  • Algonquin Park, in through Rock Lake Access - late summer August 26-28 2022
    Camped on Lake Louisa on night 1, then on to Rence Lake, through the Galipo river, into Penn & Welcome Lake and back out of Rock Lake.
    We did this popular loop - Welcome Lake Loop, in reverse, had a great time fishing and camping.

    When one is a dog person, and they get older and don't have companions like that anymore...
    Well, let's just say I find myself talking to Emma in "doggie talk" to the screen.
    My high functioning Golden's name was Mitch. He has been gone 30 years, and it still makes my heart sing to remember.
    You three make me feel better about the world.
    I don't really have any higher praise.
    Don't change a thing.

      Reuben, you are too sweet, your comment made our day ❤️ ..we STILL talk to pups on the screen in doggy talk - makes Emma a little cross with us though. Goldens have a way of wedging themselves into our hearts. She's our first, but we took one in for a few months when a friend had to work out of province, and we fell in love. Getting out into the canoe on these trips makes us feel better about the world and more capable of joining back into it afterwards as well. Excited for the season to begin again. Thanks for the lovely comment.

    Another great adventure. Thanks for all the good footage. We like that you are spending some time educating fellow campers, ie. digging a hole for dishwater, putting out your fire completely, leaving some wood for the next person, checking for garbage. We all have to be respectful so everyone can enjoy the great outdoors. Thanks for your videos!

    Just discovered your channel and I’m enjoying it very much. I took my first interior canoe trip 48 years ago. I was 18 and my two buddies convinced me to go in an 18 ft fibreglass canoe . We were very inexperienced, so much so that I threw a pillow loosely in the canoe . I can tell you that modern technology makes a ton of difference. Haven’t been able to go for about ten years now and it’s fun to see places I recognize through your videos. Thanks so much. ( keep swimming Ema)

    I did this in 3 days as well. One of the bros over at The Portage Outpost said he and his buddy did it in a day. Nutbars. I was ambitious and tried to get to Frank Lake in a day. Ended up at a lucky vacant Harry Lake site just as sundown hit. But I love this area. I go every year. Going to hit up Pen Lake for a few days. I'm too old to do the full welcome loop anymore

No fish catch and cook, eh? You're so blessed to have the wilderness and lakes to explore and camp. I have to hike up and down mountains, backpacking, to be able to wild camp. Don't know what the original route was but the Welcome loop is a prized fishing destination but in the spring .Despite your crowds it's still a remote area .But one has to know where to go.ie no filled up crapper boxes and good fishing for specks. The two go together because fishermen are so full of sh*t . In any case Jen is a star with her Farrah Fawcet hair

    • @TwoPacksandaPup
      @TwoPacksandaPup  5 місяців тому

      😂 Thanks Alex, we will have to check it out in the spring, but do our best to avoid the fishermen that are full of sh*t. Might be tricky! Thanks for joining us, see you on the next one.
