I donate as much as I can to different causes. I chose to adopt a puppy, I brought the puppy into my life, into my home, that was my choice and that is the way I choose to treat him. I don't have to do less of one thing to be able to do another. These babies absolutely should not be dying from hunger, my puppy in comparison is unfortunately treated as a king. But isn't that why we bring animals into our lives? They don't worry when their next meal is, we provide shelter and love. As soon as I watched the video and researched where to donate, I don't always trust the money goes where its needed, but I give it in good faith.

Imagine how much food we throw out everyday in America. I feel like we have everything we need here to help others but greed, selfishness, etc is what hinders us from saving the world.
This would be solved not by not wasting food, but by keeping the US out of everyone's business. This is a US-made famine because the US is the one backing everything Saudi Arabia does.
The amount of food that regulations make us discard is another huge issue. I worked for a company for years filling vending machines with every food candy snacks drinks chips imaginable. I passed a lical food bank on my way back to the shop so once a week i was dropping off tons of stuff that was a out ready to expire in a day or 2 . When the company found out I almost got fired because they said well if someone gets sick or even cut in a wrapper they cod get a law suite. So thank the laws and bs that also causes these issues.

In a very sad way, I’m glad that he passed so he no longer has to suffer. When they said he was 4, I was in total disbelief seeing him; he’s been systematically starving his whole life and his poor mother couldn’t save him despite her efforts. Just heartbreaking.

I am from Yemen
Unfortunately, there are people who are my neighbors who are very poor and do not have enough to eat because of the famine in the country
And they have the youngest boy who is sick with a malignant disease in his right leg, and they do not have the value of treatment, although he only needs treatment abroad, and the father is sick with cancer and he cannot get up, and their condition is very bad. Every day they suffer more.
We can do nothing for them other than pray

When she held the poor starving baby crying my heart literally broke. As a new mom I know I would be devastated to see my baby starving like that. I can only imagine how those moms are feeling. I'm praying and definitely looking into how I can help because this is heartbreaking and needs to STOP.

Many other countries used to have women marry at 14-15 many years ago, but that has since changed, which means it can change in Yemen too.

But if u read about them they have donated billions to poor countries but it still not enough because these poor countries have a flawed system and not allying with the western/rich countries. It's a Saudi and Iran (Sunni vs Shia) thing. On top of that, Mohammed bin Salman wants to solidify his stature as the hardman (Khomeini like) Saudi never had, and in fact he was the mastermind of the attack against Yemen. It's a matter of ego, a battle of ideologies and lives cost less than the cheapest thing you can imagine.

I come from Yemen, specifically from the region this video was filmed in.
The men that were shown at the beginning of the video those are Houthis ( a group of rebels who destroyed our hope for democracy and who the saudis claim they are in yemen to fight).
Those babies are malnourished because their moms can't breastfeed them because they don't get enough food. A baby is not like an adult, a baby can't eat wet old bread and grow. I have seen babis as skinny as the babies in the video but with bloated bellies because their parents only fed them wet old bread only and that is just not enough for a growing child.
Most people are not well fed and don't get the humanitarian aid because Houthis don't let them. Houthis allowed people to register for the humanitarian aid coming from the UN just once, when the aid started coming to Yemen. After that everytime someone asks for some aid the Houthis refuse saying that the UN is not sending more, while people can find the aid coming from the UN ( with NOT for sale labels) sold in supermarkets in Sana'a.
It is documented that the UN has stopped the humanitarian aid sent to Yemen because the UN realized that the Houthis are selling that humanitarian aid, but despite the Houthos misuse of the humanitarian aid they had to resume sending it because that was the only way of getting the aid to the poeple who live under the Houthos backwarded regime.
Houthis are well fed , they are as responsible for the people dying as the Saudi.
Houthis couldn't care less about those people the are as bad as the Saudis. Houthis stop oil tankers from going into the country so they can jack up the price and sell it themselves in the black market.
Houthis won't mind letting people starve to death as long as they get rule them and blame others just.

It is a tragedy. I hate how kids are always the biggest victims when adults are having conflicts. Not to blast Yemen, but I also can't understand why people in dire poverty even bother having kids in the first place. I get that it's a different culture (and/or maybe no access to contraception is understandable, too), but it still seems selfish in my opinion, if not downright cruel, if you can prevent it. I couldn't bring a child into the world just to suffer like this.
i went to a middle school in dearborn that was 99% yemeni populated, since dearborn/dearborn heights/detroit is heavily populated with arabs and yemenis alike. i was one of the few non-yemenis in the school, and felt so unwelcome. not because of the people, but because of the environments they came from. half of these kids had came straight from a war-torn country. some of their relatives still trapped in yemen, and some had relatives dying/dead in yemen. the trauma and ptsd i witnessed was unreal. someone dropped a textbook in class, and 3 kids broke out into tears. i was heartbroken. even when they came here to america hoping for a better life, they couldnt afford high quality clothes or shoes, or even school supplies like pencils and backpacks. the language barrier made it even worse. my mom was a teacher there as well. as a elementary/middle school kid, i felt neglected by my mother and felt she gave more attention to her students than her own children. she explained to me how these kids dont have people to rely on at home. they didnt have resources like i did, and didnt get help on their math homework. 5th, 6th, 7th graders, and so on, MY age. same interests. but different lifestyles. and i finally understand what my mom meant. she wanted to be the adult figure in her students lives. i feel for this country, and i cant bear to see it like this any longer. i cant bear to see my friends watch their country be destroyed day by day, and see the pain in them. im praying to allah that this country can have peace again, and can return to what it was before the war. ameen.

This couldn’t be more gutwrenching to me. I’ve had an eating disorder for nearly 20 years. I’ve been in states of severe malnutrition with scurvy, anaemia, B12 deficiency, potassium deficiency. I was so underweight my heart couldn’t function properly and I fainted every time I stood up. But I spent 7 months in hospital, and managed to find an incredible treatment team who keep me alive. I feel so ashamed watching this. I know how horrendous those little babies feel, at least I almost do. Why isn’t this crisis a priority? Oh because we live in a world where we only care about money. I would give my food to feed these precious children any day. They deserve it.

I am a new mom and everytime my child cries I feel so much sadness. My heart lives outside of my body, it lives within him. I cannot imagine how painful it must be to watch your child starve for weeks, months and years... Seeing this 4 years old child is almost as big as my 4 month old son just breaks my heart. This is heartbreaking, as a parent I can’t imagine the pain these parents and their children have to go through.
Every single one of us could FIX this if we united in voice that we must help each other and if we rejected all forms of ethnic, cultural and political divide. But politics is important. It's the only way we make changes. Get your butt involved and learn ALL sides of an issue and then *please* vote. These families depend on it.
Politics is evil, politics is commerce escalated without control until it has a grasp on every aspect of our leadership. But that's only because we keep allowing it to happen by letting people with agendas influence us.
If you want to stop seeing things like this, start accepting the idea that we could actually stop this from happening if we all came to the same idea and wanted the same thing.

I agree. You can't care about babies (and the children they eventually become) and go silent while they starve. The women and children in these countries are they ones being punished. They didn't start the Civil War
@@Transformational_change so so so many prolifers are actively fostering, adopting, feeding, housing, and rescuing children, as well as the mothers, in need. Out of their own pockets!! Dig deeper than what the abortion industry, the Democrat party, and the lapdog media feeds you, and look within your own community: churches' outreach, food banks, people's own homes, etc. Pregnancy resource centers outnumber abortion facilities. Prolife individuals and families are doing the hourly, daily, annual work with little to no outside recognition for it. Why? Because greedy corporations-- especially hormonal birth control companies, the abortion industry, and pro-abort politicians--can't make money off of genuine charity efforts that actually solve and prevent crises. Prolife culture is a threat to their pocketbooks, hence the relentless mischaracterizations, outright lies, and attacks on orgs that equip women & children, unlike themselves who just want repeat victimization of women & children to enslave and/or maim them. Believe me, if prolifers had the power and influence to rescue these suffering children from starvation & death, and equip their families to survive & thrive, they absolutely would make it happen.
