A long time passed for the Duo between seeing 401 and 501 Gene scenes, so they did forget that we had seen Jeff before this. They are aware now.
They also forgot Marco's ring, and forgot the phrase "It's show time" that goes with the hands gesture.
You are the first reactor who knew Carol Burnett. She is a legend .
Both Carol Burnett and Bob Odenkirk are legendary sketch comedians... in different decades.. Carol in the 70s and Bob in the 90s. When Vince and Peter found out she was a fan of BB / BCS they gave her a shoutout in the flashback dinner scene whefe Chuck tells his wife that he'll tug on his ear like Carol did to signal to her Grandmother on her show. They had dinner after that and she told them shed play any part they wrote for her just to be on the show.

Sometimes things are that big.
Gene was just working his magic to keep Jeff from talking about who he is.
Steve & Lacey, Jeff ( who has been recast ) was the cab driver ( from past season ) that tried to have Gene aka Jimmy admit he was really Saul Goodman.
If it wasn’t for the atrocious sweater that Jeff wore, I would have had a hard time connecting who he was.
The recasting worked out for the best. The original actor wasn't available so they hired someone new. But I wonder how it would have gone if the original guy was available. The Jeff we see in this episode and beyond is so different because Saul has gotten to his own mother. So he's completely off kilt after that. The new actor was more easily able to take that new approach (which also makes sense in the story)

No reaction to the amazing Carol Burnett? She deserved an Emmy, along with Rhea Seehorn. Carol didn't qualify as a "guest star" because she appeared in too many episodes... more than half the season. OK- FINALLY!!! You recognized her! Jeffie is a new actor from previous seasons due to the long layoff after COVID. Don Harvey: He played Jeff in Seasons 4 and 5 of the show. You're watching Pat Healy, who took over the role of Jeff in Season 6 because Harvey was already committed to another show. You guys are way off on the show's timeline. Jimmy first meets Walter White in 2008, and the black-and-white portion of BCS takes place in late 2010.
No we knew that this was after the events of Breaking Bad, that is why we said Jimmy is trying to "recreate" Walter White with Jeffy as a joke. Thanks for the info on Jeff as we really did not remember where we knew him from or how he was connected to Jimmy.
I think the disconnect is that they switched actors for Jeff. The previous actor was the one that recognized and menaced Gene in the mall forcing him to say Better Call Saul and hinted that he would see him again. Gene now is smacking him down for more or less threatening him. This actor is not very menacing, though.
