This is such a peaceful, theraputic video. It makes me want to put on my backpack and go camping with you. Thanks for showing us Canada's natural beauty. It's priceless. I love the pup too.
It’s been years since I’ve been in the backwoods, ever since my son got sick 16 years ago. Watching your videos is very therapeutic. One day I’ll get back out. Until then., I’ll live vicariously through you, Jamie and Emma. Thanks for the vids!
Thank you thank you for pointing out the LNT stuff in your vids! The pandemic has introduced a whole population of folks into all backcountry areas in North America at least, that don’t have the knowledge needed for traveling through a natural area without being detected by the next visitor. Thank you for the asmr aspects as well!
Thanks for watching! It's very true, popularity of camping has increased and it's important for everyone to know about LNT and how to respect these natural areas and the others who also want to visit afterwards. We like to keep things simple and honest without too much fancy editing or music ..other than a mandatory cheesy intro song of course :D
Half way through I noticed that it was the audio that had me enthralled. The dog sniffing, the breathing of the person holding the camera, the footfalls the splashes all reminding me of camp. Love it all. I wanted to be there. Thanks for all of the hard work in the making of this video. I love the way the camera perspective goes back and forth. You should use an 'Emma-cam'. It would have to be waterproof of course.
Awe thanks so much for that feedback! We love the audio aspect of these kinds of trips, so we keep it clutter free with no music other than an opener to get everyone excited 😆 We hope that it makes everyone feel more like they are really out there on the trip with us.
Wow, you guys are well prepared - well fitted out. People who don't undertake this type of adventure are typically unaware of how much preparation is needed. Emma is living a dog's dream life. Wish mosquitoes and black flies would go extinct, though!
Thanks Rob! We're carful with what gear we select and bring, always honing and refining. Emma is spoiled and gives us sass when not at the cottage or canoe tripping 🙄😂 We were surprised by the bugs but we're fairly new to July tripping. We tend to go in May at ice out and then August, Sept, Oct.. wasn't great, but could have been MUCH worse!
Great videos! I was just in front of you guys from big thunder to erables that day. Was such a nice day and the mosquitoes came out full force at night. They were hungry.
Oh no way! We were pretty impressed with how quickly you completed that portage. By the time we got to the end you were just a spec out there on Erables! That had to be one of the nicest days we’ve ever had camping out in Algonquin.
@@TwoPacksandaPup Well, we were really hungry so we paddled really hard! haha, jk..we were already set up on erables and did a day trip to big thunder and walked to Devil lake, we just had a day pack a canoe and a dog. I must say; I was really impressed with the fact you guys didn't double back at that portage. Keep it up, looking forward to your next video.
Enjoyed the first two parts of your trip, looking forward to Part 3. Appreciate the natural sounds of your videos without any injected music like some other canoeing/camping videos. Of course, you have Emma, so you don't need any interludes to get from point A to point B in your videos!
Haha thanks Tom, glad you enjoyed! Sometimes I hope the wind noise or other isn’t irritating but think it’s better than snapping you out of the moment with a song you might not like.. we just stick to the one very intense and cheesy song at the intro and then leave it natural 😂 Emma makes our trips and our videos for sure!!
Absolutely! Why do people ruin the silence with music? The music is the environment. The paddle in the water. The wind in the speaker. The reflow of the stream. And of course, the loons!
Great video! I'm taking notes because I've got a similar route booked for September. I like Emma's pictures in the AO photo contest. Looking forward to the rest.
Hey Guys, Great video, thanks I wanted to know if you & Jamie ever went to the cabins built by Wendell Beckwith as he noted them to be the center of the universe ? It I believe is northern Ontario Quite remarkable structures Anyway, thanks again Jeffrey
@@TwoPacksandaPup That would save alot of space,I usually bring the who shibang (pot, filters, coffee, sugar, creamer dairy non dairy). Are they pricey? I really enjoyed the vid!

I did that route a few years ago with my son's Boy Scout troop. It was a great trip!
We loved it too! Awesome to get the kids in there on such a great adventure!
The dance required to perform the bear hang was the best! 😂
😂 right? We'll need to see some more of that next time!
It’s winter when I am watching this, I love winter with all my heart but watching this makes me excited for the warmer seasons!

@@TwoPacksandaPup maybe a badass guitar solo off of an 80s hairband hit for the intro tune!
great resolution on the cam. The crispness of the foliage in the rivers comes thru great. I wish all the portages were 1.5 meters!!
Thanks so much, quite happy with the iPhone 12 Pro camera quality! Haha yes, 1.5M is the dream.

Awe thanks Aya! ❤️
Awesome video, camera really did a good job capturing Algonquin. Officially subscribed.

Oye haha, Emma eating is.. less cute than you might think 😅 I promise we feed her! Her food and ours 😂 We will get some footage on the next one! 😋
Great leg of the trip.
Your trips bring back memories of adventures in my younger days.
Emma cracks me up 😆
It was a good couple days for sure! Glad you enjoyed watching. Emma is a character.. we keep her around for entertainment 😜
Hey Guys,
Great video, thanks
I wanted to know if you & Jamie ever went to the cabins built by Wendell Beckwith as he noted them to be the center of the universe ?
It I believe is northern Ontario
Quite remarkable structures
Anyway, thanks again
Jeffrey
Ah, no not yet! Haven't been up that way. Would be great to check that out for sure. Have you been?
Actually we live just north of Boston MA
To travel up there would take a mere 21+ hour drive to thunder bay
So, that would be a NO
27:09min. What was that?
Starbucks via instant coffee!
