Heads up, another one made a video yesterday entitled "Lion of Hellfire Ministries." If you think "Goatman" is nasty, this youtuber is really nasty, and has even put out videos attacking genuine old-time Free Grace Gospel ministers like the late John R. Rice for suggesting that repentance was necessary to bring one to the point of salvation. I was brought up Independent Fundamentalist Baptist (IFB), and he even attacks them. Don't waste your time trying to argue with him, however. He just gets mad, calls people "stupid unsaved devils," and blocks them from commenting. I personally do not believe you can lose your salvation, but one needs to make sure they really have it to begin with. And testimony matters! In a world where unbelievers constantly accuse Christians of being hypocrites based on our behavior, repentance is a must if we are going to reach the lost for Christ.

Catholics believe that "salvation is by grace alone through faith (that works through love) alone."
Based on this understanding joint declarations of agreement have been signed by the Catholic Church, the Lutherans (ECLA), and many other denominations.
Let's break it down:
*Salvation by Grace Alone:* Catholicism teaches that salvation is ultimately a gift from God, freely given out of His love and grace. Human beings cannot earn salvation through their own efforts; it is entirely dependent on God's grace. However, Catholicism also emphasizes that faith must be active and living, manifesting itself in good works and obedience to God's commandments.
*(That Works Through Love) Alone:* The phrase "faith that works through love" highlights the inseparable connection between faith and works in Catholic teaching. While salvation is not earned by good works, genuine faith naturally produces a life marked by love and good deeds. This concept is drawn from passages such as Galatians 5:6, which states, "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love."
In summary, Catholicism affirms that salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith, but this faith is not passive; it is active and dynamic, leading to a life characterized by love and good works.

I need some advice on a personal situation......as I'm getting different opinions and contradictinh6 advice from pastors in my church.
I'm a born again Christian and when I PRAY about this situation I get an answer that some of my pastors don't agree with. And it's important to me yo stay in God's will.

Yes you are 100% correct in this teaching. God's grace is not a cheap gift to be abused, instead we should continue in sanctification, taking up our cross for our Lord who has already done so much more for us. For He is worthy of praise and glory for ever and ever amen!

No, be not many of you teachers as you'll incur stricter judgment. So many apostates. God's grace is not license to sin. If you sin, you will go to hell. Why would you even want a gospel that allows you to sin? The whole point of Grace is that you love God, and His law. Like even Romans of all books--I was looking at it earlier--condemns sin, and doesn't justify the wicked. God will not pardon the wicked. Period.

Keep preaching the truth
Name-calling is all devilish narcissists have because they have no leg to stand on with their theology. When they do not know the truth and we disagree with them they rage. What they don't realize is that "rage" is the indicator that they do not know something and are covering it up by intimidation. It would be hilarious if it weren't so sad.
The evidence that one is born again is the fruit of the Spirit. Love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness and self control. This is fruit of the Holy Spirit in our character that produces good works and obedience.
Narcissists who accuse others is almost always speaking about themselves.
Yeah and the word of God does not come back empty. Jesus is wise to teach his children to look at the fruits of the tree, they do not lie. The ones who claim to follow Jesus turn around and curse others easily and say things I don't even want to remember or repeat because they are so vile! Neither do they show remorse or regret for behaving that way because they sit in their false confidence of salvation.. no! The Lord is our King, even his name is Holy, and in the deepest of our rebellion Jesus laid his life down, so that we may even approach the King! what an incredible gift and great honor, that the creator is interested to have a relationship with his creation, the least we could do is to be obedient and humble to learn and walk alongside God. They have absolutely tarnished the name of Jesus by their own actions, and neither can these false believers harm the children of God. God is not mocked.
Look at how the Holy Spirit is making you stronger. Look at the difference in yourself before Lyme disease and now spiritually. Before you had more fellowship, but maybe with false believers, and the Lord has protected you from these people. It takes time for these false believers to be revealed in our lives, they hide, their words are always partial truths. In hindsight I am always grateful for God's protection although it may seem painful at the time. Keep going!

The free gracers believe that once we're saved, God glosses over our sin or looks the other way.
This mindset is both utterly illogical and scripturally opposed. So, some how, sin, which God abhors, which is so vile he can't bear to look at us, is now irrelevant, just.. meh.
No that is not what free grace believe. There are always consequences to sin but loss of salvation is not one of those consequences. Lordship salvation sets the bar so low for their own salvation, they have actually deluded themselves into believing they can actually achieve it by their own works

I think we're talking about two different groups of Christians. One group thinks we can carry on deliberately sinning after we're saved because we're under grace. These are the liberals.
The other group works for their salvation,. They are still under the Law . These are the Legalists.
They are both wrong.
.So perhaps the term "Free Grace" for these groups is not the right term, as it's confusing.

This repentence demonstrates itself into actions that show a true changed heart. Accusing believers of licentiousness (license to sin) is their biggest argument to defend wilful sin. So many people think, "Thanks for the free ticket to heaven, Jesus!" and continue their lives of sin like all is well and heaven eagerly awaits them because Jesus took care of everything. I’m quite new at replying to comments but I sent one to Victoria.
Hopefully she received it regarding praying for other Christians & our adult children & backsliding to sin & I’m interested in this subject as to share my experience & hear others experiences. This was a great example of Gods word & you holding up the Bible in conclusion of our Fathers superseding truth calling goat out. I’d heard of Lyme disease but didn’t know what it was. I’m guessing that your a lot now. I hope I can be braver for Jesus & declare to my work colleagues that I belong to him. I work in a dangerous job with some good gutsy people. I guess if I get belittled or mocked I can just say “well you won’t be in my preys anymore but that would be a lie. My opinion....If we truly know God and have a real relationship with him then we know his heart and he knows our heart. It is a relationship that is more tangible and all consuming than any relationship we can have with another person. In this relationship all we should want to do is please him out of our love for him. Speaking about salvation in terms of whether or not we are going to heaven or what we need to do to go to heaven I believe is missing the point. And if you do not know what the point is then you really need to revisit whether you truly know Jesus and are actually in a real relationship with him.
Salvation is not reliant upon or works but on the finished work of Christ.

We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone. When a person exercises true saving faith, they are born again. When a person is born again, this produces a transformation. The works that come from this transformation are NOT meritorious of salvation in ANY way, but rather are the evidence of the born-again experience.

@lionoffireraw certainly a person who trusts in Christ is sealed with the Holy Spirit which will manifest itself by the fruit of the Spirit shown in Galatians 5:22 but a lot of people are trusting in their performance and works when in reality we are redeemed through the blood of Christ alone that saves, our works play no part in salvation, regardless if we sin or not we are already forgiven and cleansed.

Great idea. I've been looking for Christian biblical wisdom around ASMR and Chiropractic therapy. These are ungodly, but some Christians argue that these are safe for us, when they are not.

I see this all the time (especially on youtube), sometimes well-meaning..cough*.. Christians go after certain UA-camrs just because of something they possibly misunderstood. They didn't like it and assume the grand title of heretic Hunter, only to get into a tangled web of logical fallacies in the process. I think unbridled emotions Cloud good judgment, you set a good example of being calm and let your understanding of the Bible answer these criticisms for you. Whether it's politics or religion not being able to control your emotions and not actually understanding what you're debating paints people into a corner, and make them look foolish. God bless.

You made a lot of good points Matt. How do you address what Paul said in Galatians 1:9 about those who preach a false gospel will be cursed. Where is the line on that? Like Calvinism vs Armenianism, etc.
Given that Calvinism believes in salvation by faith alone, through Christ alone, I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it’s a false gospel.
I would certainly say it’s a false theology, but those people are not accursed.
Eventually we will need to stop saying “faith alone”, because “faith alone” will usually be heard as “faith without repentance”

They do some amazing hermeneutical gymnastics when reading passages like James 2. They say that it’s not talking about justifying faith. Yet the verse quoted from Genesis, is also quoted by Paul in Romans 4, when the very thing that he is talking about is justifying faith!! 😂

(Romans 10:16) Loving God, is something that he puts within the inner man (the new born again spirit) Change and growth takes time is not an overnight thing. If you want to pull the "willful disobedience" card then I advise you to read about the Carnal church of Corinthians. The Apostle Paul even rebuked them for their actions but he never once told them they aren't saved, or that their sinful actions were proof that they had not been born again. They belonged to Christ. As I stated before, James 2 is written to people who are already saved encouraging them to help other believers and to not show partiality to the poor. It's a profitable faith put into action to benefit those in need. It's not about salvation or even trying to work to prove you are saved.
Galatians is also a great book to read on the whole matter of Christ and the way salvation works.

There is no such thing as cheap grace only as long as the human truly believes and repents and means it when they ask Jesus to be their personal Lord and Savior. Only then is one truly saved by grace through faith alone. Naturally a true born-again Christian will never be able to grow in their beliefs and stances and even ministering of it to look different enough from the rest of of the world unless they become literate enough through feeding their born-again souls with the proper reading and studying of the Holy scriptures.

The other name for the “cheap grace” is “once saved always saved”. Example: I was at lunch with 2 friends, they attend a Pentecostal church so I’m not sure where they get this stuff, and in our discussion I gave the example of when I was backslidden and in the deepest part of my sin…if I were to die or the rapture happened would I go to heaven? They both said yes! WHAT?! No matter how I tried to explain they were wrong I couldn’t get them to see that I wouldn’t not have been in heaven. So I asked Holy Spirit to help me. He said the 7 churches of Revelation…Yeshua calls to them to REPENT. So if repentance is needed…you aren’t going to heaven. Simple explanation. My son is a prodigal, he was saved at 7 and served the Lord, backslid in his early young adult life..he’s only 39 now…he is not ready for Heaven! A lot more could be said.

The only way I can see salvation by grace through faith alone as being cheap grace rather than genuine salvation is if the person tries to accept Christ but without having experienced repentance first. Otherwise, salvation by grace through faith alone is the greatest news of all, and we should count it as a blessing that it is true since we can all have the privilege to grow through both conviction and learning as a born-again believer rather than having to spend a life time trying to do everything right through conviction and learning so that we can all hopefully avoid the flames of Hell not to mention having to spend our whole lives always fearing our fate in this whole matter.

When sinners come to Christ, though they have been made new in Him and are given a new heart, we do not completely stop being sinners, because we still have our flawed bodies (thorns in the flesh) to compete with and we still have minds that have to learn all the fundamental truths step by step with the convicting help of the Holy Spirit. I used to be a Oneness Pentecostal and THAT my brother is what an actual works-gospel looks like: that because you believe a set of facts about Jesus Christ (note that by some of these "facts" they teach another Jesus), your works to get/stay saved are justified and accepted, and you have to do them to earn and maintain salvation. This is exactly what, in Pilgrim's Progress, landed Ignorance in hell. But the true Gospel is that your works are never justified, but rather punished in Jesus Christ, thereby justifying your person through what Jesus Christ did in own Person, without us.
Thereafter being regenerated we are created - to do whatever we want? - no, we are created unto good works. They don't determine our salvation, but rather they are determined by our salvation, bearing fruit, some thirty, some sixty, some a hundredfold. Pilgrim's Progress also addressed this in the character Talkative, who despite speaking fervently of what he believed, had no fruit to back up his profession and was implied to be abusive to his family ("a saint abroad and a devil at home"). While his end was not depicted as Ignorance's was, his profession was no less rejected by Christian and Faithful.

Ther are two phases in the life of the elects, first is the period of being a sinner and the second phase is when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and saviour. On the first phase the only requirement is to believe Jesus and repent from sin. This is the instance that paul said that the believer was saved by faith alone and not by his works. The second phase is after believing Jesus the believer is baptized by the Holy Spirit the believer and the believer becomes a new person who cares only the leading of the Spirit to its works and not that of the flesh.

Born again is the renewing of the person as Jesus explained should be born of water and spirit. Meaning cleansing of the believer from sins and renewing of his own spirit. The point is probably the actual experience of the person. I have seen people go forward at an alter call because their friends went. The action of walking up the aisle was the same, however the experience at the alter was entirely different. One? A true acceptance of Gods grace and love through the sacrafice of Jesus. A true conversion and born again experience. The second? All show. One goes on to lead a spirit lead life and be put under conviction for sins. A heart bent toward Christ. Growing as a child every year. The second? Although this person appeared to be "born again", said the right things, made the correct movements.....they loved the world and didn't actually accept Jesus as their savior. These would be in the category falling under this scripture in Matthew 7

Now I will say, only God knows the heart of a man. And yes we are actually suppose to be able to know someone as a believer from their fruits. Bad fruit? Are you growing, or are you actually a weed? Reading the entire chapter of Matthew could be helpful here.
So I can understand lines of thought. In most cases what we are to do for those people with a poor example is pray for them. The God who spoke the universe into existance can surly deal with a tiny human.
Who is right? Sometimes we just need to breath, go back to the Bible and see what the entire Book says. Not lifting out a scripture here and there. And if you were to look at the entire chapter 7, yes.....Fruit inspection is a good thing.

Yeah. The Lord reads hearts. We may fool the man by our actions but we will not fool the Lord. A person who doesn't understand scripture but is keen to, I believe the holy spirit is happy to guide and teach, a person who secretly loves their life of sin but claims to be a Christian their secret deeds will be shown on he day of judgement.

This goes back to an early gnostic heresy made by Valentinus and re-packaged a tenet concerning that no one can contract any evil whatsoever. Let me break it down:
1.) Valentinus does this splitting of the carnal and spiritual mind. So by this, he makes the argument that even

In St. Irenaeus' work, he reports, "They make no scruple on eating meats sacrificed to idols and they are the first to be present there." and, "The women (and/or prostitutes) hang around the temples to commit all sorts of adultery." For the simple idea that because "the material cannot affect the spiritual". Paul specifically addresses this in Romans 7:21-23. While these things are distinct, they are entities waring for your members or for your mind on which you choose to act upon. This is why we have culpability of our actions and God's judgement makes sense upon makes sense; especially His sacrifice on the cross.

Salvation produces fruit.If you are truly saved, you will act saved. While you may still sin, it will not be your first or regular behavior, it will cause conviction / godly sorrow, and it will be repented of. Continuing in unrepentant sin can escalate to denial / resistance to the conviction of the Holy Spirit - also known as 'doing despite (insulting) the Holy Spirit AKA blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Hello! I don't believe in the Once Saved Always Saved, because God gives us a free will. Yes, we are marked with a seal... but we CAN grieve the Holy Spirit! We can step away from God little by little. We can choose to ignore the voice of the Holy Spirit calling us back! We will eventually harden our hearts against God. .. no they will not. I'm saying from my own experience being a fake Christian living life like I wanted to in sin.. and during that time none of the fruits of the Holy Spirit showed in me. I was bitter, hateful, hated children hated people, I was malicious in thought l, bitter and jealous all the while thinking I was saved. Then I left the faith. Because of a matter I prayed for decades did not go answered, then I cried to god one day just last year feb and truly repented, stopped watching horror stuff, bought my bible to read it, and I discovered the pastor I listened to for decades (Joseph prince) taught this exact same evil free Grace doctrine. I knew it was not my works that saved me, it is 100% based on the mercy of God, by the death of Christ at the cross for my sins, but also because now I wasn't lying to him anymore and actually did 2 things: 1) know the Lord and 2) try to understand what fear of the Lord means, genuinely like try to wrap my head around it. My life has never been the same since.. over time even my speech is so different. At one time I used more f words than everyone I knew. Now this word sears into my mind like a hot iron. People who want salvation but don't want the savior are self centered, hence their actions show itself in ungodly conduct. But people who understand the grace and preciousness of the gift, feels gratitude and will love the gift giver, who is the Lord.
Can someone say they love their mother but acts in a way that makes other people curse their mother.. and they don't feel remorse? It's not possible.
OK even better, if you have been genuinely saved, would you act in a manner that might influence another young believer to do these evil satanic things while thinking God condones them? A real believer will love others as Jesus commanded and be careful that their own conduct not cause another brother or sister in christ to stumble, but to earnestly hope and encourage others to remain in christ. 😊
the fastest way to work out of someone teaches a false gospel, is to find out if they teach "Jesus is God".
they are supposed to be teaching Jesus is the Christ the Son of God.

I think I agree with you mostly, so I ask this question with humility and a genuine desire to learn your beliefs. Do you believe someone can lose their salvation? If someone genuinely turns to Christ and repents of their sins, but 20 years later decides to fall into willing, unrepentant sin, have they lost their salvation?
Edit: Note that I ask this because I was saved as a child a followed Christ into my adulthood. Then, I had a period of being a prodigal and living in the world. I repented again several years later and turned back to Christ. Would you have considered me lost for those years and "saved again" when I turned back to Christ? Or is the fact that I came back evidence that I was genuinely saved? Or was my real conversion when I returned to Christ?
In Ezekial 18, God goes into great detail about the righteous backslider.
"But if a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die.
25 “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear, you Israelites: Is my way unjust? @@lemongate4869 The main theme of Ezekiel 18 is God's fairness in judging individuals according to their own deeds, rather than their familial lineage. It doesn't discuss the concept of salvation, so this doesn't answer my question. I really want to know if Matt believes a person can lose their salvation. I'm onboard with his teaching about easy-believism. Salvation is more than praying some prayer like it's some sort of magical spell. There needs to be a heart change for sure.

You obviously didn't read the verses I posted. The preceding verses are about ancestral sin, which God addresses.
Then, in the verses I posted you, God addresses personal sin. He makes it very clear that if the righteous sin, without repentance, they will be spiritually dead and yes, lose their salvation.

Yeah, the comments on the critical videos show rotten fruits. They profess to follow the Lord and then speak perversely and act just like wicked people cursing and swearing. No one who is saved and loves the Lord will sin wilfully and intentionally grieve the one who saved them. Their own actions demonstrate their lack of knowledge of thew Lord and that they value the gift more than the gift giver. They miss the point that none of this salvation is about us but the King in heaven!!

We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone. When a person exercises, true saving faith, they are born again. When a person is born again, this produces a transformation. The works that come from this transformation are NOT meritorious of salvation in ANY way, but rather are the evidence of the born-again experience.
This is the gospel of grace alone (anything else is cheap grace)!

Well, if there can be "negative" evidence of someone's salvation, that must be there can be positive or at least neutral evidence too right? Even if that evidence is simply the absence of negative evidence, of course there can be evidence.
To them, preaching essentially James 2:14-26 (not the Catholic understanding) is evidence someone is unsaved, but that makes their gospel a "negative" works based gospel, because preaching James 2:14-26 becomes a negative work to avoid (in their view).
What's the difference between a gospel centered around avoiding negative works like preaching James 2:14-26 (in their mind) and a gospel that recognizes that positive works are a part of true saving faith?
I think to ponder this too much is to go insane, so I probably shouldn't think about it much more for my own good lol.
That’s a really great comment. These are the types of contradictions that I have exposed in recent videos on the topic. The irony is that they are completely unaware of what they are doing, in this regard. But I found when you refute him with scripture about sharing the truth in love, rebuking with all long-suffering, or turning from sin, he goes silent. In 1John 3:6, when it says (Whoever abides in Him does not sin), that's talking about our (new man), our new man does not sin. When it says (Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor knows Him) that's talking about the person that's not saved.
*Now look at 1JOHN 1:8, our flesh sins.
*We can walk in darkness, 1JOHN 1:6, cross reference with Romans 13:12
The Lukewarm:
Jesus could wish they were cold or hot not Lukewarm. =Revelation 3:15
The Lukewarm, are people who are not saved.
*The Lukewarm people are naked, they have no garments on.= Revelation 3:17,18
*There are some believers that have defiled their garments, they are not naked= Revelation 3:4
Now go back to Revelation 3:21 = (to him who overcomes,) cross reference that with 1JOHN 5:4,5, (we overcome the world, through our faith.)

In the beginning of the letter of Galatians, Paul is addressing the Churches of Galatia and in these Churches not everyone is saved.

In 2Corinthians 6:2, the word (Now) means = at this time, the present.

In Gal 5:19 it mentions (works). In the Judgment seat of Christ, which is a Judgment for the Church only in = 2CORINTHIANS 5:10/1Cor 3:11-15, this judgment is for rewards, based on our (works), not a lost of salvation. Verse 15 supports this.
In Galatians 5:21, Paul uses the word (they), not us or we, (they) meaning those that are not saved in the Churches of Galatia.

That’s called the false doctrine of Calvinism.
The early church fathers who were taught directly by the apostles (who wrote the Bible) never believed that God chose some before birth and rejected others before birth. This doctrine was introduced into the church hundreds of years later by Augustine (who was influenced by his involvement in the gnostic cult of the Manichaean faith for 9 years).
My young friend, I think I got the picture, of what you are saying... If you are a true Christian, you cannot teach a false Doctrine. The Bible tells us, Faith without works is Dead...! What God is telling us is, after you put on that new man, your daily actions will show that. Once you accept the New Wine, you must put it in a New flesh, or it will be Lost. Your Works (good deeds) represent a new heart and a new flesh. Can a Christian go out and sin and still go to Heaven, No... When a person gets saved, a seed is planted, but it is up to you to make it grow. (to show your desire to serve God) A Christian is without sin. If anyone thinks they can lie to God, con God, YOU are in for a very rude awaking...! There will be a lot of people that call themselves Christian saying Lord, Lord, and you will hear Jesus say, I Never Knew You...! Because you cannot put new wine in an old wine skin...!! It will burst and you will lose your Seed of Salvation... Go with God
