I can't even tell you how many times I have watched this. It never gets old. Each time is pure joy! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! 💖💖💖😎😎😎
I've lost count a long time ago too! And It's still amazing!
Forever and a day.❤️🤘. Music is my blueprint of life.
There has never been such a thing as a bad queen concert. If they were still around they could teach the modern era exactly how to make your audience go full on crazy for everything.
@@marcusking332 Exactly 🤘
Me too ,
I don't think anyone on earth ever embodied the spirit of "sexy and I know it" like Freddie. He just seemed so in love with the world when he was on stage, and the world loved him right back.
I wish he never had to go.
He was utterly loveable. And beautiful.
Freddie was Sex on legs. Incredibly handsome, talented, fun... and hot as hell.
o yes, me 2. There are people you still miss, so many years after their death. And Freddie for me is centainly one of them. He was born to be on the world stage. And he was magical. Bless him.
Fantastic performance, Freddie really goes all out and considering he had a throat infection and his doctor told him not to sing, he really stepped up his game. He later said that singing on that day felt like he was gargling with shattered glass. I love this show, I always feel like I am right there in the crowd. Thank you for your reaction.
Brian May is the guitarist, he is always on the lists for the greatest guitarist of all time
Yeah... and he's also a PhD in Astrophysics. So if you need a solid lead guitar, or someone to plan your trip to Alderaan... you know where to go!
Plus he has the greatest electric guitar tone of them all: rich like liquid chocolate.
Brian’s guitar known as,the red special, was
Built by Brian and his dad. There wasn’t another guitar like it in the world. Today Brian has collaborated with a guitar company and they make a guitar just like Brian’s.
Absotively posilutely.
That crowd!! The whole world! All captivated! The GREATEST EVER!
The audience didn't even know Queen was going to be there. Yet the audience knows every word! Freddie's crowd control is incredible! He even had you going!❤️
72 thousand people in the stadium, this performance is so epic!! It was their stage
it was actually closer to 100 thousand. There is seating for 72,000 for sporting events so you have to add in all of the people in the playing field.
@@susanengland3919 the official Attendance for Wembley Concerts back then was 72,000 including Seating/Standing, Nothing Higher
@@jackcolbert05 I'll take your word for it, but that seems strange when they supposedly had that much seating when there was a game being held on the field.
Never be another frontman like Freddie, RIP
🥰💯💯💯 There will never ever be another like Freddie!!🤗❤
Even while aboard a US NAVY ship in the Indian Ocean we heard about this performance
Freddie died 6 years after this performance, legend Dr. Brian May is on guitar he is an astrophysicist, John Deacon Bass Electronics and Roger Taylor Biilogy, Freddie Graphic Design. All educated, all are in songwriters halk of fame individual, only band to do that.
Crowd Control at a whole new level!
King Freddie and QUEEN 👑.
doctor didn't want Freddie to perform due to sore throat
Even the other acts waiting to perform commented that Queen stole the show. David Bowie was scheduled to go on right after Queen, and he was heard to comment "How am I supposed to follow THAT???" Freddie had laryngitis the week before the concert and was advised by his physician to skip it and rest his throat. He ignored the advice and went on to make history.
Perfection. No other words can describe this performance. I watched it in real time and it cemented me as a Queen fan for life. This performance still holds up 30+ years later. Enough said. We love you, Freddie!!
Lead vocals: Freddie Mercury
Lead Guitar: Brian May
Bass Guitar: John Deacon
Drums: Roger Taylor
They all did backup vocals
They estimate that 59 billion people actually saw this performance worldwide that day. Queen kicked everyone's ass!
The population of the Earth is 7.75 billion. Million?
Think Jodi meant 1.5 or 1.9 billion.
@@juliannetomlinson Yes, that sounds about right. And when you think the world's population didn't even reach 5 billion until 1987, it's even more amazing what that day was ...
Yes I don't know where I got my numbers from. I just get carried away when it comes to them. I'm fairly certain my data is incorrect. Maybe it was 59 million. I think the 59 part is right though.
You only forgot to put the dot between the 1.9 billion Jodi no big deal.🙂
So, Biz, I know you love your rock. Queen laid down some killer rock tracks like "Hammer To Fall," & "Tie Your Mother Down." Oh yeah, Queen could rock out.
I was so happy you reacted to this. I'm sitting here in the hospital waiting for another surgery. When I saw that you finally got this one done it made my night. Great reaction bizmatik. Thank you, thank you, thank you....
Good luck with your surgery Jodi. Hope it all works out. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
This brings tears to my eyes. It is so amazing..I can't say the right words that describe it perfectly, but it grabs my heart. Thanks for reacting to their whole appearance not just 1 song. Love Brian May! He is the lead guitarist. He is one of the best their is. IMHO their best album is A NIGHT AT THE OPERA. How can people not get emotional over this? Where's my tissue!!!
Freddie was the ultimate front man,Sir Brian May Dr astrophysics lead guitar & vocals,John Deacon bass & vocals & Roger Taylor drums & vocals. All so talented
Brian May is the lead guitarist. As a teen he and his father hand made Brian’s guitar at home. He eventually got his doctorate as an Astrophysicist.
Legendary❤️RIP Freddie- one of a kind.❤️
75,000 in attendance , and 1.9 Billion watching from around the world.
My Saturday afternoon was magnificently improved. Queen is great for my heart. Thanks for taking the time.
I saw that Live then in 85 on TV , and even now it's still resonates as one of The Greatest Live Performances Ever Ever , it's Monumental and Mesmerising I watch it in Disbelief as how Freddie was a Pure Entertainer and captivated me , that's what he did, you just was drawn to him and his vocals and Performance 💯
Album , got to be
"A NIGHT AT THE OPERA" Absolutely Stunning 😍 🎶🎵💯❤️🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥
The guitarist is Brian May...actually Dr Brian May ..he's also an Astrophysicist! The guitar is called Red Special, and was built by Brian and his father as a teenager with basically stuff from around the house..it endures to this day! Roger Taylor on drums..he also provided vocal support for Freddie...as they all did really. They all supported each other. Both Brian and Roger are still making music and touring and are Queen with Adam Lambert now. John Deacon on Bass quit the band shortly after Freddie passed in 1991. He still handles the business issues at times for them. Queen has sustained for over fifty years, and have never broken up. Enjoy your ride down this amazing rabbit hole! Also check out Queen Official on yt to look at some of the amazing solo work of Brian and Roger👍
and his vocal support for Freddie was needed at this concert as Freddie chose not to sing all the high notes (laryngitis). No high notes were missing , Roger was there as well.
Actually, now it's SIR Dr. Brian May. 🙃
I tear up at the end every single time. Freddie was one of a kind.
Great reaction. Thank you for sharing your time with us. ☮️
If you go back and watch, in front of the stage monitors there is a green, yellow and red light… indicating time left for the set… just as Freddie did his final hand gesture, the light turned red…. They had timed the set PERFECTLY…. Absolute professionals.
This just part of We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions because they only had twenty minutes for the whole set! You can find both songs in concert in the full form
Brussels Forrest National 1978. News Of The World tour. A seven ton crown hung above the stage, containing all of the lights and some pyrotehnics. We Will Rock You was being chanted, stomped and clapped and droned all through the arena when the band finally decided to appear. And the seven ton crown fell down. Only for a meter/three feet. But I've never ever seen a band sprint that fast to get off a stage.
Wow!
@@vickiconley3638 Indeed.
They were a phenomenon like magic captured the crowds and took us on a journey that we'll never forget. Loved it back in the day, even tho we didnt have internet or social media, we have lifelong memories of live concerts, outdoor concerts, etc of some of the most amazing bands to ever exist. So I love to see the younger generations give the music a chance and watch them fall in love with great music. Thanks so much for reaction, Peace
Notice how Bryan May changed guitar twice during Crazy Little Thing Called Love? He starts on an acoustic, the one electric guitar for the middle break, and another for the outro.
You have to start with Queen, their debut album, you have to hear what we heard, it was the first time the world heard them. Their follow up, Queen II, is amazing too.
Never gets old. Freddie and Brian (the guitarist) come back out for an encore. It’s pretty amazing.
Love of my life 🎶🎵
@@MichaelLynch1 “Is This the World We Created” I believe was the song
@@cmoeller3 did they do a Acoustic version of "Love of my Life" at Wembley 85 sure I see it a few times on UA-cam 🎶❤️
@@MichaelLynch1 think so! Different date possibly
@@cmoeller3 just checked , yes indeed Carlos it was a year after 1986 🎶🎵🎸💯👌👍😊
Brian May on lead guitar (also an astrophysicist). He is actually Dr. Brian May because he has a PHD
Roger Taylor on drums (Degree in biology)
John Deacon on bass guitar ( Degree in finance)
Freddie Mercury - lead singer (Degree in arts and graphic design)
They were a very educated band
This was such a huge thing when it happened. I watched it and it's a huge moment in my generations history. Saw Queen in the 70's and it was a night to remember.
Freddie wrote Crazy Little Thing Called Love as a tribute to Elvis after he died, which is why it sounds like something he would sing. Freddie was a big fan of Elvis.
Freddie wrote the song "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" as a tribute to Elvis. Story has it that he wrote it in 10 - 15 minutes in the bathtub. He loved Elvis and you can hear the Elvis sound in the song! I think Elvis and Freddie Mercury are the two best male singers ever!! Love this concert! Great review!
Love this band and Freddy Mercury's vocals...🔥✌️👍❤️
Do as much Queen as you want! I'll be there. I love my Freddie. I remember the famine and was glued to the TV for the concerts. Bittersweet memories with Queen. Sad but happy to watch him strut across the stage! Man, he could sing and like the Pied Piper we could of followed him anywhere, even toward war I suppose. He had that kind of magnetism on stage. Love and miss him. G.O.A.T.
This just never gets old. The amount of times I've watched this ridiculous.
Queen is Freddie Mercury-piano/vocals, Brian May-guitar/vocals, Roger Taylor-drums/vocals, John Deacon-bass/some back vocals
Probably one the the best frontman ever!!! His stage prowess and his voice and crowd interaction is phenomenal!!!
Ojalá y hubiera podido estar allí, este hombre fue y será siempre único ♥️ muchas gracias por la reacción y saludos desde España 🥰🥰
Freddie..the ultimate performer. I'm rocking out with you from United Kingdom. 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🎶 🎸 💕
Queen go's down in history 🙌
Thanks, Biz - glad you enjoyed it so much! Give it up for Brian May on Guitar (and vocals) - Roger Taylor on drums (and super-high Freddie-backing vocals) - and Mr. John Deacon on the astounding bass.. this was a true band.. not just Freddie w/ some back-up... hope to hear more...
Freddy was asked in an interview which instrument he liked playing the most and he answered THE AUDIENCE!!!😀
Pure talent, pure charisma, pure stage presence...a legend!
It was a fundraising show for the hungry in Africa, so on the stage you can see a map of Africa. Madonna, Elton John and more were there. The Queen's performance was the best in history.
"I WANT IT ALL" is another kickass song from QUEEN !! 👍
Roger Taylor is drummer. John deacon is bass player. Brian May is lead guitarist. You will learn how tight this band is😊
Saw them in Central Park, NYC, a lifetime ago - for $2.50.
Queen is the greatest I have always listened to their music thank you!
Everyone should watch this video all at once. Twenty minutes feels like five minutes watching this. Greatest concert ever!
It's been said, this was the day when all the best singers and bands opened for Queen! This is one of the greatest performances of all time. So happy we now have you in a huge group of the best people in the world, Queen fans! ❤ I enjoyed watching your reaction and would you play more Queen, please and thank you! 😊
This was a fantastic performance by Queen! I really loved your passion while reviewing this historic event. Very well done sir thank you!
still gives me chills
No lipsync with the old school bands!! Live and raw!!
True talent & professional! Remember Freddy was ill with a sore throat & performed against his doctors orders & STILL was perfection!! 🥰🎶💪🏻
“Hammer to Fall” song is on The Works album. It sounds better live, there’s more feeling in it. Guitarist Brian May, drums Roger Taylor, base John Deacon. All four of them are great. Roger Taylor’s vocals on somebody to love 👍
Thank you for the great reactions, watch their live concerts and that's all, studio versions are good too, lots of surprises from queen 💖
Freddie Mercury was a Genius and He Got over 200K right with him having a Blast. There is one shot from a Helicopter that shows a Complete Seller of a Show. Tickets back then we most $30.00 - $50.00
This concert was considered the greatest live concert of all time! Brian May is they guitarist, Roger on drums, John on Bass.
They had exactly 20 minutes to perform; power would be cut if they went over. There were green yellow and red lights to indicate when time was running out. They nailed it as the red light came on. Perfection 💛
Pushin algos, Freddie was one of the best front men ever. R.I.P. Freddie such a great loss
If you want to react to a full album ( do them all is what you should do, lol), Queen2 and Innuendo are their best work. And as good as Live Aid was, their FULL concerts are even better. 2 Plus hours of magic! Queen never gave less than full measure and then some. The Guitarist is Dr Brian May, astrophysicist in his spare time, the Drummer is Roger Taylor and the Bassist is John Deacon. All three, as well as Freddie, wrote Nr.1 Hits for the Band. Freddie was adamant that he was not their leader, but only the lead singer. Four incredibly gifted and very different people Who needed each other to teach their full potential.
Oh, the showmanship! I have performed on stage in plays & in a speech competition with a few hundred people in the audience. That feeling is incredible, but I think I would spontaneously combust in front of an audience this size.
I have watched this thousands of times No joke! I discovered Freddie Mercury and queen in 2018 after I saw the movie Bohemian Rhapsody and when I saw the live aid performance in the movie, I came home that day and watched the real deal a.k.a. this video and have watched it countless times a day for nearly 4 years. I watch the actual performance and I have watched hundreds and hundreds of reaction videos. I enjoyed yours very much by the way.😊 Just an incredible performance that just makes me feel so good and so happy. This performance was absolute perfection in my eyes. I also have watched their Wembley 86 performance probably just as many times. You need to check that out from beginning to end. It is another epic performance. I seriously could watch this every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. Thank you for the review😊
Time for Grand Funk live Shea stadium .it’s 🔥🔥
You're so touching, great reaction, bravo! Thanks and love from France 🇫🇷😘
Great reaction! I never get tired of this! The guy on the guitar is Brian May! Yes this was the best performance ever!
74,000 people at Wembley Stadium in England Millions around the world watched the concerts
When you get to somebody to love live in Montreal you will appreciate Roger Taylor on drums
They only had 20 minutes. Also, I wish I had a penny for every time I have seen this show. Always fabulous cos, Freddie.
Audience was 1.5 billion worldwide live
Brian may the guitar 🎸 was built by him and his father
I don't know if anyone commented on this but Freddie was suffering from a throat infection at the time and if you notice when his voice was struggling the drummer, Roger Taylor. Would hit the notes for him. They always worked together and never disappointed.
Probably the greatest performance ever
Hammer To Fall was the song you asked about. This was the only new (then) track in the set. Set list:- 1.Bohemian Rhapsody - 2.Radio Ga Ga - (Eh Oh improvised) - 3.Hammer To Fall - 4.Crazy Little Thing Called Love - 5.We Will Rock You - 6. We Are The Champions. Later in the evening Freddie and Bryan May the guitarist came back ( as a fill in while things were set up in Philadelphia) to sing the acoustic 'Is This the World We Created?'
One of the best things I’ve seen:) glad you watched it too
"Just Killed a Man?!" You just slayed 100,000-odd who were on-site. I was listening in the kitchen I was working a rare - for me - Saturday. People gotta eat. Rest In Peace, Mr. B.
Brian May, guitar, John Deacon, bass, Roger Taylor, drums.
I remember watching it on TV live and Queen were the Best!!
Still considered to be the best live performance ever. I believe it was Elton John or David Bowie who said to Freddie after this performance “thanks Freddie. How is anyone supposed to follow that” throat infection and sick with a deadly disease and the man and the band put on the performance of a lifetime that is still perfection all these years later.
Bowie called them bastards and asked how he was supposed to follow that! They were great friends in reality, just a hard act to follow.
The members of Queen are:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano and guitar occasionally
Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals and keyboard
Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals
John Deacon - Bass guitar ( also some lead guitar and keyboards on Queen's studio work, but was the only member never to sing on their records.)
During Queen's later tours, the band hired Phillip "Spike" Edney to tour with them to sometimes play the piano so Freddie wouldn't be so tied to it and could perform out front. Spike also would play rhythm guitar and sing background vocals (during Live Aid, Spike is playing the piano during "Crazy Little Thing Called Love").
Some people refer to Spike as the 5th member of Queen, but he was never officially a member of the band, just a hired musician and friend.
Keep an eye on the guitarist Brian May. Recently he been noticed by popular demand, the greatest guitarist of all time. This is debatable, but he. Can do things with that guitar, which his father and him made the famous Red Special from an old mantle, table table top, a bar from an old backpack. Then he used parts from his mother’s sewing box. It has its own sound. This Dr Brian May, an astrophysicist. Freddie has a degree in graphic arts. John Deacon, on the bass guitar has a degree in electronic engineering. Roger Taylor, the drummer, studied dentistry and switch to Biology for hid degree. I hope you stay with us.
Wow 🥰 loved it 😍 please react to more queen songs ❤️ Freddie Mercury ❤️
You had to be there. I was. 80,000 in Wembley, and another 90 to 100,000 in Philadelphia's JFK Stadium in the USA, watching on a jumbo screen live. During the evening live stage acts started playing at JFK and we Brits swapped to watching the broadcast from there.
Ironic to come home from work and find this today. I work in retail and was in the back room this afternoon and another associate started to talk to me just as a queen song came on. I said “ hey nobody talks over Freddie singing”
The STANDARD
All shall be judged...
Guitarist Dr Brian May awesome reaction 🙌
Live Aid is incredible ❤️ Thanks for the reaction!
You are welcome 😁😁
There's an encore later that evening: IS THIS THE WORLD WE CREATED.; just Brian's acustic guitar and Freddie's fabulous vocals. They performed that song at Wembley 1986 as well, and the video is excellent from that entire "MagicTour" concert. Many of the songs from that tour were created for the Highlander movie
I'm so grateful you did the whole Live Aid set, Biz! I could see the look of respect & joy you had on your face. Please watch the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody". The guy that plays Freddie kills it. The way he replicates this set in the movie is unbelievable. If you ever watch it - message me. I'd love to hear if you loved it or not. Love ya, brother!
The movie was cool, the actor killed it.. it was way too sad for me tho
Great choice 👌 you are looking to the greatest show ever and of course to freddie the legend and the best voice ever no can do it like him God music
Hey, just so you know Doc, there was a lot of that Bolivian marching powder floating all through that show, I mean all of Live Aid. Status Quo who opened the show were pretty famous for being everybody's powdery drug dealers.
Great job as always, enjoy your weekend. ✌️
live is always the best
Thanks for watching this, and not talking all through it like some do.
Great reaction to a legendary performance!!!
This concert was sold out before Queen was announced to be there.
