- Come along as I take my kids camping in an off grid cabin in Michigan's Upper Peninsula near the Delaware Mine. This cabin is solar powered with a composting toilet and a sauna.

This really is a cool cabin, I would like to go back in late Summer/Fall and really enjoy the river as well.

I once had to hike into an off grid cabin in McMillan during the winter in the middle of the night. Very peaceful up there
That is a gorgeous area, I love night snowshoeing when the snow is lightly falling (and you know where you're going lol)
Sorry to hear about your shoulder. Looks like an amazing time! I usually do Brockway and some of the shore there. It's literally my favorite place in the entire world. I need a sauna now lol

Even though I live in Maine now, My Mom and Uncle still live in the UP and I try to get back to my old cabin up by Lake Superior as often as my practice allows me to get away from here. There's no place like home!😉
There's really nothing like Lake Superior although Maine has been on my bucket list since I was a little kid.

A simple warming shelter off geid I can sleep in and enjoy the LES this Friday night

Bummer about the sauna why wouldn't the stove heat up?
It wasn't good sauna wood, and it was not dried out.

How long of a hike was it? That’s the kind of place I want to retire to. And I wouldn’t have gotten in the river either. 😂
It was a really short hike in, I would say less than a mile.
What river is that?
That's part of the Montreal River there.
