One of the memories I have is us counting how many times we heard this on the radio going there and coming back home. One time they played this song then 2 songs later they played it again. Mom's side of the family is Tex-Mex, so we knew this song well. The other song I'll always associate with Mom, and my Grandmother, is "Eres Tu". It's an underrated classic.
It's music from the Heavens. That's why! Born in the US but lived in Mexico on an exchange program for a year. Fell in love with the people, the culture, the history, the traditions and the music. This Puerto Rican classic inspired me to learn Spanish in elementary school. Been bilingual for over 40 years now.
