Chorus:
You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town
You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town

He's checking it twice
He's going to find out
Who's naughty and nice, Santa Claus is coming to town

My dad was a huge Springsteen fan and every time I hear this in a store or on the radio, I know that’s him saying he’s ok up in heaven merry Christmas 2019... RIP dad...
Bruce sprinteen trop bon j'adore de josee
My dad died of colon and liver cancer.... sure do miss him☹️☹️
May he watch over you and his Holy Spirit walk among you😔
@@kevin2400 he's up there watching over you smiling and happy you have a great taste in music like he did
Last year me and my mom had no idea how we pulled Christmas Eve and day off but we hung in there the best we could
"Clarence, you been rehearsing real hard now, so Santa get you a new saxophone, right?"
all time fave!
Yeah
The Big Man is the best!
RIP Clarence!!
Never was a fan of this version until my dad always got so happy when this came on the radio. Now this makes its regular rotation every year on my Christmas playlist. Thanks dad ❤️
Oh thank you so much for Christmas November
As it should. This is one way to honor your Dad at Christmas. I'm an old 66 year old retired guy. I have songs my father enjoyed during Christmas. He was born in 1915.Passed away in 2000. I listen to them even now and know he's listening. This brings me my Christmas joy.
good for u samantha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! regard - johnny raider #12
Today is my dad's birthday
Ya idc which other people like it, it sucks.
Can we agree that this version is the absolute BEST
Agreed
My dad had this on vinyl and I used to play the over and over and over. He passed away 7 years ago from a sudden, unexpected death and never got to meet my son. I now play this for my son and he loves it. It's a way to remember my dad and make new memories for my son.
Sorry for your loss, happy for your gain. That's awesome brother! I have a son too. He's the best gift life has given me, because he gives me life.
All my love to you
Nope, your Dad met your son on his way to you. He sees and is around your son every moment of every day. Spirit never dies! ❤
🙏🏼
God bless you I hope one day you will see your son
Hearing his voice in the beginning. Makes me feel so happy, with tears of joy. It's just warming.
Me on November 30th: *listens to dancing in the dark for the millionth time*
Me on December 1st: *listens to Bruce’s rendition of Santa Claus is coming to town*
Hey um its june I'm more earlier

Time Machine? - I'm here on 11/30/21 listening to this, and most likely tomorrow 12/1/21 too. I still prefer Pre-covid though!
One of my favorite Bruce Springsteen songs of all time! And I will NEVER forget The Big Man, Clarence Clemons! He and Bruce were just incredible together! Love you all and Merry Christmas 'cuz Santa Claus is coming to town!
u really, really, really got that right ED !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I COULDNT' AGREE MORE !!!!!!!! regards, JOHNNY RAIDER #12 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this for two reasons. 1. It's Bruce Springsteen. 2. The Chorus for "You better be good for goodness sake."
Ullie Happy 2020 ❤️🤠🔪🙏🎵
And don't forget Clarence
Hear this song at least 12 times every Christmas (how appropriate), but I never EVER get tired of it since Springsteen puts his soul into it.
He sure did put his soul into it, especially by substituting the word Sin for town the sixth time he sings the line following the satanic rule of 6. Santa being an anagram of Satan and Christmas day being Nimrod's birthday. Jesus was actually born on September 11th whiçh is why that awful satanic ritual was carried out that day in 2001 in New York.
@@markkelly8674 Are you high?

absolutely love the beginning of this song before the actual lyrics come in. bruce just sounds so happy and spirited talking to the audience, so hard not to love this guy
You know you are a Springsteen fan and it's okay when Bruce sings this song in concert, and it's in July
Why the hell not, ya know? And as they say, theres Christmas in July!
hawkeye pierce ❤
Yeah 😀👍
Yeah...it's May & I'm listening to this...so...who cares what the song is about, Bruce is singing it therefore it's amazing!😂
Almost July and I'm listening
I was in the car earlier and this came on....i blasted it. Its not Christmas until this is on the radio!
I totally agree!!!
So say we all.
The reason this songs is an classic is the sheer, absolute, joy that they are having. Thanks BS and friends
This version of the song was recorded at a concert. This was the very last song of a four hour set he did!! Towards the end of the song, he can barely hold it together after four hours of singing and it cracks me up every time.
This is my dad's all-time favorite Christmas song, he and I sing it almost every year on Christmas Eve while wearing our cool sunglasses, and when the saxophone solo, which is our absolute favorite part, comes, I get out my inflatable saxophone, and start "playing" it LIKE A BOSS! And that always makes our family scream and cheer!
no other christmas song could capture quite the same feeling, that pure joy
That is true, happy Xmas 😊😊🎶🎄👍🎉
You must only smoke da good shit , bro
Me smoke the good stuff on Christmas , yo
Best Version!!
Oh and Clarence rip Santa all we want is this legend to live again, because music misses him, and Springsteen's is missing something without him.
His little laughs and giggles in the song always make my day better! :)
Do you possibly know where this version of this song is from originally? I love his laughing and I just wanna see what made him laugh
@@Queenallie2294 just from the audio I’m pretty sure he was laughing at the member of his band saying “ho ho ho” into the mic, not 100% sure though because he never recorded his earlier shows as much as he does now.
I like how half the song is him hyping them up lmao
btw thanks for everyone liking this it made my christmas last year!

Unquestionably the best version of this song ever. Merry Christmas, everybody!
Ever since I was a kid, and to this day, this song makes me grin and giggle- most jolly Christmas song ever, and my favorite Christmas song
hi
I'm 48 and remember the first time I heard it on the radio I was in love. It snowed for 2 days and the roads were impassable.
Second best Christmas song.......
The Pogues - Fairytale of New York is the best Christmas song😚👌
I love you comment! #lovin it
This song gets me in the mood for Christmas Everytime I grew up with it too
The Christmas song that gets me in the Christmas mood since the mid 1980's.
Man, Bruce sounds like he is just having an absolute blast singing and enjoying himself to the fullest.
Yep, he's looking to go out in the blaze of glory like Meat Loaf did
That’s what makes his version of this song so great!
Yeah!
too bad it's objectively terrible. wonderful christmastime is the only holiday song that irks me more.
Yeah, back when he was good.
just one of them christmas songs that makes me feel all warm and cozy inside
Nicholas Stevenson dude me to. this is the 1st song i heard by him when i was a kid and still fuckin rocks
@@kristoferbatdorf2873 My favorite version of this song!
One of my favorite memories of seeing Bruce in concert is being there for the tour debut of “Santa” in 2002: December 4th at the Civic Arena. An awesome way to end the show, complete with Bruce in a Santa hat.
Brother and I went to pick up my grandmother to bring her to our place for Christmas dinner tonight. She is slowing down quite a bit so she doesn’t do as much of the things she used to these days. We were driving to my house and this very song, Bruce Springsteen’s version was playing on the radio. I started singing along a little and next thing I knew she had joined in a bit herself! She didn’t sing for very long, but hearing her sing with me warmed my heart! I don’t remember the last time I heard her sing anything! Wishing a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to y’all!
That,s special prayers for Grandma and thanks to the boss🎄🎄
That was so awesome!!
My heart just grew 10x ...
Very nice sentiment.
I wish you and yours the happiest 2020 .
Probably my favorite thing about songs in general - there are those that always will remind you of someone special , or a moment ( good or bad ).
I couldn’t exactly tell anyone what song does what to me - but when I hear a certain song ??? Takes me right back .
Happy New Year ❤️🤠🔪🙏🎵
Great story! Thanks
By the time Bruce gets to the second "He sees you when you're sleeping" verse... I'm hyped as all hell.
Mr. Original Oh you are So Invited to my channel ❤️🤠🔪🎵🙏
Christmas doesn't officially start until The Boss reminds us The Big Man is coming to town.
Merry Christmas Paul.
Lol Christmas time just started today for me
Tended to hear this in those relaxing, indulging family days at home immediately after Christmas, when Santa had been to town, done his thing and flown away on his sleigh again with a mince pie between his teeth and a glass of festive cheer in hand,so I was clearly getting Bruce's memo late.
This is the Best Christmas Song 🎵 from a Jersey Boy The Boss!
Never Chrisrmas until you hear this on the radio
+Shaun Taylor Agreed!
Hard to believe this isn't the first result on search.
So true.
They played it and I was like I need to hear this then at 50 seconds they interrupted it for talk radio.
Yep, I feel exactly the same!! Brooooooce!!
My late sister loved this song.... whenever 🎉I hear it, I think of her ♥️♥️♥️
I love this version. I play bass, and nailing this bassline makes me feel like I've done something.
Bruce Springsteen is the Boss! Santa knows. Jesus Christ loves you. Merry Christmas!
Thanks
This song always puts me in a good mood! Especially hearing THE BOSS chuckling near the end. RIP Clarence!!
Tanya It really does !

I'm black and I like this version better than the Jackson 5 😭😭😭😭 I guess because I'm from NJ lol
Me too I like it better than the Jackson 5 version
Should be the main Christmas song. The one and only. It's always Christmas when I hear this amazing tune.
Santa Claus is coming to town..
I have always love Bruce's version of this song,he has alot of fun with this song.
Literally the sound of Christmas here in New Jersey

December 24, 2021. Merry Christmas, Springsteen fans.
My favorite version of this song
Thanks. Good to be here.
It's already Xmas here in Oz (Australia); good to hear the Boss 😀. Ofc it's a hell of a lot hotter haha
Merry Christmas

This is what we love about Christmas, lol to be big kids and have our own personal style of Christmas spirit
Growing up in the 80s, it was always played on Christmas eve. Just isn't right without it.
My favorite version of any Christmas song. Christmas isn’t complete unless I hear it a bunch of times
As THE Grinch, I am fed up with all the christmas music playing everywhere, but there is one song I never get tired of, and this is it. This version with the Big Man on the saxophone is absolutely wonderful! This is the only song that gives me the tiniest bit of christmas spirit, and I thank Bruce for that!
i gree all the other crhistmas music sucks!
same here buddy
Me too.
Maybe try some Aussie Xmas stuff?? We don't take ourselves too seriously...
What about Father Christmas by The Kinks?
This is the song that gets me in that christmas time mood like no other song does
Maybe it's because it's a Springsteen song, but there's something special in it..
It's just not Christmas..... until I hear this song and Darlene Love's "Christmas Baby Please Come Home!"
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT, MIKE !!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW THE FEELING. THE 1ST TIME I HEARD THIS WAS PROBABLY 15/DEC/83 WITH OUR NEW BORN BANDIT IN THE CAR AND I HAVE BEEN SINGIN' IT SINCE !!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P. BIG MAN !!!!!!!
Know what you mean: this guy could sing a can of soup🎅🎅🎅🎅!!!
It ain't Christmas time till you hear this. RIP Clarence.
If there was ever a Christmas Song that Rocks, It's this. Thanks Bruce. You nailed it.
Something about this grown man exuberantly singing "SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN!" will never cease to make me laugh. Yeah, I'm watching this in April, whatevs.
Being a Jersey Girl, it isn’t Christmas until I hear Bruce! And although it’s been ten years since The Big Man passed on, I still tear up when I hear Bruce say, “Clarence, you been, you been rehearsing real hard now? So Santa'll bring you a new saxophone?”
Favorite part of the song I mean tells Clarence you might get a new saxophone for Christmas love it Merry Christmas
Love this. He sounds like he's really in the Christmas spirit :)
I love this song, and more specifically this version. He has to ask Clarence if he’s rehearsing real hard so Santa’ll bring him a new saxophone.
For the kids of today, they will never really know the feeling of hearing a song like this in December...an knowing the excitment it brought.
@@dwade6322 it’s not like this music doesn’t still come on the radio, and a lot of people still listen to radio in the car.
@@krisrodriguez5439 true, but the Excitement factor isnt there anymore for the younger listeners..they have access to these songs at a push of a button. Popped into my head on this dreary Christmas morning. Merry Christmas 2021!
Beautiful sweet arrangement that is full of soul, what a masterpiece. Thank you Bruce.

When he starts laughing when santa is doing the Ho Ho HO thing is my favorite part. Lol
As a Jersey boy 1000 miles away from Asbury, this is a must every Christmas morning. Merry Christmas 2019 everyone!
This song was on the juke box at the little dive bar I frequented the "GFN" in So St Paul, Minnesota. I would play this sone every night I was there -even in July. i would get "who played this god dam song ?"
The GFN burned down in 2000-I figure I have saved $50,000 and a kidney by now.

Hello from 2020
I've played this every year for my kids, they now say when they hear it, it's the start of the holiday season. That warms me!
The only version I want to hear of this song!!
My mom played this song for me all the time growing up, I don't listen to Bruce Springsteen but this song HAS to play every Christmas
When I was a kid I always thought the ending of the song was weird. I always thought that Bruce was getting weirdly emotional and crying. I only now realize, that Bruce is laughing because he’s having so much fun!
Not Christmas until Bruce is playing on full blast at the family parties
I'm NOT a Springsteen fan but cannot go through the season without playing this on my own time !
