Thanks for your reaction! The live Aid was a concert for helping the famine in Africa. Several extraordinary bands performed snd no one receive some money for that, lime Queen, Led Zeppelin, McCartney, David Bowie, Elton John...it was transmitted simultaneously in all the world...each one had about 20 minutes to perform... The Queen concerts performed about 3 hours (Wembley 86-Montreal 81- Milton Keynes 82....etc) with the same passion, energy from the beginning to end. Welcome to the Queen experience, I wish you stay and enjoy. Big hug

It wasn’t only Queen who realized they had been sensational. Paul Gambaccini, who was part of the BBC broadcasting team at Live Aid, recalled the awe among other superstar musicians watching backstage. “Everybody realized that Queen was stealing the show,” said Gambaccini. These were the very words Elton John uttered when he rushed into Mercury’s trailer after the set. “You bastards, you stole the show,” joked the charismatic star.
“Queen smoked ’em. They just took everybody. They walked away being the greatest band you’d ever seen in your life, and it was unbelievable,” said Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. “And that’s what made the band so great; that’s why they should be recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time, because they could connect with an audience.”

Live Aid was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London, attended by about 72,000 people, and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, attended by 89,484 people. one-third of the global population tuning into a TV broadcast at the same time. That's what happened on July 13, 1985, when 1.9 billion people watched musicians perform in London and Philadelphia to raise money for famine-stricken Ethiopians.

Ah this is something I've never forgotten. Its seared into into my memory for ever. This concert was raise money for the terrible famine in Ethiopia which had reached biblical proportions, beamed into our living rooms night after night on the news was very distressing. Bob Geldof singer of the Boom town Rats decided to try and do something about it.The concert was a first in outside broadcast. Each artist or band had 20minutes to get on perform and get off. They were great artists all of them but Queen here were stand out. This performance is rated the best of all time, for its passion and its energy and the sheer joy of it. They had rehearsed to get their best known songs down to 20 minutes and boy did it show.

This was a concert for the famine in Ethiopia. Several artist performed and were given 20 mins for each for their set. There was also a show in Philadelphia at the same time it was shown worldwide and kept flipping between London and Philadelphia. Also Freddie did that performance with a throat infection and performed against doctors orders. Freddie is a legend and is loved worldwide.

Apparently Freddie was told by a doctor not to perform as he had a bad throat. However Queen did perform and smashed it. This 'Live Aid' concert was for the famine in Ethiopa and was organised by Bob Geldolf of the 'Boom Town Rats' along with a charity single by Band Aid called 'Do They Know Its Christmas'. Each band or singer had a 20 minute slot and if they went over it they got cut off. However, Queen did the most songs and finished exactly on time.

To think Freddie did this concert against doctor's orders. Each band had a 20-minute slot. It wasn't a full Queen concert there were many British bands there that day. Check out Wembley 1986 concert a 2-hour concert which was quite normal for Queen.

Live Aid was a duel-venue concert held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London (audience of 72,000) and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia (audience of 100,000) that was connected and broadcast over 13 satellites worldwide to an audience of over 1.9 Billion. The purpose of the concert was to raise money to aid Ethiopia which was suffering from 2-year drought. There were 75+ acts that performed, each allotted a 20-minute slot.
The UK line-up included Status Quo,, David Bowie, Elton John, Wham!, Sting, U2, The Who, Paul McCartney, and Bob Geldof with his band The Boomtown Rats. The US bill included Madonna, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin, and Tom Petty. Phil Collins played in both London and then caught the Concord Supersonic Jet and flew to perform again in Philly.

If you ever react to 'We Are The World' it grew out of the same international reaction. It started with 'Do They Know Its Christmas' by Band-Aid a bunch of U.K. stars who got together, recorded a song together and donated the proceeds to Ethiopian famine relief. After that came the idea for a concert, Live Aid. The first half at Wembley Stadium in London, with part two kicking off eight hours later in Philadelphia. Donations poured in from around the globe. After that many countries around the world got their on stars together to records songs with proceeds going to famine relief. Songs like 'We Are The World,' by USA For Africa and 'Tears Are Not Enough' by the Northern Lights in Canada. became big hits.
Yes, there was a time when people reached out to help others rather than put up walls to keep themselves safe from others. 'The Times They Are A Changin' but not always for the better.

Live AID, brought together every day people for all kinds of causes to help people in need. This was a beautiful thing in the 80's. Instead of what we are seeing today with all of the division going on in this world, people came together and it didn't matter where you were from, how you dressed, what religion or ethnicity you were, people came together for good. This is something this world needs again, though I'm not sure something like this could or would ever happen again.

AAK! This looks like the particular video that cuts off at the end. I have no idea why someone would post it like that but not your fault. This is just a fantastic performance for this entire set. There were many bands for this all day concert and each group was allowed 20 minutes for their set. There were two concerts, one in London and one in Philadelphia both going on at the same time and broadcast all over the world. When they changed sets in London, one of the groups in Philly would be playing and vise-versa so the music was basically non-stop all day long and into the evening This was a concert to benefit the people suffering from a famine in Ethiopia. The crowd sings along with all the Queen songs because they know all the words. Queen always drew these huge crowds and generally in large arenas. Here were around 72,000 in the audience but at their Rock In Rio concerts, there were about 300,000 people at each of them. Concerts were not because of the political climate, we didn't have anything other than radio or records to listen to music, no video other than MTv if you had cable, so we all went to live shows, it was just good entertainment and something to do with your friends. Music was a central part of many of our lives. I can't even count how many I went to and I saw all the headliners too, some of them multiple times. This was a very hot day and Freddie didn't use drugs when he was performing most of the time. He just expends so much energy singing and working the stage that he is sweating and also the lights back then were super hot, not the kind of lights they have today. Thank you for your reaction.

End of 80s "Tear down that wall" in germany was a great conclusion for the era; reaganomics in america, recovery, unity, prosperity, all happening at this time. Generosity on a global scale. Much joy.🎉

Wow!! Did you not know that you reacted at one of the WORLDS greatest performanses of all time? Queen were just one of the graeat names, and they stole that show. By the way, do you know who Freddie Mercury was? The greatest performer, singer and songwriter of all time? Even composer? Hope you're not answering no here, than I must ask you: where have you been the last century? I beg you, react to more songs of Queen. They sound so good!! I did not hear you mentioned ONE time, that the frontman had a great voice!? He is singing with the same intensity all that time, flawless, and you do not notice? Sorry, but I'm in a bit of a shock here 😮 If you want to be blown away, here is some songs you can listen to, maybe react to. "Who wants to live forever" live at Wembley 1986. "Save me" and "Somebody to love" live in Montreal 1981. And one of my all time favourite "Too much love will kill you". Enjoy, hope youre in for a good ride 👌

There has to be a way to get that video taken down. It really ruins the reaction. Let’s not forget Brian and Freddie do an encore at the very end, with “Is This The World we Created”. Perfect song for the concert you would have thought it was written for this event. Queen had seen the famine many months earlier and wrote the song at that time.
