I have a 2 door Willys in Earl., but it's a 2023. I am slowly getting all the mods done, that now come in the recon package. It is my favorite Wrangler that I have owned. Love this channel! Interesting content for someone who knows very little about Jeeps.
Yeah, it's still insanely expensive but I might buy one at the end of the year if they have any deals on them. I'm worried this will be the last year to get a Wrangler before they do something dumb to them like move to an electric motor etc.
@@DUNEATV nice! Enjoy it. I'm saving up to pay cash by the end of the year. Going to live like a poor person until I can get as close as possible and try to haggle the best deal I can
@@waynebrucemanbat5787 I did the opposite… my local dealer had the color combination I wanted so I bought it and then now I am throwing every dime I could make in overtime and even selling a few things putting all my money towards it. Already have it down $6000 in three months!
I thought long and hard between Willys and Rubicon. There is a lot of value in the Willys for sure, but I wanted some options that came standard on Rubi so I went that route. I think Jeep did a good job giving more to Willys this year so it will fit the bill for a lot of people that don't quite want a Rubi.
I figured it was yours when you said, “I ordered” when you were talking about the cold weather option. Great video. Love your content, I am a big fan going back to CJ Pony days.
I love the Willys also. I have my 2024 Willys and already started some upgrades. The Bronze stitching on the interior looks great. Thanks for the comparison you guys are fun to watch and I love the partners that you have Lindsey is Awesome!
Thanks for the great head to head comparo, something that a lot of us do when looking at vehicles on the lot. Easy to get lost in all of the differences in packages and trims. Nice to have it clearly spelled out while standing in front of two popular trims. Bonus, now you can get the 35 Recon in a 2 door, Willys & Rubicon!
I've ordered a 2024 2 door Willys with a manual transmission in high vilocity yellow.. Choose it because it has everything I want and need. I speced it with the convenience package which adds the heated seats Ext as well as the proximity locks. Now to wait the few months riding the motorcycle in the Pacific northwest (currently the EV is broken and in the shop again. Back to a jeep I go) for it to come in. Can't wait. Thanks for the video
Hi. Great choice! How long did it take from ordering it to finally getting it? looking to get something similar but in green or the Anvil color. Thanks in advance and congrats!!!👍
Hi. How long did it take from the time you ordered it to the time you got it? I'm looking for the same setup but with either green or anvil color. Thanks in advance and congrats! 👍
I built a Rubicon with the Manual transmission in Granite Crystal Metallic... Hopefully I'll get it in a month or so... This is My first Jeep... I'm so looking forward to seeing mine!!!
Got my 21 Rubicon fully loaded for 57k ,24 base model Rubicon 49k then you add the upgrades, man seems to me jeep is pricing itself right out of the market in my opinion ,love the video guys 👍
If you are going to do some actual off roading, get the Rubicon. It has front locker also with swaybar disconnect which is huge to get the front wheels on the ground.
These are two great looking jeeps not to mention the viewers rig is gorgeous!! So you can option the rubicon/mojave fenders on lesser trims or just the Willie’s with the extreme recon?? The Willy’s would be the perfect spec if you weren’t going to modify your jeep!?! As always guys, keep up the incredible work!! 👍
This is a hard one, Matt. I think if I were going to lease a vehicle and turn it back in in a few years, I'd go with the Willys. But if my intention were to keep the vehicle for a very long time, say over 5 years, I would go with the Rubicon.
Let’s be honest, most don’t care for a 392 cause most of us can’t caught out 100k for one.. lol. So why bother even looking? It’s like looking at a Ferrari, oh that’s cool… but never gonna be able to afford one so why even bother? More of a status symbol anyways, you don’t really need all the extra crap at the end of the day.
It’s also the fact you could get the higher quality bronco raptor for $100,000. I ain’t spending $100,000 on just a v8 wrangler let alone a….. JEEP! Wrangler
Just found your channel and subscribed. Terrific explanation, hitting all the right points! Thank you! I have a request for a recommendation ---- Will retire and travel the USA going to parks, forest service roads, car camping and hiking for a week or two at a time. Don't want rock crawl or "taking the hill" or sketchy roads (ie Rubicon level) but want to be READY for that challenging forest service road if I come across it. Much paved road and highway travel and daily driver when home. What is the best Jeep (and Bronco - yikes!) you'd recommend I look into and why?
PS: I liked better rather than worse mileage, and yes I know about 4xe and how it varies greatly in actual mpg .... also have heard the "discomfort and noise" or much paved road travel. Your thoughts?
There's one thing you didn't mention, the cheapest drivetrain option is the 3.6 and a manual. You can't option any other engine with a manual for the guys that's important to
Would installing lights on the side above the bumper where the fake vent is void the warranty ? I ordered lights that are turn signals and also turn on when the doors open
Good video, I like to see news about Jeep and off road cara and trucks. I have noticed that cars price are increasing for a while, does anyone knows the real reason for it? (Maybe an idea for the next videos). Keep up those videos coming they are good.
Are they equipped with the full float rear axles? If not, what jeep are they on. The full fliat rear should be on EVERY jeep. That Willys one is sweet!
I have a question about your last Rubicon. Is it normal that on startup, the 4cyl turbo sounds like a diesel? I recently traded a 13 jku 3.6 for an 18 Sahara with the 4cyl. The Sahara sounds like the valve are floating right out of the heads😂. I really love this Jeep otherwise.
The base comes with a 3.6 liter and a 6 speed manual. The 2.0l makes you do the automatic. And then the 2.0l auto is the cheapest and the 3.6l costs more with the automatic
Great video. For me, the Rubicon X is the way to go for the power seats alone (I’m 6’5” and need the flexibility they provide). Saying that, the updated Willys is probably the perfect Jeep for most people.
It is light gray and it is fabric. I know cause I own one. It is going to get dirty and will be difficult to keep clean. Love the heather seats with the gold stitching, kinda makes up for the dash!
Thank you for featuring my 392!!!
Those badges and taillight inserts are awesome looking. Did you paint those yourself or buy them somewhere?

Picked up my 24 Rubicon 2 weeks ago it was expensive but waited 22 years. I am very happy with it.
Something also cool for the 24 Willy’s is it now has the wide track axles. So same track width as a rubicon.

Wish that Willy’s was color matched
Love the extreme package but hate in the Willys you have to get the 2.0L turbo. If you had the 6 as the option it would be my choice.
2.0 is the better engine. More TQ, roughly same Hp, better fuel economy and so much faster
@@searles400 working in a garage the last couple years has given me a new look on turbos. They don’t last.
Crazy on the prices. My base Rubi was $39k.
What size are the wheels on the Rubi?
Which one would you recommend. A Willy’s Xtreme recon 2.0, Willy’s Xtreme recon 3.6 or Willy’s 4XE and get 35’s?
The 2.0 will sit higher and get better gas mileage. Plus, it's fast on take offs.

Only 55k 🤣🤣🤣🤣 thats why they keep these prices like this. This bozo thinks 55k for a willys recon is a good deal SMH
No longer the affordable really. But, maybe the used market looks better. Gladiators are a bit more affordable at the moment.

Why is it a $4500 upgrade for an automatic Jeep site for a 2024?!?! I'm so sick of seeing "Wrangler starting at $31k" Such bs...
The vented non vented hood?
Proximity makes it easy to steal.
Okay guys, you bought a 392, now heard you just ordered the yellow Rubicon...whats up?
We ordered the yellow one back in July but pulled the trigger on the 392 instead.

Why? You don’t want all the extra stuff the Rubicon comes with?
No Sir, it has to do with my past life as a Soldier.
