Inside The World's Worst Humanitarian Crisis

  • “If you survived the mines, you’d get killed by a sniper,” said Khaled Ahyaf, a Doctor at a child malnutrition clinic in Eastern Yemen, barely a mile from an active frontline, explaining why he can’t get desperately needed supplies. “We’re living on the last 5%,” said Nabat Sulaiman, a nurse, “we only do the limited work we can do. We beg them, try to make peace.”
    They were surrounded by tiny, emaciated and wailing babies, just some of the 20 million people now facing famine due to the war in Yemen.
    A coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been fighting for four years in an attempt to defeat the Houthi rebels, who they see as Iranian proxies. But there is no victory in sight, various efforts at a peace deal have failed and the war, being waged with US supplied weapons and equipment, grinds on. Air-strikes, landmines, rag-tag militias who use child soldiers and widespread blockades of food and aid have made this the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
    VICE News travelled to Yemen in October 2018 to report on the civilians who are being hit the hardest, the brave volunteers risking their lives to save them and the motley crew of U.S.-backed fighters , who want a fight to the finish, regardless of the costs.

The main concept in these Reality Shows is to feel better about yourself, when you know there is someone having it worse than you. And that is not the point of these documentaries. Everytime I go in the comment section of these videos, there is always at least one guy comparing his life to the life of the people in the videos and that annoys me haha but that's just my opinion.

    People say this is about religion. War has always been about one thing, and one thing only: power. Whether it was land, religion, money, all wars were started and driven by power. Religion is a symptom of the human being wanting power of another entity, be it land or people, or even peoples way of life.

      i am from Yemen and what you say is true, its not about religion its a war for dominance, all i know is Yemen people has nothing to do with this and its not a civil war or religious war, outside rich & powerful countries came to our country to fight and seek to take control of our region. The are regarding my country as a battlefield to solve their disputes

      Greed for power is culturally conditioned. You are not born with it just as you are not born to be compassionate. You learn both behaviours. Certain religious or political ideologies condition such behaviour as greed for power by brainwashing with such primitive values since birth.
      Some currently dominating religions teach that you can only become truly powerful after death when you reach paradise. So followers of these religions do not value present life, just imaginary life after death that they believe to be the real one and ultimate goal. They don't care about blowing themselves up in a bus full of children as they believe that if these children are innocent they would go to their imaginary paradise anyway. Delusional beliefs have always been the worst causes of violence and wars in the history.

    • @SomeOne-mf3us
      @SomeOne-mf3us 4 роки тому +1

      @Hygrave further explain yourself. Religion goes back many years and people mainly worshiped gods in times of uncertainty. This shows that people seeked some form of peace by putting their problems onto a divine entity. They did not just randomly create gods to gain power. Religion is not a side effect of people's greed.
