The way in which Gojo's technique works is that he is able to alter time by diverging the finite area around him infinitely, hence the name infinity. Now, if we go ahead and put this bowl in the freezer and allow it to freeze properly, what do you suppose will happen? Let's just imagine that, like Dio's Stand "The World" is able to instantly freeze time everywhere, all the water within the bowl instantly freezes. Now if we observe Gojo, while the inside of the plastic ball is frozen along with the object, said plastic ball still exists. So question is now, is The World a physical tangible being? No. It isn't. Lemme explain, we learn in the introduction of Stands that they don't have physical presence, and are intangible to any non-stand actions, or the actions of stand users. Meaning someone like Gojo couldn't see or interact with The World. Despite The World being able to interact with him. But the obvious counter-arguement is that although yes, The World is not a physical tangible being for Gojo, it is very much so for DIO, as we see stands constantly grabbing, holding, encasing, and otherwise interacting with Stand users, and we know from evidence that more powerful Stands like Star Platinum and The World, have a sense of their own free will, due to their users having such high fighting spirit. With the main manifestation of this being self preservation, constantly blocking attacks the User didn't even know were there or couldn't think fast enough to react to. So now the question is, does The World being physical to DIO mean that if DIO is hit by infinity, that The World would suffer the same effects? Again, no. Although stands can be called physical to their users in some metaphorical sense, they lack any actual physical form even to the users, the times where stands are used to grab and transport users is not really a representation of the Stands physical presence as much as it is the users fighting spirit being used for a certain task, really the physical things Stands do are powered by the users mind. This isnt even mentioning timestop, which just negates infinity entirely, this doesnt even take into consideration the massive speed difference or durability. Infinity, being active at all times, is going to prevent any attack The World uses in stopped time, because Gojo is infinitely diverging time and space around him, he doesn't need to perceive the attacks moving in stopped time, when the area and comfortable distance around him is already being manipulated infinitely. Dio loses, The World (might) be able to damage Gojo, but highly unlikely to any severe extent.

Even city level MFTL+ Dio Beats Gojo. Hollow purple isn’t imaginary Viz even corrects themselves later on by calling it virtual. Dio’s cells healed from Za Hando so he can regenerate from his soul. Which is consistent as Jotaro had to destroy his stand to defeat him and stop his regeneration.

The Sun was increasing the irradiance (energy transmitted through light) so there its not possible to make it an island feat of conventional energy. You cant assume the energy a stand produces in form of heat just by the area it covers. Also no evidence he is using the same energy on every place of the desert. Thats an appeal to possibility. And no one in Jojo can scale to that heat levels as calculating heat requires other variables than energy. Not to mention those "city level" beams needed multiple shots to down a camel. With the exception of the anime-only SRSE feat which is questionably calced to town level even though all it did was part some clouds (It could be town level though),most vampires and Pillar men output large building level feats at maximum. The SRSE is a comical outlier in the anime even when compared to objectively superior characters feats such as Wamuu and Kars (pre-ULF)

My theory is that although Gojo can slow down DIO with infinity as much as he wants, Dio's thought process, and by extension, his stand The World, go unaffected, Gojo's infinity is confirmed to be limited to physical attacks, any form of energy that doesn't take any sort of physical tangible form is immune. So question is now, is The World a physical tangible being? No. It isn't. Lemme explain, we learn in the introduction of Stands that they don't have physical presence, and are intangible to any non-stand actions, or the actions of stand users. Meaning someone like Gojo couldn't see or interact with The World. Despite The World being able to interact with him. But the obvious counter-arguement is that although yes, The World is not a physical tangible being for Gojo, it is very much so for DIO, as we see stands constantly grabbing, holding, encasing, and otherwise interacting with Stand users, and we know from evidence that more powerful Stands like Star Platinum and The World, have a sense of their own free will, due to their users having such high fighting spirit. With the main manifestation of this being self preservation, constantly blocking attacks the User didn't even know were there or couldn't think fast enough to react to. So now the question is, does The World being physical to DIO mean that if DIO is hit by infinity, that The World would suffer the same effects? Again, no. Although stands can be called physical to their users in some metaphorical sense, they lack any actual physical form even to the users, the times where stands are used to grab and transport users is not really a representation of the Stands physical presence as much as it is the users fighting spirit being used for a certain task, really the physical things Stands do are powered by the users mind. This isnt even mentioning timestop, which just negates infinity entirely, this doesnt even take into consideration the massive speed difference or durability. I like Gojo and all but beefing with a JoJos villain is a surefire way to lose to wackiness

Infinity, being active at all times, is going to prevent any attack The World uses in stopped time, because Gojo is infinitely diverging time and space around him, he doesn't need to perceive the attacks moving in stopped time, when the area and comfortable distance around him is already being manipulated infinitely. Dio loses, The World (might) be able to damage Gojo, but highly unlikely to any severe extent.

Even city level MFTL+ Dio Beats Gojo. Hollow purple isn’t imaginary Viz even corrects themselves later on by calling it virtual. Dio’s cells healed from Za Hando so he can regenerate from his soul. Which is consistent as Jotaro had to destroy his stand to defeat him and stop his regeneration.

@nighibfinite Keep in mind Dio has no way to scale to The Sun as a whole 😭. Energy=(Area x Time)/Irradiance. The Sun was increasing the irradiance (energy transmitted through light) so there its not possible to make it an island feat of conventional energy. You cant assume the energy a stand produces in form of heat just by the area it covers. Also no evidence he is using the same energy on every place of the desert. Thats an appeal to possibility. And no one in Jojo can scale to that heat levels as calculating heat requires other variables than energy.
Not to mention those "city level" beams needed multiple shots to down a camel.
With the exception of the anime-only SRSE feat which is questionably calced to town level even though all it did was part some clouds (It could be town level though),most vampires and Pillar men output large building level feats at maximum.

I do like this fight play mostly because of the banter the two would go at about which one of them is actually god but the only advantage deal actually has is time stop and his stand going intangible unfortunately agoJo can just increase his cruse energy so it won't really Pierce him as Time stops and none of that is really going to help unless you exactly knows to aim for the head which I think he would figure out he is pretty smart too. Dio is by far one of the stronger villains with or without the stand but his kills aren’t as guaranteed as someone like cheap trick for example despite not having any of his better feats
Just Main villains? WOU, Funny Valentine, Pucci, Kars, DIO. Not exactly in that order, but WOU is on the top, and DIO is at 5. Arabia Fats, a non-main villain (and one of the most disappointing enemy stand users to date) technically has the potential to push DIO down a step because he could just instantly incinerate DIO with The Sun, but DIO was lucky enough to have him on his side.
