Hi Josh, would you be able to give me the short hedge trimmers code e.g HTA2000. I have searched google, and ego website, being in Australia they sometimes don’t sell the same equipment. @@1greenthumbgardeningtwba I'm in the UK so it's most likely a different model etc... But it's the HTA2000S 51CM HEDGE TRIMMER ATTACHMENT. I'm not sure if it's a newer attachment? But it's certainly a great addition to the long one 👍🏻 I do really enjoy cutting low hedges without the bending and everything you mentioned in the video. Cheers.
I agree, I prefer using my Ego multi and Hedge attachment rather than normal hedgers. I also find I get a better result with it as I stand further back and get a better view
Very good explanation. Just bought a normal 65 cm one like the one the other guy uses in the video. On special with 2x 2.5ah batteries. Found it a bit front heavy after a couple of hours use, coming from an echo petrol which is heavier overall but a good machine. I rate the one I bought a lot but do quite a lot of various size so perhaps missed out on something here. Will keep an eye out for a cheap multi tool hedger.
Hi Grant, thanks for the feedback, the 2.5ah batteries are the way to go on that tool a 5ah gets way to heavy. The problem with a backpack is the cord gets cut. Another reason I like the ego multi tool hedge trimmer is I can wear the backpack and have a 7.5ah and go for hours. Thanks Scotty
Handheld trimmers usually have 180 Degrees Adjustable Rotatable Handel. For this I would use 20 V lightweight 2,5 kg Handheld trimmers. for low bushes you don’t have to stand on your feet, you can be with one foot on your knee with the other bent on your foot or something else.
If run time isn't an issue for home use, do you think the 2.5 Ah battery plugged into the power head or the backpack is better in terms of balance, weight, and handling? I'll be using the hedge trimmer attachment with/without the extension pole for chest-high up to 4m hedges, sometimes on a ladder. I have a 5Ah which could go in the backpack but is probably too heavy to plug into the power head. The price of a 2.5 and the backpack are about the same when on sale in the US. All your multi tool videos have been super helpful - thank you!
Hi @terraxr I actually had to use multi tool last week with batteries as one of the straps broke on my backpack. Needless to say using any battery was a lot more weight and strain on the upper body, I have 4 X 2.5amp batteries, the 5amp is too heavy. On the tool. I generally have a 7.5 in the back pack I fixed my backpack and was very grateful to have it back. I asked my employee to use the multi tool for hedges and whipper snipping and he said he found the balance better with the backpack and it was to heavy with the 2.5amp. he much preferred the backpack. I will have to do a video showing the balance vs weight. I recommend the backpack. Thanks for your comment Scotty
Scotty, great idea to do a video on this! One guy on Reddit's EGO forum claimed the 2.5 Ah and the backpack's plastic "dummy" battery weighed the same. And another UA-camr said he liked using the 5 Ah to balance everything. Maybe he's always on the ground with the extension ... but now I'm a bit confused. Like you, I don't want to strain my back. Looking forward to a video about this - cheers!
Hey Mate, There was a pest tree there. If you have a look at 6:53 you will notice the difference in foliage. I can’t remember what it was, since then I have learnt that to poison a plant it is best to do it within 15-30 seconds before the healing process and it draws the chemical in.
Hi nick. The 2.5amp are great with the hand held and multi tool hedge trimmers. Not so good for anything that needs that extra bit of punch like using the multi tool with the whipper snipper or bristle brush My wife loves the 2.5amp on the hand held hedger which gives about an hour use. We take rapid chargers with us and charge on the job. If you can write me a list of all your questions I will do my best to answer them. Dang that’s some smooth hedging. Even with the longer trimmer you had no issues with the smaller plants but could you explain what you did at 7:08?

Hi and thanks for the video. You mentioned that you cut the blade short on one of the handheld units… is there anything to consider when doing that?

On a uk site I found that the cutting speed (spm) is 3200/2800. Hopefully this helps
