Thanks to this video I was able to install a new ignition coil (and plugs and spark plug wires). I used the new very expensive NGK Laser Platinum (double platinum) spark plugs, NGK coil and NGK wires from NAPA Auto. The engine idles and accelerates noticeably much much smoother than it ever had in the 3 years I've had this Dodge Caravan. Should have done this when I first got the van.
I have a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L with 140,000 miles. I was looking for a video to show where the 10mm hex nut under the steering fluid reservoir was located. It was tough to get at it. It looks like we just have to loosen it to slide off (up) the reservoir. I unscrewed it all the way not knowing I didn't have to, I almost lost it. This is the only video that shows that 10mm nut more clearly at 1:34 and I was able to complete the job in under 2 hours. It helps to use a telescoping mirror and a very bright flashlight to replace the 3 spark plugs in the back by the way. Also don't forget to use the grease that comes with the plug wires, it will prevent the wires from coming apart as NGK wires are a tight fit and I have had them come apart before from merely getting them off the spark plugs.

Mine started a bad misfire when on the gas. Started all of a sudden. Had a 55 mile drive home and it was ugly. Changed out plugs. Seemed to do the trick. Went to town and parked it. Started up and here comes the misfire. Bought wires but held off replacing them. Bought a coil the next day and just put it in with old wires. I'm assuming that when the coil is still sorta cool, there isn't any voltage leaks going on, but park it for a few minutes and it gets hot and here come the misses. Plug wires usually crack and arc all the time. So I took it for a short ride after it was warmed up, shut it down for a minute and got going again. So far it seems to be doing good. The old coil had cracks in the housing. Gotta make a trip to Wally World, and that should seal the deal if it makes it up and back ok. I'll hold off on the wires for now. Mine is an '02 with about 129k.

The reason I watched is to see how you removed the brackets on the reservoir, you skipped the hardest part

think it is a 12mm nut under the reservoir facing the firewall with an extension it can be loosened (just have to be loosened) can be seen at 1:40

Hey guys wondering if you all can help me out , I changed the spark plugs and wires on my 01 Carvana and after doing that my van has a ruff vibration at ideal or coming to a stop on red. I got a mechanic to clean out the threading where the spark plugs go and it keeps doing it maybe it’s the coils ? I also need an oxygen sensor maybe that will do the trick? If anyone has been in this situation help me out thanks !

The main reason to replace the coil is if your having intermittent misfires. The coil on the 2000-2008 caravans are in a bad spot right above the manifold. After a while, they cook themself to death. @@bryzgarage5028

This video is useless. You should show how to replace it while the power steering pump is in. Thanks for nothing.
