To avoid crashes caused by hopper mines, some parts were done with sv_gravity on a very low number instead of 0. This is also why SMG grenades will sometimes be affected by gravity while everything else is not. - Ігри

don't know how relevant this is, but I recall the airboat having some special code for its physics (someone needed to fix a bug for it a while ago), so that is probably why- it may ignore the engine and live by its own rules 😎😎

@@boneheadedfellowCompassion can be tiring but so is not sleeping, i've had moments in my life i would only sleep for 3 hours maximum every day and it can fuck you up. Go to a doctor, there are sleeping meds that will absolutely change your life. Also get ear mufflers, the ones you can shove deep inside, they make a huge difference.

I know what im gonna be doing for my next hl2 stream. I did Moon gravity, then Jupiter gravity (playable until the supercharged scene kills you) so this seems like a good next step.Probably wont be able to finish it unless i dedicate 100% of my sanity to it.
Moon gravity has more gravity than you think just look at the Apollo missions and see how they move. They don’t jump that high, even jumping in saluting!

when I use sv_gravity it just changes jumping and falling, it won't affect props at all
props have their gravity set when they spawn. you have to reload the map in one way or another

@@falco_beach_boye I asume it's because he skipped the secuence where thte combine takes Alyx. I guess that the game think that Alyx still is with gordon. And because it doesn't find Alyx in the previous map, the game simply teleport her there.
I have to guess its because he skipped the scene where she's captured by the combine, so on the next chapter is spawns her in

? I think you are deeply confused
consider that even in normal Half-Life 2, you can't just aim in a vertical direction and press "forward" to fly up or down. The same is true here, only you also can't fall from gravity, which is so heavily built into the game as a showcase for the Source engine that an early scene depends on an object falling a short distance from a wall to the floor, and the game stops dead in its tracks until you convince it that it's happened and you've noticed it.
