Respectfully disagree that the black fenders are one of the worst things and dorky. I don't like the paint matched fenders. This is what makes Jeep special, we can all customize them to our liking.
Dorky SPORT fenders, I don’t think black rubicon fenders are bad, but the sports lose so much clearance, only have halogen lights, and just had to go!
I just happen to like the contrast and look of the black fenders and trim on my Rubicon.
The paint matched rubicon fenders are better, you’re fooling yourself 😂
Looks Awesome Ryan!!
I feel Jeep should offer the option to color mix. Or at least option black painted fenders if black is the look you want but give you a way to delete the plastic look.
I have a lot of stuff from distinction applied on my Rubicon. Also they do great work, but I think the black hood latches and black vents looked better or at least the “mesh” portion of the vent should be black. Sometimes less is more man.
Appreciate the opinion
the painted fender flares do not match .. they are close , but look lighter
They do match, Ryan’s jeep is filthy.
@@DIRTROADCRED could you wash it and show it again ?
I like my flat black fenders on my Rubicon. Cheaper to keep them black when they get wrecked from off-roading damage and or regular driving on the road if an accident happens. That is what makes owning a Jeep you do what you want to it and who cares right? 🙂
These are black sport fenders, just about worthless
Paint matched fenders for the win.
Thanks for featuring my Jeep guys!! Love the channel and all that you do!
I really like the color match fenders and gold accents! It is looking pretty good!
Thanks!
Push an 8mm socket on back side of clip and it comes out without damage
Good tip!!!
You should name Ryan’s Jeep, “Goldmember“. I love goooooolld!!
😂
I think you should seriously consider doing a matching golden eagle decal on the hood.
now all you need is the hard case spare tire cover paint matched and you will have the poor mans Gwagon. The hi lines are great- better in black though
I love the look of the black flares and roof on my Rubicon, the tree limbs on the tight wooded trails don't wreck them like the painted ones either, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but black for me.
For the fender flair clips I use needle nose pliers to compress the tabs for easy and quick removal most if not all from memory should be accessible from the back.
The rears are not accessible for some of them
I’m a black fender person. I live in miami and had a 91 golf with black fenders. I’d use “back to black” and fenders would look brand new. Great content like always.
Thanks for watching!
The black plastic fenders are best. Look the best and don't get scratched off road.
Black plastic Sport fenders are the best?
On the side vent, being that it is a two-piece part, I think you should use the gold on the perimeter and keep black in the middle.
Be careful, sometimes less is more.
Def in the camp of black fender flares but love the content for the channel!
I’ve been fender less for since winter on my JL 392. Yesterday I had to much coffee drilled 68 new holes and used 68 zip ties later my OE fenders are back on and more sturdy then they were even from the factory !! Haha
i have an Ocean Blue JLU sport that came with black fenders. I bought black OEM High Line Rubicon Fenders on Facebook market place and had them paint matched. They look amazing but you can see the guts from my engine. No one i know has ever done this so when I ask about inner fender liners they can't give me an answer as to which ones would fit. So I'm excited to see the part 2 to this video. Nice Jeep Ryan!
Learned it is easier to change fender vents when the fender is off. Broke/seperated mine when removed for fender vinyl install. Thanks for the vid! Keep em coming!
Good to know!
Aloha Matt. This was a painstaking process, but your patience and strategy paid off. The body fender flares look great and terrific. The new look gives the Wrangler a wonderful look. Nice work by you Ryan.
I highly recommend the American Adventure Labs Fender Retention solution to replace those white clips. Use a real Rivet Nut tool to install the Rivnuts though. I learned that the hard way.
Hell no. The black flares and black tops are classic.
Respect your opinion
Classic or not, paint matched looks much better. Black plastic fenders and tops make the Jeep look cheap IMO. The Bronco Raptor really highlights that.
Absolutely love the color scheme. I wish mine had been available in the Anvil color.
😂😂 Thinks to self: "shoulda cut off tabs before mounting." Love when I do things outta order.
Looks so good with the fender chop! I never noticed the rear fender classic WRANGLER decal. Noice!
Yes! Thank you!
I just got the bushwaker flares. I personally don’t care about getting painted fender flares since mine is black, and I already have a bunch of pinch stripes. If I did not have a black jeep. I would definitely go for something like that.
Change the aux battery when you rip the fenders. You can access from below
Good idea!
You can pull those clips off on the backside with some needle nose, pliers, pretty simple other than the one towards the bottom you gotta break it off.
Great tip!
Never thought about changing the fender vent but the gold looks sick matched with the other details. This is inspiring me to do something but I'm not sure what - I have a black high altitude so everything is just black already 😂 would love your suggestions for good wheel/tire combos for it though. I've been considering the new wildpeak at4s to keep some of the good driving character
Black is an outstanding look if you are willing to put in the work to keep it clean. Did you change out the chrome lug nuts and the antenna? Putting black covers over the chrome keyholes helps complete the total black look.
Good job guys!
Thank you for always putting out fun, interesting, and family friendly content. I really do appreciate your guys channel, it’s always fun, and my 5yr old loves watching too. I really like that anvil color, I like the matched fenders, I’ve never loved chopped fenders, but the color match makes up for it to me 😉 it’s a great looking jeep Ryan, thank you for sharing
Liked the black side accent piece better.
Too much accents color does exist.
Everyone has an opinion, it’s a good thing there are lots of options!
Those fender flares look SICK!
Looks great Ryan! Making it your own and a stand out from the rest! Thats what its all about!
Absolutely!
I'm planning to do the distinction applied parts, but actually go with matte black just because i like the contrast on my earl, but eliminates the fade of the plastic.
Do it!
I love this fender chop and the color match… those fender vents are a 2 piece, what about putting the black back in the center and leave the gold outer?? Or visa versa??
As always guy and other incredible video and some more food for thought!!🤙
I have a Willys and Rubicon and actually like the contrast with the black top and black fender flairs. Btw, we recently added the same wheels and rims on Ryan's jeep to our Willys with a 3.5" lift and love the look.
Not a big fan of color matching, I prefer the contrast. To each their own.
I like keeping it to just a couple colors. Looks good.
Paul nice 2 door! Like the fenders looks good Ryan- I think it will look nice with inner fenders
Thanks 👍
Thanks!
I love this channel. I have bought 2 jeeps in the passed year because of it and it has been a channel I look forward to seeing. I personally like the look of the black stock fenders as long as you treat them with black magic it stays black. Also it hides rock chips better.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
If the side vents are two piece I wonder if you could keep the gold frame but put the black grill in?? Could be cool
Ryan's Jeep looks fantastic!! Distinction applied never fails! Brian is amazing!
Thanks for sharing‼️
I really appreciate the video on how to replace the all of this parts, it takes a lot of the guess work out of trying to figure out what, I'm going to be doing...
Would love to see what you do!
Ryan reaching the jeep Gold standard 🎉 . Reminded me of Cherokee in 80s
What stopped me from getting aftermarket fenders is seeing and feeling all the rock hits on my rear black sport fenders. I can just imagine all the chips in metal fenders which then turn into rust. I’ve already put door hinge covers but this was after already getting rock paint chips on them.
Good point!
Now that I watched this video, for me, it’s just not my style. 100% support it, though, Ryno! But I did buy a black flared Rubicon, so my opinion is biased. But I’ve actually accented my Sting-Grey with black accents, so I will probably ice out the white Glad, and put the removed Rubicon stuff on my Grey Jeep. Waiting to get some bank to start adding Distinction Applied pieces. Door handles, possibly 2024 grill, white cowl vent, etc.
Respect your opinion
@@DIRTROADCRED More respect to you, sir. Enjoy, as we ALL know you will.
Unless you get a TUSCADERO GLADIATOR!?!?!
Looks good. 👍 My wife said you need to get the inner hood latch painted to match. The black stands out too much.
Good call!!
How about gold wheels or gold accent on the black wheels? I think that would look good!! Channel is awesome!!
Looks nice. You can get painted fender flares on the Bronco too. All a matter of taste.
Looking good guys. I personally prefer the black flares, but that's what's great about Jeeps. Build yours how YOU want. That gas cap might have to be painted bronze soon to match though lololol
Respect your opinion! Thanks for watching
Looks great, can you give an update on how those amazon headlights are working out? They look pretty similar to the OEM ones which i like
Love the paint matched fenders & the gold trim. Great job!
Thanks!
I feel inspired. I'm going to get out there and earn my Ryan too! :)
Loving your work gentlemen.
Sometimes less is more. The fenders look great. The other items are a distraction
Now that you have the fenders off (you're probably already done and working on post), now would be the perfect time to install some Rock Lights. I haven't seen that you have done any video's on them. Love the Diode Dynamics rock lights but I'm a bit perplexed by where within the fender well would be the optimal mounting location. I'm looking for function/use not "cool" factor. Top of the wheel, back by the door, or towards the bumper? The DD are 1k/per so 1/per wheel should do it, but where to mount? ('23 Rubicon Unlimited) Thx
Love you guys. Love the channel, Love 2 doors (even though I have a built JLUR on 38's, but I do have my 95YJ and still running great), but like a couple of other folks below, I'm not a fan of where the build is now going. The clearance , tire size, and lift now makes the jeep look out of proportion. The gold accents remind me of something I'd see on that old custom car show "pimp my ride". I know that school of thought where some say good to keep factory fenders because it's cheap to replace when you damage them on the trail, but I'm a fan of steel fenders. Mine are powder coat black and although there's a chance of causing body damage if I get into something too hard, I'm normally not rock bouncing in my jeep and have slid off things multiple times with nothing more than some scratched powder coat. The other benefit of steel flat fenders is that I have a complete way of walking around my jeep if I'm stuck in deep mud, cold river, or any where I don't or can't touch the ground safely. The LOD rockers, fenders, LOD destroyer rear bumper and the stubby front bumper provide an excellent platform all the way around the jeep. Lol. Now if you lower that jeep, make those highline fenders black, poke the wheels out a little more then it'll look proportional. Oh and get rid of gold accents and go black including that front bumper and then you'll be in the game.... Just kidding, you're right build like like you want it. Hey at least Ryan's driving a jeep and enjoying it and you're getting views. Lol.
What I like is that you gave your opinion and didn’t degrade the content or attack us personally, we know you are a regular and appreciate the feedback, thank you!
@@DIRTROADCRED 1000% full support of you guys. Thanks for that.
With those fenders, you are going to need 37s for sure , and since you have the 392 axles, gearing won't be an issue.
Looks great 👍 love the two doors Jeeps .
That's the plan!
@@DIRTROADCRED awesome 👌
Not sure if it's the camera, but the fenders don't look like an exact match. Thats the fear with paint matching things.
You should of changed the fender vent when the fender was off.....lol
Starting to look like an 80's Cadillac with all the gold trim.
Two nice looking jeeps more i see your jeep the more i want a 4 door rubicon
The accent reminds me of those gold AK’s in the cartel movies….I guess I am a classic black or gun metal grey accent kind of person….but not my jeep. Happy Ryan is loving it and that you all are doing so well with the channel. Enjoy! And, keep doing you!
Thanks for watching!
I like the painted matched fenders, did the same thing to my wife's 2023 2 dr sport. The gold is definitely not for me., I did the opposite on my Mojave, took the orange and black decals and all the badging off and replaced it with all black.
To each their own!
Reall like the hood latches, do NOT like the side grill in gold. Love what you guys are doing with this 2 door. Great Jeep Ryan
Thanks 👍
I would probably also do the gas cap the back kinda looks like its missing something, kinda plain
You should make a DRC badge that mimics the Jeep BOH ones. And I should get a free one for the Idea.
lol good idea!
I like the contrast. Black with whatever colour.
Respect your opinion! Thanks for watching
Paint matched fender are the way to go but only one half of the hood latches are gold? Hmmm
I purposefully went with the stock black on my 2020 Gladiator Gator Rubicon. I didn’t want a pretty Jeep.
That color match looks outstanding on Ryan jeep 👍
I think so too!
i am still waiting on my fender flares they are on back ordered.
Doesn’t look like the color matches?
Sorry to be a stickler, but the color match is slightly off. I know it’s impossible to get it perfect aftermarket, but it’s certainly noticeable
I wish the chopped fenders didn’t make the back of the rear flare end so high. That section kind of ruins the chopped look for me.
Not crazy about the gold how about the motor did you get the turbo 4-cylinder what do you think about it you think is good
Love the 2.0
Ryan's getting ready for some 40s!
I dont mind painted fenders at all - however the colour does not look 100% matched
I think the paint color doesn’t match the original Anvil. The shade is different.
The shade is the same Ryan’s jeep is filthy…
:) now just pinstrip it in gold and you are back in the 80's!
Color match looks good! Not a fan of the extra gold though. Too much
Respect your opinion! Thanks for watching
The new ones look flimsy without any sort of inner liner.
For sure. Waiting on the inner fenders
Sharp upgrades ✌️
I missed where the rear quarter panel wrangler logos came from
Love the gold hood latches!! 💛
Thanks!!
Paint match those tube doors!
looking good guys!!
Those paint match fenders will just get scratched up.
awsome jeep style thx for the information
You lost me the moment you said that the stock black fender flairs look "dorky." I think they look cooler than the painted ones. I specifically chose NOT to have them when I special-ordered my Jeep. Form follows function. Having parts of the body that are most likely to get their paint scratched be scratch-proof because of not being painted but solid in their material and its color is that. It's smart. It's useful. It's cool. Only poseurs go out and blow a bunch of $$$ to replace their Jeep's far superior and with far more utility black fenders with body-painted fenders.
Stock black ****SPORT**** fenders is exactly what I said looks dorky, they are cheap looking , have halogen lights and don’t allow any clearance.
Sorry, but i don't like the higher fender flares... Well the front ones. Might look a little better with the front light and fender liners. I like the Factory colour matched fenders better. But we will see when the rest gets there.
Respect your opinion! Thanks for watching
Need some gold on those black wheels
I didn't like the gold vent. Weirdly think it's to gold and not bronze enough. lol
Are you adding lights to the fenders? If so, what are you putting on?
Video should be out next week! We have been waiting on some inner fenders
Where do you get the small “Wrangler” decal above the fuel filler door?
I want to get the Rubicon fenders for my Gladiator JT. Where do I purchase them from?
This higher fenders look awesome but other … is way to much bronze-gold pieces from my point of view 🧐
It’s looking good.
I feel like there's too much of the bronze/gold. Paint matched latches would've looked better, or at least keep them black.
Respect your opinion! Thanks for watching
What about the turn signals from the stock fenders…
