Enjoyed the talking in the dark with the lighting people part. Something soothing about it. So relieved to have gotten that hiking errand done and back before the sun even came up this morning. Made it back minutes before the thunder storm commenced. 🎉That downtown sounds fun. ❤😊
Loved the tour! We’ve been to many shows at the theater and it was great to see the “backside!” We were at the show last night. FABULOUS!!! We were in the orchestra section and had some trouble hearing…seemed like audio was cutting out and could hear what Lyle was singing. Our friend went to the lobby at one point and said the audio was fine back there. Still…so good. He is one of my bucket list performers and I could listen all night!

I don’t know how to determine art deco vs. nouveau but these old theatres you are showing are absolutely gorgeous. I wish we put that effort into our architecture and interior design today. I will say Folsom was a beautiful modern facility.

I watched the Immediate Family DVD tonight 3/15/24 and it was outstanding! Everyone should watch it. It was amazing seeing photos of you, Danny and Russ when you're in your twenties. Waddy cracked me up when he came up with the groove of the song and he still had to fight for the solo. Boy those were some solos too. It is a piece of Rock and Roll history - and you lived it and still living it today. Real national treasures you are! I wept because it was so right in a world that's upside down. Thanks!

Saw so many films as a teenager in this theater. Then they divided it in two to provide more entertainment. But when a new multi-screen theater opened, the Uptown was shut down. So happy for all the restoration work that's been done over the years. So many beautiful old buildings have been torn down in the downtown region.
Well, Leland sure made my night last night! I went to the show, and Lyle and band were incredible, as always! But the first thing I noticed when they hit the stage was Leland on bass, and I was like... WHAT??? That's Leland Sklar!!! I felt so thrilled that not only was I going to see Lyle Lovett but Leland too! And as an added bonus... I was heading out of the venue late and there was Leland in the lobby, so I not only got to hear him in person, but I actually had the opportunity to meet him! Yeah... I know, I sound like some crazy FanBoy, but... yes, I was thrilled and Leland is not only a phenomenal bassist, he's also a great guy and was kind enough to pose for a pic with me! So, thank you Leland! I've already sent the pic to all my band buddies who were all suitably wowed! And I'm sorry... I didn't see the book for sale. I surely would have picked that up! Have a great rest of your tour!

The Uptown Theatre facade on the street reminds me a bit of the old Winterland in San Francisco from the 70's Mr Sklar ? Did you ever play there ? I believe they tore it down some time ago ? Have a good one .
