Words like up, down, stop, slowly, forwards, backwards, tie off.
    Many thanks,

Hi Kat, first comment here. I've been watching for a while and just wanted to thank you for the regular content. I've been learning Finnish pretty intently for the past 7 months and have a few tips to anyone wanting to get more automatic responses.
The first thing is you need to have is build a solid colloquial vocab foundation.
    - Find the base verbs, adverbs, adjectives and nouns of the ones that are most encountered in speech.
Next get yourself a truckload of transcripts of direct communication (People asking each other things) in different tenses. (aikamuodossa!)
    - Couple ways you can go at this point.
    1. Mantra (Read aloud each sentence 20 times every day)
    2. Try to figure out the sentence: ask yourself the question in Finnish and try to respond in Finnish (reread and repeat until you get it right)
    - The grammar is tosi monimutkainen and words change a lot in Finnish but you will notice patterns with the way the base words transform that will make it easier over time.
Finnish phonetics is pretty straight forward so you don't even really need audio after you have mastered how to pronounce words.
iTalki looks really good, ill likely give it a try when I get tired of talking to myself.
I saw you post about your dog Sidney a few weeks back, always heartbreaking to hear and worse to be there. I'm a dog groomer in Australia and you never know when the last time you will see your client is, its important to make them happy and cherish every second.

"oma aloitteinen" absolutely describes me. Se on mun vahvuutesi. I do not need any supervision, just point me to the work and I'll plow right through it like a maniac. So far, my employer has rewarded me greatly for being such a person. Mun heikkoutesi is that I do not like conference calls, don't like chatter which avoids the point of the call. I just want to get to work and get it done!
