This might be an important lesson for people who want to be nurses in FIN. And it was nice seeing Heidi again :-)

Röntgen. The first word I have ever heard which is same in german and in finnish.
That's because it's comes from the name of the discoverer of X-rays: William Röntgen. The basic unit for radiation exposure is also named for him.
We also have "auto" and "akku" (and autonakku 😉) and probably many other technical vocab because Germans were pretty much the ones who industrialized Finland back in the 19th century when we were under Swedish rule.

I have a cousin named Heidi. 😁
"Pitää olla ravinnotta" is called "NPO"--at least in American hospitals. I don't know what the acronym stands for, but I know what it is due to my last hospital stay. I was NPO when I went into the hospital. After I no longer needed to be NPO, they left me as being NPO on my chart, so I didn't eat for a while. I wasn't very happy about that.
NPO is Latin meaning "Nil per os" (nothing by mouth).
