A UK First? Mike G1KOT Aeronautical Mobile

With UK radio amateurs now being allowed to operate airborne (low power, selected bands), Mike G1KOT took to the air on the 3rd of March 2024 in what we believe to be the first UK use of this new 2024 licence privilege from an aircraft. This short video shows the activation over the county of Essex.

Fantastic video! I'm very new to this amateur radio stuff - currently on Essex Ham class 156 - thoroughly enjoying this very professional course and learning a lot from Pete's videos. I've read about using a kite to hoist an antenna - is this classed as airborne operation in the UK?
