That is a major part of why this is so awesome. Respect is given to both character and it gave a pretty damn good plot despite it mostly just being a long protracted battle. Cool as fuck.

However, because he isn't malicious, Saitama allows Goku time to recover on several occasions because he was starting to have fun again. He forced Goku to go beyond his limits while Goku forced him to actually go all out.

Tbh, I dont even care who won, cuz it was super fun just to watch their interactions and colliding personalities. Goky and Saitama are polar opposites in their ideas and personality. Goky is a strong-headed warrior willing to actively seek out a challenge or a stronger warrior to fight against. He holds fighting and valor super high. Saitama, however, doesnt give a darn about putting in effort into fighting and just wants to have fun. This is honestly one of the most perfect matchups in fiction, not because of power similarity, but because of how different they are mentally.

Everyone of Goku's attacks should've strengthened saitama, which means unless saitama was finished in one clean hit, where he gets disintegrated, it would be impossible to beat him.

As a huge fan of both characters, this is beyond anything I could’ve ever hoped for in a fan animation. Absolutely unreal talent, mind-boggling that one fan created this.
Takes one of the most talked about ‘what-if’ fight scenarios, makes it almost an hour long with god-level animation, AND stays faithful to the actual character’s personalities? Bruh this is a dream come true and then some. Watching this made me feel like a kid again, so fucking hype.

Are you sure you are a fan of both? I am sure Goku personally is completely off. He resembles more Vegeta than Goku. Goku is easy going and happy, he would not approach a fight for sparing with this angry and serious attitude and act as a try hard, also he would be overjoyed about facing a powerful opponent, there is none of that in this animation.
Saitama on his end is also easy going and he would feel that Goku is not a bad guy from the start, he is the one that see through people considered villains as being actually good guys, he would perceive one of the most good natured people as being a good guy as well.
If anything this animation got theirs personalities completely wrong…

I don't know if the creator of this realizes how special this is to me and others. It's two different generations, with one clearly drawing roots from it's predecessor. One punch man was made with dragtonball in mind. Look at the opening villain form the first scene in the first episode, he looks so much like piccolo. The use of side characters and using the mannerism of the characters in how they would ACTUALLY interact was spot on. I am speechless.

Honestly, I stumbled upon this by chance, but this is the best fan animation I have ever seen in my life. I'm and fan of both series and this fight encompassed the way these men would truly fight and the emotions they would feel.
(My only gripe is that the audio cuts out during parts of the fight and not everything is subtitled, but that's it.)

Most of the voice-over is actually taken from their respective anime but yeah, this work is simply other-worldly. How did this guy make an almost 43 minute animation which surpasses countless studio's animations?

Only problem with this is that Saitama is ONE punch man, not multiple punches man so the fight should've ended in the first punch. Nuff said. That aside, a lot of hard and awesome work went into making this and I will admit it is impressive.

But at least this is somewhat reasonable Saitama is strong but got no technique, and this was made months ago. So, it doesn't include his ultimate martial art that he got from Garou.
