If Im not mistaken being that I went through this Alliance Raid, Teta was not present here as we both know she died earlier. This is where Delita and the rest met their end and were "released" by the winners of this raid
So in this world the tactics crew gave their lives but could only seal Ultima Away. And the WoL and the raid finish her off for.good. that ending with Ramza and Delita tho. I cried
This is the ending that lots of us wished for, but to stay cannon and true to the story this is only like my partner says a “love letter” to us fans who though Ramza deserved better.
It always saddened me that Ramza barely smiles in FFT. Granted, he has to go through so much tragedies and loses that it makes sense, but it makes me happy that now we can see him smile and be happy for once, even if it is in death (or non-canon material).
I only just did the Ivalice raid chain to get my first ShB relic weapons, but my god, I got emotional when I saw this. Yeah, I know it's apparently not canonical, but a part of my brain just likes to ignore that bit and feels like we're picking up where Arazlam left off after he signed off at the end of Tactics. Seeing the cast at the end to the music of FFT struck such an emotional chord with me. Canon or not, this was a great tribute regardless. I loved every second of it. Except that wine fetch quest.
@SaigaTenshi, in FFT, everyone is important. It's a meta plot point, and meta political commentary given the motives of all of the characters. There are no villains in FFT, only terrible decisions for good causes.
Hi Alessio, it's indeed a form of closure from the original writer. Not to mention FFXIV dev team is full of FFXII dev team so they are using it as a springboard to bring interesting revelations. For example the male Viera lore of FFXIV also applies to FFXII etc.
Including Alicia, Lavian and Rad was incredible to me. It took a wonderful scene, and made it all the better simply because it showed how much the people who made this storyline cared. I've never used them, but I never kicked them either. Those three are so forgettable, as they're generic units that arrive too late to be of use. But they, and Boko, are still a part of Ramzas team. To remember them, and to make them recognizable as them... and to include Mustadio, Agrias and Orlandu, the three most used special characters as the boss fights, and to have them help you in the final battle... the Ivalice storyline was everything I'd hoped it'd be and more. Final Fantasy Tactics is my favorite game of all time, so this meant the world to me. And I know it's not the same world as the actual FFT, but I'd still like to believe that Delita felt the way about Ramza that he does in these scenes. Delita could be cold and calculating, but the Delita of FF14 is clearly a good man, and any misdeeds were simply doing what had to be done. He believed in justice and believed in Ramza. Words fail me. But if all the money I've ever paid in subscriptions were only good for this one storyline... it'd be worth it.
same here. but i like the ending better if delita is remembered as a hero king in history. i just wish they would make sequel that would unravel history with "Durai Paper" as its centerpiece. if the first fft is holy blood holy grail in a nutshell, i always imagined the sequel as a revolution to topple the monarchy in ivalice and dethroned delita dynasties.
I don't play 14 anymore, but seeing a happy ending for Ramza and Delita was quite nice. I still prefer the Tactics ending, but that was really neat to see everyone one last time and have a happy twist for Delita and Ramza.
Y'know, I actually hated the story of FFT. But seeing the cast at the end, recognizing each one and how they represented the countless hours I spent fooling around and collecting/unlocking those chars (OMG, dat chocobo and dat robot HRRRNNGGG) still hit me with a boatload of feels. And the more I look at it, FFT's story is surprisingly more palatable when incorporated into the greater history of Hydaelyn. Seeing Ivalice's legacy live on in this raid was just awesome. Period.
WOW!!! Loved FFT since I was a kid (20 years ago) and only today I'm seeing for the first time ever, Ramza and Delita meeting up long after their deaths! And Delita is apologizing to Ramza too for what history did to him! (isn't that a little hypocrtical coming from Delita, though? I mean, he was the King after Ramza disappeared... If he wanted to, he could have said the truth or, at the very least, he could have tried to restore, even partially, Ramza's name)
