The WORST Sin Any Church Can Commit... (Hillsong EXPOSED)

  • This video is about a scandal and coverup at Hillsong Church, Sydney.
The original sin was assault against a woman called Anna Crenshaw, but Brian Houston attempted to cover this up.
Is this type of coverup the worst in a church can commit? I think it just might be! Hillsong Church is a church was has been exposed many times, and in many ways. This situation might well just be the worst of it!

❤ Mathew 23: 31-36 if not in your opinion, Jesus of Nazareth appraises hypocritical judgements by teachers and leaders. They all will face severe repercussions which puts this entire ministry effort at risk. Those dragging a woman caught in adultery for a stoning, the worst of the OT punishments, come to mind not because of the target but of His response to them. Gawking at a very old train wreck of this ministry quite primitive, lacking a NT and higher appreciation of Kingdom lifestyle. @lionoffireraw to use salacious thumbnails and tabloid headlines does you and especially His Church a gross disservice.
The spirit behind such condemnations fails to rise up to the command that we as followers love one another. Such trash talk might have been possible of Peter’s disavowal three times after pledging to die for his Master. Look here also to His response and then look to your own. You have your earthly reward for attracting and engaging subscribers in such a way but I shudder at not discerning the difference. The scribes and Pharisees attacked my Lord for the letter of the law; He cautioned with “But I say”. So have your say or better still, look at the list of responses you’ve generated and ask the Holy Spirit where the wages of sin adds two death sentences?

When one falls into sexual immorality they must be given the opportunity to repent and face accountability for their misdeeds. However, they must NEVER be allowed to occupy ever again any position of any kind of authority in the church. NEVER!!

Sexual immorality is a very broad term. I’m not sure dismissing someone from any authority for sexual sin ever again is appropriate? I’m not talking about sexual assault and safeguarding here. But plenty of Men and women have sexual immorality in their hearts outwardly and inwardly and if we reject anyone with sexual sin in their past from any part of God’s church then we wouldn’t have very many people at all would we?

Unbelievably infuriating. I’m no longer at that church.

    Hi Matt
Very sad , Hillsong church has had their inappropriate behaviour exposed many times. I truly don’t understand how the congregation are too blinded t to the falsehood of this church. The whole situation of your message, and all that has been exposed over the years is just too disgusting and against all that Christianity and the biblical teachings of Jesus Christ stands for.
I am a Christian myself but while visiting the area near their leading Australian mega church I dropped in to see for myself what is being preached. I was so shocked I lasted 10 minutes and left.

I hate this, as I have had sexual abuse myself not from a believer, but on college campus years ago. We need to clean out the church and get out the weeds😡 I live in Dallas and went to a church for awhile that is quite huge. We only went to it for maybe nine months and it was a solid Bible-based Christian church. When I signed up to teach children, there was a list of things I was supposed to do and it was way overboard and I couldn’t understand why, as it seems like they were really invading my privacy on more levels than I’ve ever been before when teaching. I have taught over 45 years children and never had this kind of a questionnaire and my husband and I were quite uncomfortable with it. Then we found out why🤷🏼‍♀️Years back a youth pastor had assaulted young ladies at the church years ago and nothing was really done about it. I know that it came out again last year and this person had moved on but now is in jail. I know a church in Austin, Texas, where my daughter has gone for years and my son. for some time although they do not attend there now. I guess a lead music director had been going there for years and they found out he had assaulted children and it has caused a real problem in the church. So much disunity as we are living in the last days, I pray that we repent not only individually but collectively, and pray that the gospel gets taught instead of entertainment as well☦️🙏🏼♥️

There is a difference between a mistake and a sin. A mistake is when I spell a word incorrectly whilst sin is the transgression of the law.
In my opinion there are far too many churches who call sin a mistake. Let's call sin for what it is.
Also how many churches practice church discipline in accordance with matthew chapter 18. How many do this? Not very many I might add.
It says that where two or more are gathered together in my name there I am in the midst of them. This has got nothing to do with a prayer meeting but has everything to do with the enforcement of church discipline when two elders come together.
They have been given authority by Christ to enforce church discipline.
A church that does NOT enforce church discipline is NOT a church.
As church discipline is a commandment from God.

    • @xaelath7771
      @xaelath7771 22 дні тому +1

While I completely agree that church discipline should be enforced, and that Matthew 18 is primarily concerned with discipline and forgiveness (which go hand in hand), the text says:
"Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." -Mattew 18 :18-20
This clearly refers to prayer, not just church discipline, as both are covered by "anything they may ask"

A mistake... isn't that an "Uh Oh, I did a boo boo"?
      Whereas,
A sin... isn't that "I was disobedient and by choice I strayed"?
May we not confuse the two.

    • @Packhorse-bh8qn
      @Packhorse-bh8qn 21 день тому +1

@paulhinton8699 "This has got nothing to do with a prayer meeting but has everything to do with the enforcement of church discipline when two elders come together."
There is nothing in this passage about elders. In fact the context is clear that the church is in view. Everybody.
Check 1 Corinthians, as well. Chapter 5 (in particular) is the most comprehensive passage on church discipline in the New Testament, and there is not one word addressed to elders anywhere in the entire epistle. Rather,, it is addressed to, "the assembly of God which is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ"
That's every believer. That's not elders.
There is nothing in Scripture that even hints that church discipline is for the elders to carry out. That idea is assumed into the text, not learned FROM the text.

I have a quick temper when it comes to certain things like sexual harassment and being disrespected and being treated lower than dirt. My boss was an colorful language hole. I do curse when I am ignored or disrespected.
It took me a long time to be able to forgive him.
They fired me and when they did they were extremely short staffed. I hated that job. Even some of the residents who were Christians were very hard to please and demanding. It was a tough job dealing with that day in and day out for ten years. It did thicken my skin a lot.

Managers do take advantage of their position at times. That happened to me at my job and I had to leave. The worst part for me was them treating me like I caused the problem. They couldn't accept seeing fault in her. I was sad to lose that job as I enjoyed serving the clientele.

The bible is clear on how to handle these matters & to play it down by saying he drank too much & made a bad choice is ludicrous. He merely got caught this time. And to have no compassion for the victim is appalling! How anyone stays in churches like this are beyond me. And Brian Houston minimizing sin...shameful. @lionoffireraw  21 день тому

      Right here ⬇️
Many Christians say that we shouldn’t judge others.
This is one of the greatest theological misunderstandings that I come across. They often quote ” Judge, not, that you be not judged.” (Matthew 7:1). Yet, they neglect to quote the following verses, which tell us exactly how we are to judge, thus completely taking the verse out of context. There are also a number of other verses about judging, those who profess to be Christians, but are living in a way that is antithetical to biblical Christianity.
Below is a video that I did a little while back, which teaches:
      - That we are commanded to judge these people
      - Why we are to judge these people
      - How we are to judge these people
Hopefully this helps to give people a better understanding on the matter.
      ua-cam.com/video/u2aRyF6UaWk/v-deo.html
Ps. Do you actually realise that you are judging me for judging?
I thought you said we can’t judge??? Now your judging me???

This happened long time ago and Brian was stood down…
Yes I agree covering up is devastating …
    I g to a Hill song church , not in Sydney… it is a very grounded church….
I find , church has lapsed in many ways in alcohol and standards that are from the Bible. I believe when you become a Christian, the holy spirit will tell you what’s right and wrong I smoked, and I knew I had to give it up without being told. I notice, alcohol has come into the church., and many people drink it, and I find that really hard . alcohol is the destroyer of homes. The wine they drink in the days of the Bible was totally different to the wine that we drink today. They also they had to drink wine as the water was so bad.
There are many churches that are guilty of sin…. We are all human and I think Brian will never be in a position like he was…
You have to pray that God will guide you….
He also said judge the fruit … I believe there is many good Christians in Hillsong .
I believe it was so damaging what Brian said about alcohol…
It was an excuse for that young lad, and I agree with you that the girl look worse than a young man as they were supporting the young man.
Brian has gone and I believe they’re trying to turn the church around…
I absolutely feel for that young girl… They didn’t support her and did a big cover up….
I hope the leader has changed…
We got to be careful you put Hillsong as all pastors are abusers …..

When the church defends the perpetrator and victimises the plaintiff, there is something radically wrong. Hillsong is known for covering up and taking no action. Brian Houston always shouts persecution. He doesn’t even know what persecution means. This person deserves a second chance, he says. What about this young girl??? This tells me something awful about these leaders.

My past experience of a 'charismatic' church was that it was a patriarchy and the position of women was strongly dictated by reference to selected Bible passages, in other words, not allowed to be in positions of leadership. The structure was like an old boys' club, and I knew after too many years that I did not fit in. All these big happy clappy churches were the same, run by big powerful men with meek spotless wives alongside and I am inclined to think that Jesus, had he paid a visit, would not have recognised what was preached in there. I imagine Hillsong is no different, just a bloated patriarchy spouting tired christian cliches. A skull and crossbones emblem should be hung over the door as a warning

I said we needed physical help, they made excuses. They just said "see you have your own faith, you got this area, we will leave you Alone". So I and my witness knows how to take action. Because my Christianity is under Faith without works is dead. So the whole lot ends its been judged and judgement executed. Just see now how it unfolds, because we are not putting up with it Get the criminality and lust, inaction out of "the church" its not on.
