  • In this video I show How to Make a Wooden Door Stop out of Reclaimed Wood. I used a chunky old fence post, and a few bits of hardware to make it. These are great for holding a door open and could make a great gift.

Very simple idea. I was looking at doing the same things myself. I haven't seen anyone else put those corner brackets on and that looks really good. I agree that it doesn't work well for floor that could scratch so putting the rubber bottoms on it would be great. I had even bought one of those ring plates already from Harbor freight. It's nice to see somebody already doing something. I want to do myself and now I can see that it looks pretty good. I don't have boiled linseed oil but I was thinking of using Danish oil.

Thanks 👍🏻 glad you find it useful. Yes Danish oil should work well also. I've got loads more videos like this on my channel that you might like also 👍🏻

Another job well done, it’s actually a really great idea, maybe I’ll surprise the wife and make her a set for our back French doors, nice touch on the corner brackets, came out very well

Very nice! What drill bit size so you use for pilot holes, Phill?

thanks Rob👍 I am not sure exactly what size I think it was around 2mm-3mm wide. As long as the thickness of the drill bit is slightly narrower that the shaft of the screw you should be good to go.
