Jeep seriously needs to cut prices. Alot of my friends would buy a Jeep but the cost stops them from going past just looking at them.

I just got my 1st Jeep Wrangler this week, a 2024 Rubicon 4xe. The dealership was able to offer a better deal on this year's model than last year's. I got about 18K off the sticker price.
And how much was that?
18k!? Tell me your secrets. I’ve been back and forth with the dealership for two weeks now on a jeep that’s been sitting there since February 9th. Lowest I’ve gotten them to is 9k under.

@dnrexy I think it was just good timing for me. There were a bunch of instant rebates for electric vehicles when I went shopping. I was really close to getting a 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe due to those rebates + needing to clear the lot of older models. When I saw that, I immediately looked for a 2023 Wrangler 4xe in "my" color thinking they'd have a similar deal. Since Wrangler's are special, they weren't running the same discounts. I just got really lucky the deals were on a 2024. If you haven’t already, run Car Finder. That way you at least have some number to fight with

Here's my story. I've been searching for months to buy a 3rd vehicle for the house. I really wanted to do a second gladiator even though I already own a fully loaded rubicon gladiator and rubicon wrangler. I was seriously shopping the gladiator against the 4runner, tacoma, ford bronco and finally the Chevy colorado. I ended up springing for the Colorado ZR2 Bison which is a colorado built by AEV. For $62k I could get a vehicle with steel bumpers, bead lock rims, 4.5" lift, 35" tires, etc etc etc all with a warranty. There is nothing that compares to that trim level of Colorado. It has cameras all around including underneath, larger screen size (probably comparable to the 24 Jeep screen), locking diffs, etc etc. It even has blind spot monitoring, cross lane detection, adaptive cruise control, backup sensors, etc. All the stuff anyone would want for the urban environment. Jeep can't match that price. They're not even close. I have an appointment that I'm waiting on for them to install the winch and snorkel and for $66k total I have a full decked out offroad vehicle with everything. Believe it or not, my '23 Gladiator cost more last year than the Colorado Bison did this year. So Jeep needs to up their game on the pricing. I still believe in and support Jeep and I absolutely love the brand but I am never going to be a wagoneer owner or some little putt putt Italian jeep owner. I want a wrangler or a gladiator but it has to be my way and goodness sakes if anyone from Jeep is watching stop with the special colors only available for a month shtick.
$73k for a Gladiator is insane. Thats near TRX money
If I'm spending 73k or more for a truck, it'll be something like the High Output 6.7 Powerstroke, not a quarter ton truck.
My 22 Gladiator thankfully is a lease and i cant wait to get rid of it. 1st check engine light came on around 800 miles for multiple misfires. That continued to happen for several months off and on. At 17k miles the ridiculous start/stop left me stranded at a stoplight . It had to have a new fuse block/harness, It took 8 weeks to get it
back from the shop. Im at 27k miles and i just noticed all of the paint bubbling on the edge of the hood. My Gladiator was overpriced and low quality, it is my 1st and last jeep.
I had Jeeps for 20 years. Last year I ordered a 24 Willys two door manual and after 20 weeks at confirmed I moved on and bought a 23 Defender 90. I have no regrets canceling the Jeep order and doubt I’ll ever go back the way they are going with the electric models.
Its also nice not driving a me too car, in 9 months I’ve only ever seen four other Defender 90’s on the road and I no longer have people leaving stupid ducks on my car.
I think people are tired of rising prices to crazy amounts that no one can afford . And they choose to do what i did and rebuild the jeep they had . I had jeep drop a new crate engine in my jeep and did trand , front and rear diffs and all suspension parts front and rear.. in total i have $12,000 in it and the body is perfect and rust free , so basically i got a brand new jeep with no payments.. so $12,000 vs. $70,000 its a no brainer…
Like everyone here is saying… the prices are just too high for a Jeep!
4xEs are taking over dealer lots! Especially here in New England. And for only 25ish miles on a charge, it doesn’t seem worth the $55k-60k price tag! And It’s not easy to find a non hybrid Jeep Wrangler around here either. And they’re still over priced.
As far as gladiators. A cool idea sure, but for the price… I don’t think so. I see some discounted ones up here. But honestly, the discount price, should be the MSRP!!!
Bottom line: Jeep priced themselves out of the market. Now they're paying the price.

My wife has a Wrangler 4xe. At best, it’s gets about 26 miles on full electric. What a joke. That equals to about 1.5 gallons of gas. Not worth all the extra complexity and weight for that! Give me a larger fuel tank all day over the electrified crap!

Jeep prices have gotten ridiculous. When you’re getting into the $70k+ range it opens up a much larger market of “off road” vehicles that you can get for that money (grenadier, lexus gx, Land Rover defender not to mention the bronco or Toyota refreshes). All that being said I bought a 23 gladiator recently for the huge discounts and love it

Yeah, prices in Canada have put on sale for June of a $4000 saving, big whoop! A Wrangler RUBICON X in Canada (Which I Want) is $86K CDN, then $4K off… $82K CDN for a square box basically. I don’t think so! Prices need to start dropping drastically!
Ya, 5% off is insulting. 20% is more realistic.
I’m still seeing dealers charging over msrp in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, only a few but how dumb can you be.
Just my take -- probably because I'm 6'6" tall and 270 pounds -- but I'm probably going to be buried in my 2019 JLU Rubicon 2.0 Etorque, which now has 50k trouble-free (knock on wood) miles on it.
I paid $43,000 for it in June of '20, and it came with 35" KO2s, the beefed up tire-carrier, MOPAR lift, and other dealer-installed goodies. It since has been regeared to 4.88, been fitted with KM3 37s, and has a Rhino Pioneer platform, WARN winch, and it's been all over Colorado and Utah. Still gets 21 mpg on the highway cruising at 65 (It's a Jeep, not a 'Vette).
To pay almost twice that for the current models (which have even smaller interior cabin space owing to reconfigured soundbar, taller seats and curtain airbags) seems absolutely nuts to me. Clearly I'm not Stellantis' ideal customer, notwithstanding that Dutch people are among the tallest in the world, on average. Why they keep making Jeep interiors smaller and more cramped is anybody's guess. And the prices are giggle-worthy: Europeans (prolly because of crazy luxury taxes and import duties) regard Jeeps as "luxury vehicles" for the crazy rich, and that's reflected in the stupid pricing.
A "readjusted" attitude (and pricing structure) is way overdue.
Heck yeah! I went Jeeping in Ocala National Forest in my TJ!! Loved it!! Can't wait to do it again!

You are right on all of this. After owning seven jeeps, four of them wrangler's(CJ,TJ,JK,JL), while I really like my 2023 4xe. It might be my last Jeep, my brand loyalty has been cracked slightly.
I live in Toronto and used to have a 24 jeep wrangler. Let me tell you what is happening in Canada right now. Since the end of last year, I know at least 6 people who have had their jeep/ram stolen, including mine. In less than 5 minutes, the vehicle could been driven away without a key.
Jeep only knows how to raise prices but is unwilling to do anything to upgrade the theft prevention system. All of these users who lost their cars were forced to turn to other brands. GOOD JOB, JEEP!!!!
I just bought my first jeep (4xe Willys). First dealership wouldn't budge on the price. The 2nd dealership gave me a decent deal. I'm happy!

I'm currently looking in the 20 year old used market. Started browsing a year ago to get an idea where my budget would get me. Finally ready and I've noticed I can up to 5 years newer for the price than just a few months ago. The market is falling hard. That also played a part in me selling my previous toy to fund this one. Took a lot longer to unload than I thought it would
Hey guys! I ordered a 2Dr Rubicon Xtreme 35” package (22Y) and received it 3 weeks ago! Great SWB Jeep with all the bells-n-whistles.
This is my first Jeep, it's in service already even tho I got with 12 miles on it. If you are charging these prices, your quality best meet that price point first.
No one should feel bad for them. The poor sales are a direct result of their greed and pricing tactics.

Just took delivery of my ordered Tuscadero Pink Willys. 35” tire package NOT available however it looks fantastic with 33”s. Jeep offered $4000 factory discount (on Willy’s 4 door) and $2500 from the dealer. So my loaded (every option) Willy’s was $49,999 +ttl. I’m happy 😃
That screen shot is from Reed Jeep. My experience was in the KC area, but I don't know if they're in other markets. I went there when I was trying to buy a Gladiator and there was a lot of fine print. You had to have a 2017 or newer Jeep to trade in with less than 75k miles, had to be active duty or a veteran, had to live in certain zip codes, had to finance a certain amount, etc. I went to several dealers in the area and their advertisements were all a similar scam. One said you had to have a specific year Prius to trade in. I also have Reed ads for 25k off of a new 4xe in my FB feed.
Basically the exact Jeep from 2024 compared to a 2020 model has a 9k MSRP difference. They got greedy.
Sir it’s across the board for almost the entire car market. I visited a few dealers recently and the only one that actually had customers buying; was Mazda. So I went in and found out they had 0% for five years or 3.9 financing for 72 months. Also no mark ups and courtesy window tinting plus they were not forcing people to buy protection packages. The CX 50 and C5 was the model selling the most; I mean even the basic model included AWD with LED lights and on the inside soft touch material and the interior space was good; very utilitarian vehicle overall and well priced. This dealership is new in our town and I got to say; I have seen an increase of Mazda’s on the road.

Thanks for acknowledging the ridiculousness of Jeep pricing. They better wise up. My Rubicon X cost way too much (but I still love it, just not sure it's worth the price). Now you can get a Lexus GX for less (in some cases), a Toyota Land Cruiser for less, and a 4Runner for less, etc. Compared to the higher end Jeeps...not good and will not be good for sales in the long term.

Prices are huge & jeep.....needs to take the 1st step - so rest of car dealers/vendors do it....I honestly more I look n watch reviews think I'm going to go with a Gladiator Mojave ...towing, need for some "truck bed space" plus ...factory is a solid mid size vehicle that's very capable.
I love the 4 door wranglers...but think I need the bed plus tow...and mostly will be normal road driving...which fox shocks n all it's set for, along with if off road needed it can...I'm not looking to rock crawl at this time.

People,would buy the cheap version, and as they grew older (aka got a better job and had more money) would be repeat customers with higher trims and more $.
I was configuring a 2 door rubicon on their website and it’s $55-60+ K. That’s is absolutely insane
Local dealerships here in the Phoenix market are discounting Gladiators for anywhere between $10k to $16k. Some dealers have brand new 2023’s still on the lot.
Wife had been wanting an Earl Wrangler 4xe since probably Spring 2023, but the prices of jeeps have just gone up wayy to much over the years. For example, my brother picked up a Sahara Unlimited ~2017 for like 35k he said (New too). That same vehicle is like 60k now. Well, we bided our time and back in April of this year the deals kept piling up and we pulled the trigger. Got ~12k off in total: -3750 EV credit, -1000 TDM credit, -3000 Jeep cash, -750 dealer discount, and finally -3500 F&F incentive. Took us until all these discounts to be able to afford it.
I just picked up a 2 dr Rubicon X w/ 35" Xtreme Recon package yesterday...
It was the first one that popped up in inventory in my state (I was stalking the national website). Jeep's website actually still said it was "in transit", but it was delivered (saw this with several others in my region). The dealer had another one as well, but I think it just sold since it's removed from both their dealership website as well as Jeep's.
I got a 2023 heavily discounted then changed my mind and got the 2024 with more equipment. I can’t wait to know how the gladiator sales will end up like

Great vid. Matt. I appreciate the authenticity of questioning a $80000 gladiator (after tax/titl/reg fees) with some spruced up paint. We can still love our Jeeps, but point out some of the faults. Stellantis has to understand that I’m not drinking the Kool-Aid.

Was looking yesterday at JT Gladiators; can get a Gladiator Rubicon or Mojave X package for $8,000 at nearly all our local dealers here in Missouri which was bringing most of them under $60k. I'm sure better deals are had if you look more

But the Detroit auto show was moved back to January 2025. Jeep is acting very odd lately. They need to cut 5 to 10k on every trim. Their prices are insane! As always. Love your videos. In Germany the JL was around 50.000 to 60.000€. Now it's 70.000 to 85.000€. It's just crazy.

I do think msrp is high but I also think customers demanding all the modern luxuries and safety features in a jeep is driving the prices up.
I have not known anybody to ask for luxury or safety in a Jeep. I can do without the big touchscreen and it telling me to stay in my lane.
@@estebanlopez5016 I’m the same way. But that’s not the norm. As a jeep shop owner I can tell you people want more electronics and higher end interiors and all the trick whoha that comes in a 6 figure Mercedes. All those options come at a cost.
prices are ridiculous. all they do is come out with all of these "editions" and packages to just give an excuse to jack the price up even higher.

I got my 24 JTR for 48k so I think some dealers are realizing they need sales for the sales, only reason I bought it cause it was MSRP 65k
The Extreme Recon package isn’t available on Jeeps build and price for a 2-door Willys …… would think really hard about ordering if they threw a nice discount at it when made available
I can say that I we'll be holding on to our two Jeep Wranglers. My wife has a 2012 Unlimited Sahara in Gecko Green and I have a 2018 Unlimited Sahara JL in Firecracker Red.
Both were purchased new off the dealer lot and have color match hard tops and fenders. Knowing what I know now, I would have bought a Rubicon for the lockers and transfer case, but realistically these Sahara's have been more than capable for the level of offloading I do, which is not to say just super easy, but I don't rock crawl either. With WFH during the last few years, I've only got 32K miles on mine. I suspect there are a lot of us out there with low miles for the same reason, which is one of the factors behind the new car market challenges. I looked at swapping out to a new Diesel Wrangler Rubicon or a new Gladiator during the pandemic and all the dealers in my area were pricing above MSRP which I have not ever been willing to pay.

I love Jeeps for what they are but for an unreliable poorly made vehicle the prices are insane. I was going to replace my 2015 wrangler with a gladiator but now moving to Toyota this time around.

Increased prices, low quality, no wonder sales are tanking. My 2020 rubicon needs repainted now because of the hinge bubble. 4 years old, wow.
I bought my 2018 JL for a touch over $30k exactly 5 years ago and my 2023 Rubicon Gladiator for $41k three months ago. $71,000 to have 2 Jeeps in my driveway. I’m good for the time being. But many do not have the perfect timing that I’ve had in purchasing my vehicles. Even the salesperson who sold me it said she was upside down, buried in debt in her 2022 Wrangler. I have about $2k in upgrades and accessories, 35’s and a heck of a lot of fun. But at these prices these last few years… No way am I going to get a new one… unless I see a 2-door Tuscadero XR, with 4.88s. I’d sell 1, or both, in a heartbeat to buy one of those.
There’s two things keeping me from considering a used or new JL. Price (new) and corrosion (New and Used). I’m seeing resale on JLs are fairly reasonable but I suspect the corrosion has a lot to do with it. I would understand corrosion on a 10-15 year old Jeep but it’s popping up in 12-18 months on some cases.
I want a really good deal on a 2024 jeep wrangler, Rubicon two-door X with a 35 inch wheel and tire package so hopefully this should help

As of right now (July 27, 2024) you can go on the jeep website and build a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X and the XR isn’t even an option on the listing, neither is the automatic transmission version. It only offers manual transmission. Unsure if this is an error on Jeep’s part, but I found that odd. The 315 tire ratio isn’t an option it seems and it shows on the mock up model that it’s the 285 tire version. So I’m guessing maybe this is because you can’t order anymore 2024s, but if you go to the “current inventory” around the nation, they show it with the XR package. So I dunno
Can you verify that the Hurricane eng doesn't have dip sticks for oil or transmission oil?
In Canada you cannot order a 2024 rubicon wrangler 4 door extreme recon in any trim or configuration.
I think for the gladiator if they dropped prices and offered the xtreme recon 35 package they would sell like hotcakes especially since you can basically get a just as capable zr2 or at4x with 35s for cheaper

I would buy an XR Gladiator.
They have so many quality issues I just started shopping for one and they have bubbled paint everywhere just 2 years old. Insane. I really want a wrangler but I think I’m going to stick with my Toyota a little longer.

Recently test drove a 24’ grand Cherokee 4xe. 60k and it didn’t feel premium and the seat recliner control unit had a huge gap in between the seat and the unit. Poor quality for luxury money. I could get an Acura MDX for 10k less
The 392 would be their top seller IF they dropped the price to a mid 50k “sport” type base option 60k for higher trims

I bought a leftover 2023 Rubicon Gladiator that was heavily discounted. As long as you can buy a 2023 like that, there is little reason to get a 2024. Unless you just gotta have the new screen and tiny grill... nah.
What sucks is when they want to low ball you when you try and sell a jeep back to the dealership at one point they where happy to take them back.

It's only a good deal if you're trading a paid off vehicle or paying cash and need a new car, truck! Trade values are in the schitter for now.
I have a 2020 JLU Sport. I honestly love it but will never buy another one. My paint is bubbling around all of the hinges and the hood. I’ve had a warranty claim in since November 2023. The hood and drivers door are on back order with no eta. The dealership told me it might be another year. I was considering a 2024 till this issue popped up. Stellantis is well aware of this epidemic with the paint but simply refuses to openly admit it. Looks like a new Bronco is next.
Honestly... after owning two JKs, I probably wont buy a JL. I'd buy a JKU for carseats, but it'd take a LOT for me to be buying a JLU. If I buy another Jeep, it'll be a TJ or an LJ. Prices are insane for what you get. If I'm going to be spenidng $70,000 or more on a truck, it'll be a one ton.

Jeeps here in Australia are so expensive….. and simply not worth it. Id love the jeep overland (Sararh there)…. But 95k its a no.
18k discounts definitely just for advertising to lure you coming to their dealership. Obviously you didn’t see the extremes fine prints 😂 people who tell you they bought for 18k discounts surely trying to convince themselves they got a deal 😅
I haven’t seen $18k off msrp in person but I have seen $16k and bought at $15k under.
How about engine choices. Make the Hurricane available for both the Wrangler, and the Gladiator. How about buying the 3-liter 6 diesel and the 10-speed Allison from GM, and make them available for Wranglers, and Gladiators. Jeeps used GM running gear in the past. I also think that the prices are too high. I don't think that Stellantis' management has a clue about the Jeep Pathos in North America, or the loyal Jeep people that have kept Jeep alive thru a litany of ownership since WW2.
Would have already ordered a 2-door, Xtreme Rubicon, except for the fact that it is only available with the 2.0L Turbo 4 cylinder engine. If and when it is available with the 3.6L, V6, I will order one.
Ironically I’m wanting to order a 4 door XR but they are only allowing 3.6 orders right now and I want a 2.0 😂
I bought a 23 rubicon wrangler with the 2.0 and traded it within 6 months. Liked the pep of the engine but hated the way it sounded (imagine a weed wacker on wheels). Now have 23 rubicon gladiator with 3.6. It doesn’t have as much pep off the line but I’m not felt myself wanting or needing anymore power in any situation…yet.
Smart man…I love my 3.6! Smooth and reliable…cheap to repair/replace after many years down the road.
I’ve owned both and greatly prefer driving the 2.0. I rarely hear it but I do agree that it’s not the best sounding engine lol.
We purchased a Rubicon Gladiator last year for +$13k under sticker. When we went to trade my Forester for a Wrangler we just couldn’t… The fit and finish actually functional features and value etc etc as just a hard sell, we opted for a Subaru Ascent and will focus build the Gladiator. Jeeps are almost priced right(finally) but it’s too little too late. And the upgrades for 2024 just weren’t enough to stay competitive. The fabric on the dash is just a huge turn off, why in the world would you install a fabric dash on a vehicle made to get dirty… Also it’s not cohesive or function it’s just a bad attempt to compete with Broncos and it doesn’t flow at all.
